She thought she knew him, but he was so closed off, so smart so... distant. He had kept her much further then arms length. Was it because he was sick that he was opening up to her now?

"Yes that's true but Gunn has done that to." Wesley pointed out. "I guess we never... Well that's not true. We had plenty of times to talk." He's was thinking about it now. "Maybe it was because every time we were alone we were working on a case... You know I never have asked you about what it was like growing up for you. How your life was before Pylea. I feel like I should have. I mean I only got a peak when your parents came to get you. And I never even thought about talking to you about it. Well at least until now.

She had been guilty of the same sin... "I guess we all just live in the moment." Her and Charles had always been very of the moment. Cordelia and Angel she knew a little about, mostly what the others would tell her, and well truth was the person she knew the most about was Lorne, having spent time in his dimension, and he talked a bit about his family and his life before joining Angel Investigations...

"No you didn't say anything." She smiled. "I mean I'm just thinking. We were all so close but we knew next to nothing about each other..." she sighed thinking about that and wrinkled her nose. "Not a very nice thought, or maybe a really sweet one depending on how you look at it. Guess I should just look at it through the sweet side and try not to think on it too much more..."

"You know. I just forgot you didn't know." Wesley looked down. "I guess I got used to the idea that everyone already knew my past with the slayers that I didn't think about the fact that you didn't know. Angel and Cordelia have known me for a long time. And in the beginning it used to be just the three of us and occasionally Gunn. Gunn never asked me about myself... In fact nobody does... Well I guess Sam asked me a few things like if I liked myself and I didn't answer her." He was running off on a tan git.

"Its been almost four years. I was sent to Sunnydale by the Watcher's Council to relieve Giles of his duties as watcher. I was supposed to continue Buffy and Faith's training. Cordelia was a senior in high school at the time. I met her in the high school library. As for Angel I didn't know much about him accept that he was with Buffy. I didn't really learn more about Angel until we met up again. Which was about a year and half later after I left Sunnydale." Wesley said.

"Oh.." That might explain why Giles never came out of the car, there seemed to be bad blood between the two. "I guess Giles didn't like that too much."

"Well I guess I'm glade that you did." She yawns. "I mean if you were a good watcher... I wouldn't be here... maybe you were just meant to do more then watch.." She slipped herself back under the covers, hospitals were so cold.

"Maybe that's what my father meant when he said I would be a disappointment." Wesley said. "It wasn't that I was a bad watcher I just couldn't lead. Nobody respected me nor would they listen to me. I was young and stupid. If I knew half the stuff then I know now. Maybe I wouldn't have been such a complete failer."

He would be a disappointment? Fred could barely believe it. His father had said that to him? What kind of a man... if she could feel her feet she would have jumped up to hug Wes but she felt far too heavy. "Your-*yawn*- not a failure..." she yawned again and felt herself drift off, she couldn't remember why she was suppose to stay awake anyway. She curled up and in doing so placed her face right next to Wesley's, their foreheads almost touching.

Wesley stared at her his heart was pounding. He reached up and ran his hand through her hair. Only then did he remember the pain in his chest. It was like he was being ripped apart. Fred had made him forget what was going on for a little bit and on top of it kept him sane. "Thanks." He whispered lightly. He let go of his reserves just a bit and kissed her lightly on the forehead. He knew he could never have her but it was fun to pretend. He watched her a few more minutes before he himself fell asleep.

"He can't get near me anyways without Ryu slaughtering him. And somehow I feel no where near safe with Ryu killing every guy who bats an eyelash at me. He's is not even my boyfriend! I'm not going out with anymore demons or vampires or anything like that I'm sick of them!" She stated just looking to the floor for a moment. "Hey Angel, as a friend want to know what you see in me. And just as a friend nothing like anything huge."
