"Why don't you just lay down? I'll go get us some food, drink, and some medical supplies."

Karl said with a smile, wishing that he hadn't beaten the man into a state of perpetual pain. Hopefully the man had gotten the message, otherwise there was going to be hell to pay.

"Sake would be wonderful," Takumi said with a nod, glad the man had suggested that. "Thank you, love." Medical supplies were always welcome where Karl was involved, and sake would be great for dulling the pain. He certainly needed that. He knew he'd heal quickly like he usually did, but he'd still be hurting for at least a few days.

"I'll be back."

Karl said with a smile before exiting the room. Truth be told, a little time to his own was never a bad thing. The further he got from Takumi, the more his head would clear. He took his sweet time as he gathered a few medical supplies, a little food, and a few bottles of sake.

Yuuka retook her seat, and pretended to think about the question posed to her. Really, she had decided last night while she was trying to get to sleep. A coop was inevitable in her position, so she had to prepared.

"Since this is the first uprising against me, I think I'll go easy on them." Her voice was light, but dropped to a dark tone suddenly. "Chop off their right hands. Any hand that would raise a weapon against the Shogun is a worthless hand, and make sure they all know that the next uprising will not be so lucky as to receive my mercy." It was harsh, but necessary. She couldn't afford anyone thinking she was weak. The plus side was that she only had to kill one person this time. Next time the body count would be much higher. There was one more benefit to leaving the others alive. They would gossip, as people do, and news that the new Shogun was not to be trifled with would spread quickly. Hopefully those who thought she'd be easy to overthrow just because she was a girl would reconsider, leaving only those that where truly determined to challenge her. All in all, she estimated that the number of people who planned to rebel against her would drop 60% in the next few days. Raiden wanted a show of force, and he got it.

"Yes my liege."

O said with a grim smile as he marched the crying mob outside, he would take care of each and every amputation with his own blade. He was guaranteed to send a message and then perhaps he'd display the pile of hands, maybe not.

"Because there is a bit of bad blood between the Mikage family as a whole and the Shogunate. Leave now. We will not hunt you down, and you don't have to go home. You just have to go away."

Raiden said, his hand resting on his blade as he sensed the insanity in the man raising again.

"And I have been trying to repair those relations," Ryoku said icily as he glared at Raiden. "I have behaved myself while here, have I not? I have not attacked anyone under the employ of the shogunate." A grin almost appeared on his face before he added, "And I have always been the black sheep of my family, have I not? Why group me in with the rest?"

All things considered, Ryoku was keeping himself perfectly under control at the moment. Being out in the sunlight was helping with that considerably, of course. It's hard for one to be angry when one feels so good, after all.

"I don't trust you, no one trusts you. You are an accident waiting to happen. Since the leaving of your b***h, you've been like a rabid dog. You are insane. If you don't leave, you will be arrested."

Raiden said firmly, he was the reason the man was getting kicked out, but the fact of the matter was, The new Shogun had agreed with him. Thus her word was law. A law he could be pleased with.

Yuuka waited patiently for the mess to be cleaned up, and then turned to the quivering man whose report had been interrupted. She had a strong feeling the man was a hair's breadth away from wetting his pants. "Please continue," she said reassuringly. The man looked between her and his papers several times, a look of sheer terror on his face. Finally, he got up the courage to speak.

"Y-yes m-m-m-m-ma'am." Thankfully, his stuttering eventually stopped. If he had done that the entire time he was talking, she would have been beyond aggravated.

"Did Yuuka-dono give you orders to do so?" Ryoku inquired, frowning at Raiden. He didn't appreciate being called insane, but Bukai found it amusing. Okay, so he had a voice in his head that told him to kill people and got stabby when it wasn't listened to. And okay, he had been a bit unpredictable, going from acting perfectly calm and civil like he was now to screaming at people and trying to kill them. Did that make him insane? ...Maybe a little...

"She gave me the order to expel you if I felt it the right course of action. I feel it is the right course of action, so here I am expelling you. I had the option of sending a guard or courier to do so, but the fact that I am here telling you this myself shows exactly how little confidence I have in your self control. Your going to snap and kill someone that shouldn't be killed, and I will not allow that to be Yuuka!"

