"I've got coffee going on right now." Kaiser said while poking the fire. Myrr came back with wet hair as well and sat down on the opposite side of the fire from Kaiser.
"Kaiser, go bathe." Myrr said grumpily, eliciting a stare from the half-asleep Kaiser.
"What? Why?"
"Why else? You smell. Now git!" Myrr said as she checked the bacon.
Kaiser did what he was told, ducked back into his tent and muttered as he left the campsite.
Myrr sighed and looked at Hali. "How are you holding up?" she asked her.

"I know its normal but... it seems with the mystique that I had built, I had begun believing in it as well... I'm not supposed to feel this." he sighed.
"I'm... going to go to bed. You're welcome to join me but I just need sleep." he muttered as he excused himself from the table. Hugging Oriana tightly, he retreated to his room and crawled into bed after scattering his clothing all over the place.

 After a few minutes Oriana peeked in and picked up his clothes. folding and placing them over a chair. she slipped out of the room with a smile and went to the adjoining room and laid down to read a book. ~~~~~~ Hali smiled, "I'm doing well, actually. Turns out my sister knew what i would be going through, and packed accordingly.My father used to take me on backpacking trips up to Yukon... so it's not like hiking and camping is foreign to me." she touched the edge of the cup and it was warm. "So hows your morning been?"

Auren slept fitfully. Even in the security of a peaceful world, in a castle, he could not get any rest. The General then imagined he heard something and bolted upright from a nightmare, knife in hand.
Looking around the dark room, he lay back down and examined the knife. Digging around the covers, he pulled out its sheath and sheathed the knife.
Staring at the ceiling, he couldn't help but ask the spirits why he was the sole survivor.

"Meh. It's been a while since I was required to get up before frelling dawn but I'll live." Myrr said. "Breakfast is done, by the way. Have some bacon." she said as she scrounged around for a tin plate, slid a few pieces of bacon onto it and offered it to Hali.

Oriana peeked in through the door stepped in, "... Is everything alright?" she asked as she neared the side of his bed. She sat on the corner and brushed a lock of his hair back and smiled, just being there to comfort him if he wanted it. (Laem... I know... But I donno) ~~~~ Hali stabbed and scooped up a bit of the bacon with the half spoon half fork utensil she had pulled from her bag of tea. eating it with a smile she nodded, "Wow, It's not bad... Reminds me of dad's cooking... He always was hopeless at it..." she covered her mouth and giggled slightly, then offered one of the spoon/fork utensils to Myrr, "You can use this if you want..."

Auren looked up at her in the darkness. "No, no its not. I can't even sleep without seeing what I saw again." He sat up again and hugged her gently, taking comfort in the fact that she was real and right there.
He chuckled in the darkness. "Sadly, I can't tell if I'm dead or not. It's really confusing..." he said with a pained smile.

"A spork? Why would I want one of those when I have a knife?" Myrr asked as she speared a piece of bacon and started chewing on it. Opening the pot she made a face and dug around for a tin mug, and poured coffee into it.
"Blah, I don't understand why Kaiser likes coffee black. I thought it was something to be enjoyed, not torture yourself."

she frowned at the fact that her spork was denied and slipped it back in her bag for another time, 'Hell, Maybe i got the wrong idea... Maybe i should be as prissy and as proper as i can remember to be... that'll really piss 'em off.' she looked at the fire, and the second she heard the words 'Black coffee' she automatically got her full attention. Hali grumbled, "Because he's like my sister.... She drinks her coffee black." she shuttered at the thought, "Coffee just doesn't taste good to me... I prefer tea." she touched her cup and noticed it was hot, so she took the cork of her shell out and placed some water around the handle to cool it down. when i was cool again, the water returned to it's shell and it was safe to take from the fire. she inhaled the herbal aroma and smiled, "Green tea is amazing..." she sighed. ~~~~~~~~~ Oriana got her full body up on the bed and sat a few pillows against the head board. she then leaned back and allowed herself to be a cushion for Auren's head, "Well, I'm pretty sure you would have heard if I were dead... But! If there's anything i can do for you to make things "clearer", so to say, name it... and i can guarantee that you'll have it."

Kaiser came back into the clearing, shaking his hair dry. "More accurately, Black coffee gets me going in the morning. Yes it's masochism but its gooood masochism. Otherwise I enjoy my coffee with two creams and four sugars or so."
Kaiser sat down at the fire in his 'designated' spot and pulled out a knife from his belt and speared a piece of bacon and started chewing on it. He also went about the business of pouring himself coffee.
"Besides, at least I had the presence of mind to pack real coffee. Not that crap you can get by the barrel that tastes like wood." Kaiser rumbled.
"Entirely true" Myrr said with a hint of thankfulness.

Auren chuckled as his mind ran through a few fantasies. He let them mostly run their course to get them out of his system, and he looked up at her. "Y'know the last time I actually shared a bed with someone, it was over three years ago..." he said with a light smile.
"'Course, I haven't slept well in three years either so..."
The General took her hand and kissed it lightly, planting a kiss on each fingertip.

