Trace stood there, and heard someone obviously trying to sneak up on him. He thought about ruining their moment, then decided against it, crossing his arms, pretending as if nothing was happening. Just a few steps closer... he thought, and heard the crunch of the sand under their feet continue. When they were four steps closer, he jumped around, tearing off his blindfold, showing the hideously scarred eyes beneath, and yelling, "BLAAAAH!" as he shook his head back and forth, sending his already messy hair flying crazily around until he looked like a mentally insane patient. His right eye fell out, dangling on a decaying strand of flesh. "Whoops," he muttered, as he picked it up and tried to put it in. It didn't work. "Crap," he muttered, as he reached into his pocket, pulled out a large obsidian dagger with Celtic runes carved into the blade, and quickly sliced it off. "I should probably go to the Infirmary after this swordfighting lesson," he muttered, smiling. "Sorry you had to see that... Uh...?" he asked, looking at whoever had tried to sneak up on him.

"AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" yelled Anaiis. It wasn't the fact that Trace's eyes fell out of his sockets, but just the fact that he startle her so. She tripped jumping backwards, and fell on the sandy floor with a loud thud. "Oh, ow," mumbled Anaiis, rubbing her scraped elbow. "Trace you scared me! But,I do have to admit it was a bit funny." Seeing that Trace didn't regonize her just yet, she reminded him. "It's Anais, from the Hallway conversation with Stephen and Joslyn."

Taking Trace's hand, she smiled and stood up. "Thank you. Well, I was just fine, like the conversation in the hallway a minute ago, but then I hit the ground, so... I'm not entirely sure right now." Anaiis laughed at herself. "I'm joking, I'm fine," she said as she dusted off her corset dress and pushed her hair out of her eyes. "Are you okay? I only scarped my arm, but you... are you okay?" Anaiis feelt stupid for stumbling over her words, and asking the same question twice. So as to make sure it did not happen again, she got out 2 pieces of gum from her messanger bag, and quickly stuffed them in her mouth.

"What, this?" he asked, holding up his eye. "Eh, it's nothing. I was expecting it to happen any time now." He tossed it behind him near the Hellhound, expecting it to be eaten.

Stephen walked in as Trace was throwing his eye away. "That is just creepy, man." he said joking, a smile on his face.

"Hey, it's either that, or put it in your drink tomorrow at lunch," Trace said, laughing. "Besides. Now it's a gross, bloody, empty socket. Just like you wanted," he said, chuckling.

Turning and seeing Stephen walking in, Anaiis smiled a little brighter than before. Jokingly, she said, "You should have seen it a minute ago, he scared me so bad I fell backwards and hit the floor!" laughed Anaiis.

Stephen gazed at Anaiis. "Oh really? Too bad I didn't see that. Would have been fun to see you bounce around the floor." he said joking and he chuckled. "Hilarious."

"More fun than a barrel of lightning shooting zombie monkeys," Trace said, a reference to the earlier jokes in the Hallway about combination magic. He laughed, and leaned back against the wall.

Laughing along with Stephen and Trace, she suddenly remembered someone from there group was missing. "Hey, that reminds me. Have you guys seen Joslyn? Last time I saw her was in the hallway, I thought she left with you, Trace? Yet, she's not here..."

"I honestly have no idea," Trace said, shrugging. "She can handle herself. I'm not too worried. She's not the kind to be late, she'll get here probably right as class starts." He smiled.

Stephen stopped near them both and grinned. "You have vivid imagination, my friend. Though that sounds more like a parody movie. Not exactly terrifying." he snorted. "Zombie monkeys." then he laughed a little. "Speaking of which, why are we here so early anyway." he looked around. "It seems deserted."

"That is a very good question." Trace replied, sitting back. "How about we warm up? We're about to have swordfighting class, right? How about a quick spar before class starts?" he asked, chuckling.
