"Look, the sooner we get to Ka Dingel, the sooner we can go lookin for the chest that Charlissa's key belongs to. Because Ace is gone. I know it in my heart."
*Vance looked at each of their faces in turn and then headed to the exit of town. He turned back and waited for the group.*
"I'll explain more about the guardians on the way, can we just get going please."

*From behind Vance, Ace places his hand on his friends shoulder and steps into the view of everyone at the saloon.*
"Now I know you aren't talking about me."
*He was wearing exactly what he had worn before, minus his hat and he looked no worse for wear. He smiled and walked past Vance directly to Charlissa, his actions seemed driven, as if he were possesed by an urge to do something.
He walked up to her, grabbed her and pulled her close, looked deep into her eyes, bent her down and kissed her hard on the lips. As he pulled back he moved inside the Saloon and sat down at the one circular table and ordered a small shot of burbon.*
"Yeah... I neededthat."
*He moved t take his hat off and frowned when there wasn't one.*
"anyone know where my hat got off to?"

Shocked?
No, not the word...
FLABERGASTED.
Yes. Jacob and Andy both wore the same Flabergasted expression at the sight of Ace, neither expecting him to be in such a ... healthy condition.
"A-a-Ace?!" Jacob exclaimed, quite shocked... for more than one reason.
"I... I just can't believe it..." Andy stuttered. "Where in the name of Claiborne were you?! What happened to you back there?! What's this all about?!" He took out Ace's blood-stained hat and presented it to him, pointing at the noticable stain, all the while wearing an expression somewhere between stern crossness and joy.
"It must be a ghost or somethin'... untouched and everything..." Jacob said, checking himself in disbelief.
"Oh yeah... I promised somethin' for ya..." Andy began, tossing over his bag and searching through it. He pulls out a large deep-blue berry simular in shape to a rasberry but larger. "One Potion Berry..." he said, holding it out to the Drifter.
Jacob welcomed the boy's offer with a soft pound of a fist on Andy's head. "Don't go tossing those around now!"

*Vance nearly keels over from being startled, he drops to his knee and grabs his chest breathing heavily. He watches as Ace walks past with out so much as a scratch on him and gives Charlissa one hell of a kiss.*
"But... You were dead! How... I mean I was going to, we were going to go look for you and now your... what the hell is going on!"

Malhavoc is not a person who gets angry often. When he does get angry it seethes below the surface, smoldering waiting for that small puff of air to make it explode. When Ace kissed Charlissa that anger started to burn. Just when things were starting to go his way, for once another obstacle was put in his way. He knew that Charlissa had unresolved feelings gor Ace and that this would be a problem. "It is good to see you Ace. We have been worried." Malhavoc looks at Charlissa waiting for her reaction. Waiting to see what she would do...

*Charlissa is dumbfounded and shocked. She of course cannot hold back when Ace kisses her. She is washed over with emotion and looks to Ace as if he's a GOD.*
She stammers and spits out "holy s**t! Where have you been, what happened to you? Why did you worry us sick,... me sick? What the hell is going on?"
*She sat down next to Ace, so confused and shaking to her deepest inner core. "I'm to scared to even look at Malhavoc right now. I can't imagine how that made him feel. I don't know what to do with myself. Especially after a kiss like that!" She thought to herself. All she could do was stare at Ace with that dumbfounded look and he had to of known what that kiss meant to her. Hopefully it wasn't a one time thing.*
"What the heck do I do now?" she asked herself in a whisper, even though she was still staring at Ace.
*He may not have meant to play with her emotions, or did he? She was totally confused now, but kind of forgot about Malhavoc for a moment, because all she could think about was that damn good kiss!*
"Dammit!!!" she exclaimed out loud in frustration.

She would have to make a choice soon. He knew better than to press her now. He would give her a little time to make a decision, but he wouldn't let her sit on the fence forever and keep him in limbo.