Hali didn't add anything to their conversation, she figured it'd be best to stay out of it. Miu slithered up her back and perched on her shoulder glancing at the two on the other side of the fire, 'who are they? You know your sister will want a full report of everything you do.'Hali giggled, 'She Knows about them...'
'No,' Miu argued, 'She knows about him... She's wanting you engaged by the end of this ordeal you know.' the lizard growled, though to others ears it might sound like a purr. "What?!" Hali shouted jumping up from her seat and face completely red. 'Settle down! She figured you ran off with the man because you had feelings for him, and you two were going to do your business... However,' Miu's tiny lizard lips curving, 'I can clearly see that that's not the case. And your sister will be most concerned that you ran off with two people you hardly know, more or less trust! she'll definitely come after you, and they may, or may not survive...'Tears came to Hali's eyes as she bit her lower lip, 'don't tell her... I....I'll do my best, alright...''Good...' The lizard slid down her arm and rested on a rock close to where Hali was sitting. ~~~~~~ Oriana blushed softly and nuzzled the top of Auren's head, "So, you wish for some company in your room tonight?" she smiled and squeezed his hand gently, "I'd love to be the next one you shared a bed with..." (Good god i gotta stop...>< i'm almost dying from laughter, and if you don't want Oriana to rape him in one massive post of passion... i stop here.)

Myrr and Kaiser's eyes bolted onto Hali as she lept up, and then both disappeared from sight. Uncloaking slowly as the checked the area around them, they sheathed their weapons slowly.
"Hali? Are you alright there?" Kaiser asked her, having entirely forgotten his breakfast.
"Hell, Kaiser. We better get our asses into gear if she's being weird like that. She could be a precog for all we know."
"Right, right." Kaiser rumbled as he began hurriedly repacking the camp. Myrr doused the fire and stamped it out.
"Well, Hali? We better get a move on!" she hissed.

"If you don't mind..." Auren said, scooting over in the bed to give her the warm spot he had created.
Sighing heavily, he tried to relax once again.

Hali nodded, Keeping her head down and her mouth shut. She packed up her bags and strapped them onto her back. when everyone was read, they departed from their campsite. Of Course Miu slithered right onto Hali's backpack, and rested on the top so she could get a nice long sun bath. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I don't mind." Oriana replied as she ran her fingers through his long ivory blond hair. she feather stroked around his face, and back up through his hair, drifting down his neck, shoulder, upper arm. The familiar soothing actions were soon followed by a soft melody from her past, and after an hour or so Oriana managed to lull herself to sleep.

Kaiser led the way through the forest, in his tiger shape shifted form. His own pack was easier to handle that way due to both design and the harness. "We're heading back on to the main road. From there it's another hour's walk to a village. From there, we can scare up transportation and cut a week off of our travel time. Less if Virmire's in town." he called back.
"Virmire? That wandering, crossdressing Vagrant?" Myrr grumbled.
"Cross dressing? No. Flamboyantly Gay? Yes." Kaiser grumbled.
"This'll be hilarious to watch in action." Myrr giggled as she looked back at Hali. "It'll be worth it. Honest!"
"Oh screw you, Myrr!"

Auren awoke the next morning and snuggled into the sleeping Oriana.
Looking out the window, he shook his head. "Yeah, I'm dead and went to a good afterlife. I can deal with that." he said softly.

"Wha's the matter, Auren?" Oriana mumbled, still mostly sleeping. She heard a bit of what he was saying, but didn't really focus on the words. she stretched a bit and blinked her eyes a few times before opening them. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Hali looked around confused, "What about a flamboyant gay cross dresser?" she could feel Kaiser's irritation, and Myrr was definately amused, so she assumed it had something to do with a gay flamboyant cross dressing male... wanting to be female and love up on Kaiser... She shuddered at the thought and kept her mouth shut about her thoughts. Miu giggled at Hali's sudden shudder, 'Is it that hard to imagine... I'm sure your soon to be fiancee will go well with a gay flamboyant man... or should i say woman.'Hali grumbled at fiancee, and suddenly looked down at the ground again.

"Nothing, my love. Go back to sleep." he cooed to her as he got comfy again. If he really WAS in the afterlife. He could sleep all day. And sleep all day he WOULD!
Pulling the blankets up, he curled up around her again.

"When we meet him. You will understand." Kaiser said ominously.
Myrr couldn't stop giggling quietly. She knew full well what was going on.

Oriana brushed the side of his face and kissed him softly. her hand trailed down his face, and just as she was about to wrap her arms around him she felt a bump on his shoulder, which ended up being a scar. for some odd reason she found her finger following it all the way down till it ended just above his hip. She opened her eyes and looked at him. she felt on the other side and felt an identical one. the thought of what could have made it, made her shutter and she pulled close to Auren, "I love you...." she whispered as she closed her eyes tighter trying to make the thoughts go away. ~~~~~~~~~ Hali shrugged and continued to scurry along behind them.

Auren tilted his head and looked at her "I love you too.." he said quietly, holding her tightly. He had felt her explore that scar and shook his head.
"That was made by one demon that I fought. I killed it, eventually but it cost me quite more then I expected." he explained to her.
Truth be told, had the General not wrenched away from the monster, he would've lost his arm and then very shortly later, life. Hugging her tighter, he started humming a song from his own childhood, stroking her hair.

When the trio hit the main road, Kaiser shifted, and messed with his harness some more, turning it into a regular pack.
Three hours of easy walking compared to the forest trek found them in a small village, heading to the Laughing Fox Inn. Before entering the village, however, Kaiser threw a cloak over Hali, hiding most of her features.
"When we go in, don't say a word until I tell you too, alright?" Kaiser told her.