Raiden said, his brows furrowed, his eyes glinting with conviction. He'd die for Yuuka, as he would have died for her father. He owed her family his life, and he believed in what they believed in. If he died, so what? If they died...well the dark ages were sure to return to the country. So there he was, glaring at a psychopath, brandishing one of his kodachi, barely aware of how much adrenaline ran through him at the moment.

O stopped at his room to change into a different set of clothing, trying to erase the screaming and blood shed from his mind. Yes, it was necessary to make a show of force, but...but the sight of the girl killing the man that way...it was a bad omen of things to come. He returned to the main hall, paler, but ready to attend to any other problems that may come up.

When Ogata returned to the room, she held up her hand, and halted the person who was currently speaking. "Ogata, you look pale, are you alright?" She had a vague notion that it was because of the latest events, but she honestly thought cutting off a few hands wouldn't bother him. He had killed before after all. Maybe she should explain her actions later. She had sprung that on him without warning.

"So you would prefer for me to 'snap' when I am out of your sight and therefore you are unable to do anything about it?" Ryoku inquired, not caring that Raiden had drawn his blade. "I could burn this entire city to the ground if I wanted to, and it would be so easy it almost wouldn't be worth doing." As he said this, a pale gold fire came to life over the palm of his hand, and on closer inspection, it seemed to be shaped like a fiery butterfly. It was quite beautiful to look at, but clearly not only for show if its master wished it so.

He closed his hand and the fire vanished, being absorbed back into him. "I would never kill Yuuka-dono," he continued, giving Raiden a deathly serious look, "but I would protect her with my life, as I know you would. Raiden-san...Forcing me to leave would be a grave mistake. I need to be here. I need to have something to do. You could not possibly understand what it is like, feeling your soul steadily weakening while someone else's grows stronger within you and takes you over... Being here has slowed the process. I need some sort of direction, some sort of purpose. If you want that purpose to benefit you, let me stay here and continue to serve the shogunate. If you want to take a chance, then send me away and trust me to find a new purpose that you will have no problem with. Ah, but you do not trust me or my judgment. I might very well choose something that would make you regret sending me away. Or, if I did not find something to occupy myself with, then the worst will occur and I will lose myself entirely. And you will not like what will take my place."

A note of desperation had entered his voice in the middle of that speech, by it had changed to something far more sinister by the end. He was telling nothing but the truth. If he didn't find something to keep him busy and focused, then he'd "snap," as Raiden had so eloquently put it, and Bukai would take full control of him. If that happened, he pitied anyone who got in his way. The simplest solution would, of course, be for Raiden to kill him now. But Bukai wouldn't let Ryoku be killed, so that solution was, in fact, impossible.

"I am fine."

O said, bowing to her before taking his normal position, leaning against one of the pillars as he waited for the meeting to finish.

When Karl finally returned, he had hot food, cold drink, and of course medical supplies.

"You would and so would that pissant in your head. Who do you think your fooling? You're as dangerous here as you are anywhere else."

Raiden said, the man had to be an idiot to think he was fooling anyone. He was crazier than ever. He spoke in the royal we all the time and he clung to control by a hair trigger. He was more likely to snap and create problems then he was to take it up the a**.
PostPosted: Wed Jan 14, 2009 8:23 pm

"That is not true," Ryoku argued, the desperation creeping back into his voice. "I am no threat to Yuuka-dono. I would never hurt her." He was telling the truth. Couldn't Raiden see that? "I have done nothing to hurt her anytime during the past ten years, nor had I done anything to hurt Iziroku-sama during that time."

Takumi had been resting while Karl was away, but the smell of food woke him right up. He smiled happily at Karl, pleased to see the man had returned.

"Thank you, love," he said, continuing to smile at the man.

"Stay as long as you like."

Raiden said before slipping off the roof and back into the throne room.

"No problem."

Karl said, setting the food next to the man before opening a bottle of sake for the two of them.