*Ace took the shot of Burbon and downed it quickly, stomping his foot then placing the glass on the table with a thud. He looked at Charlissa and winked. He knew they were all eager to hear where he had been and what happened. More or less he would tell them everything and he knew it.*
"Whoo!" He took his hat and frowned at the blood smears. "Damn, this was my favorite hat."
*He seemed to be ignoring the questions and looks of concern for him from everyone. Whether he was doing it on pourpos or not was unkown. He finally saw Charlissa staring at him and he smirked at her an gave her a wink.*
*He chuckled at Charlissa's outburst almost guessing what she was thinking.*
"Look, I am fine. And i am sure you all want to know what happened. Believe me I will tell you all in good time. BUT right now I have some great news. I did some investigating and found out what your key belongs to sweetness. It's a good thing ya'll were headed to Ka Dingel, because that is in fact where we need to go."
*He paused for dramatic effect and the leaned forward again, his lips barely close enough to brush against Charlissa's and then quickly stood up. He stretched and plopped his hat onto his head.
"First things first though. There is a Drifter by the name of Ezric that we need to locate. He has the skills we need to make it through those ruins. Vance and I are good drifters, but Ezric should add to that power ten fold."
*He looked sideways at Malhavoc, it was obvious his entrance had made the Drifter sour and the fact that Ms. Bliss seemed to be a little more enamored with his forwardness made it all the better. He deliberately left out Malhavoc's name from the list of good Drifters making sure the rivalry between the two was firmly set.*
"That key opens up a chest at the top of that tower. Inside that chest is something that every Drifter has been looking for since the dawn of the Wasteland. The Eternal Sparkle is said to be worth millions of Gella. On top of that, we would be the only Drifters in History to have it!"
*He looked back at Vance and smiled his award winning smile.*

"So why the "big" mystery Ace?" Malhavoc says. "Why will you not tell us what happened to you now? This eternal sparkle is not going anywhere. I think you owe it to us to explain yourself. We were all worried sick about you. That is not a very fair situation to put us in." Malhavoc says with no tone to his voice. "You may not even be Ace for all we know. Vance was sure you were dead, Charlissa and I wanted to search for your body to give it a proper rest. Is this how you treat your friends?"

*Ace smiles and tips his hat to Malhavoc.*
"Alright, ya'll want an explaination? Fine. I was riding ahead and trying to cool my jets so we could go look for this chest for the key. Next thing I know my horse falls into this... pit i guess, like a sink hole. Throws me off and i slide about thirty feet. I was going pretty fast. My hat gets lost and i find myself spitting out about ten tons of sand. Then a pair of boots step into my line of sight. I look up and there is this fella all drabbed out in black starin down at me. His ARM aimed at my head. He starts askin me about this Eternal Sparkle nonesense and I tell him it is only a legend. He gets all pissy and fires at me, damn near takes my head off, but he's a horrible shot see."
*Ace pushes aside some hair to show a scabbed up cut going from just under his hair line to the back of his head.*
"We scuffle a bit and i get him pinned down and we start talking all cool like. Next thing we know there is a damned stampedee of Slugs headin right for us. We barely get outta the way as those ugly things go by and he and I set up a small camp. Dude's all curious about this eternal sparkle thing and says he's traced it to Ka Dingel, only there's no key to unlock the chest it is hidden in. Says him and his partner lost it a while back to some female thief." He smirks at Charlissa. "So we sit and stare at each other all night long, neither of us ready to let the other sleep in case the killin' idea pops into the others head. We part ways at dawn, an I saw Charlissa standin at the doors all fine and more beautiful than the morning sun. Couldn't help but thank the Guaridans for my life with a drink and a kiss. best breakfast I ever had. bein alive can do that to ya after almost bein' shot."
*He looks at Mal.*
"Explaination enough?"

"How would he know it was a female thief that has the key? I picked it off his dead brother in the night while no one else was around. Was he spying on me?" ~Directed at Ace.

*Vance pushes himself up to his feet, his face etched with a mixture of confusion and anger. He stalks up to Ace his eyes locked onto his friends and reaches back, his fist coming in lightning quick and the resounding "Crack!" that is hear sends Ace flying backward into the chair he had just occupied. Vance shakes his hand and then looks at Ace."
"That is for making me think you were dead you a*****e! Next time i'll turn my medium on you and roast your a**!"
*Just as soon as the anger was there Vance seemed to calm down and be more than glad his friend is alive.*
"Now where is this Ezric, and how do we find him, and how on earth did you hear about him? From the guy that almost killed you? Doesn't sound very promising."

"I seem to remember a "refigerate" somewhere in there. If your horse fell into a pit how come Vance found it later and I rode it before both mine and Vances's horse ran off. Some "stranger" firing point blank and missing? For all we know that cut could be from getting thrown off a horse. If this stranger fired at you before the slug stampede we would have heard the shot. You stay awake all night? Why did you not just walk away if he was not going to kill you? You could have caught up with us we stayed around the slug killing grounds for a while trying to find you. There are just a few to many inconsitencies with your story. Frankly it sounds made up."
