haruchan3 And why didn't Sophie punch the witch who stole Howl's heart!? They were ALL going to die for christ's sake!! I know what you mean. If I were in Sofi's situation I would've smacked that witch for trying to keep Calcifer. Sometimes I even think I would've just let her burn up instead of throwing water on him ._.;;

Hahaha, I was watching it this morning with two of my friends, and I was sitting there thinking some of the exact same things, as to why she didn't just beat the Witch up ^^;

has anyone read the book??? Beacause though i love the movie, the book is completely different. And sophie is completely different in the book than she is in the film. She's actually so much nicer and calmer for another thing. and they are missing characters, like miss angorian, howl's family, where he came from (wales) and Wizard Suliman was actually a man. evil Though the way studio ghibli put it makes it some much more interesting and more lovey-dovey than the novel.

Yeah, there are a few of us who've read the novel...Honestly, the novel was a bit confusing to me, which is probably one of the reasons I like the movie better sweatdrop But all the same, I think they were both very well done.

Ok, I'm about to go total annoying fangirl.... just so you are all warned.....SQUEEEEE!OMG! HOWL MAKES ME DROOL! *sighs* sorry, I had to get that out of my system. Ok, that aside, I really love Howl's Moving Castle. I'm sure I've posted here before, but I was just watching it with the children I babysit, and I just had to post again. I love the music in it. It really is incredible. And the art, and the characters, and the story, and yeah. Oh, and I agree with magickarma about the part where his hair changes. It's hilarious! When my friends and I watched Howl's Moving Castle the first time, we nearly fell off the couch laughing, especially when his towel fell off. I actually did fall off the couch. sweatdrop That hurt... Okay, I'm going to stop ranting now. I really could go on for hours. Anyway, I'm hoping to get the soundtrack as soon as I can. Mr. Hisaishi is an amazing music writer. And Mr. Miyazaki is just amazing in general. I really am in love with their work. ^_^

I love this movie, its fantastic, the scenery, script and characters were brilliant. Unfortunately, I haven't read the book but I would like too. The dubbing was pretty good too.

I think this is certainly Miyazaki's most stunning movie, and it's my 2nd favorite overall. The water especially was breathtaking.
Does anyone else find it amusing that Howl goes from looking like David Bowie to looking like Mick Jagger in the course of the movie?
