Abortion should be illegal. I am a christian, but thats not why I'm putting up this fight. Murder it is, and if murder is against the law, why isn't this? There's much other things you can do besides abortion. people don't even give adoption a second chance. And your willing to throw away the few days of pain to get rid of joy that you could give to someone else? You never know what the kid might be able to do. create a cure for aids? and don't say he couldn't do it, because some child that grew discovered how to cure cancer! abortion is wrong for me from many different angles..
God created a child for something. And if you don't believe in God , then what about fate? Everyone believes in something. ABORTIONS WRONG!

All mothers wouldn't do it because all mothers don't believe in it. The choice should be available for those who do. And no, you don't have nothing, there are still all of the wanted children. If you want to adopt, there will still be the unwanted not-aborted children, the ones that landed in adoption agencies because of other reasons, AND artificial insemination. You seem to think there are far fewer children in adoption agencies than there are. :/ Edit:
Besides that, abortion isn't illegal right now and we're still overpopulated. It's not going to change.
What say you to that?

if there was an investigation that took place and came to prove the female was raped, it should be her desicion to get the abortion or keep the child. my homegirl, by technicality was raped, but she kept the baby because she knew she didnt have to drink at that house but she did any ways and ******** up. now she has given me a beautifull god son. anything other than an investigation that proved rape, no one should be aloud to get an abortion in my opinion. they was man and woman enough to do the deed, they should be just as man and woman enough to care for the seed.
thats my opinion.

in my perspective, abortion should be illegal. every life is sacred and even though it isn't breathing, that unborn baby IS alive. it truly is the mother's choice, but that child should be able to live, even if the mother doesnt want to have it. that is just selfish of the mother. and it will haunt her for the rest of her life.

I guess I think it should be allowed as a option, if some religion sais no well that is fine, all the followers of that religion can just not have it, but if there are people that want it and don;t care about all the ethics well they should be allowed it, we got enough under aged mothers mucking up their life as it is. I don;t really think it is living until it comes out or at least until it is developed enough till it gets to that point where it is illegal anyway, in early development it is just a bundle of cells differentiating hardly a conscious organism

Like if it would harmful to the mother or if the baby has a defect that would make it retarded or lame or something. Otherwise, it's a form of birth control and even if the zygote isn't conscious, it ultimately is the basis for a human being and is how we all started out. Teenagers aren't allowed "Do-overs". If they felt the were adult enough to have sex, they'll have to deal with the consequences. Society, in it's desire to keep teenagers from getting pregnant so young, tell them it will be such a hardship that they can't handle. But, I think it's also having an negative effect on the girls who DO get pregnant. They believe they can't handle it and look at it as such a damper on their life. Yeah, it makes things harder. Not easy to get schoolwork done when you have a tiny infant craving attention. Family should be supportive though and help out. I have a friend who got pregnant at 14 and now has a three year old son. She stayed in traditional high school and graduated this year and is going to a university this fall. On top of all that, while in high school, she had tons of extra circular activities she did and during her junior year, she had to fight for child support and custody of her baby. Sooo, teenagers can do it. They just don't want to grow up. They should have thought about that before they took their clothes off. >3> Oh, and I used to be for it when I was 15. o3o I even have a paper written about it.. I changed my mind after I saw what my friend went through though. Sorry for the long response. o.o I get spirited about certain things. >> I'll let it pass, And hold my tongue, And you will think, That I've moved on While I agree somewhat, there is also the problem that having the baby would cause stress and just screw the person up mentally, which does nothing for the baby. That could lead to child neglect or abuse even... I think that it's these rich-a** trophy wives that get abortions every fall or whatever should have to be put through the pregnancy and labor and then let a better family adopt the child. As for overpopulation, that is a problem too, but I don't think it's a good idea to use that as an excuse to get rid of a baby.

Crystal-Jemm in my perspective, abortion should be illegal. every life is sacred and even though it isn't breathing, that unborn baby IS alive. it truly is the mother's choice, but that child should be able to live, even if the mother doesnt want to have it. that is just selfish of the mother. and it will haunt her for the rest of her life. opinion has been stated and while it is a good and strong opinion, every case is different. you can't know what harm it would do to the mother and baby if the mother couldn't honestly handle the stress or responsibility. and I'm not talking about some bratty woman saying 'I don't want it' or whatever, but having a baby is life-changing and it could psychologically damage both the parent and child if the mother really isn't able to be a mother

I really think it should be illegal.
No matter what some people think, it is indeed murdering a human life; the fetus is living not long after conception.
Murder is illegal, therefore abortion should be.
I know some women are afraid of the pregnancy for so many reasons, but nothing they are worried about amounts to murdering someone over it.
Besides, statistics show that most women that have an abortion suffer from physical and mental health issues, causing depression.
Even if a girl was raped and hated the child, they should still go through with the pregnancy and give the child up for adoption. Someone else will love the child, if not them.

Interesting debate.
Anyway, I believe that abortion should be legal. In cases of health problems, rape and incest (all very icky things, I know), it is better to not have of one more life than to risk two.

Statistics may show that but they'd show the same thing for a woman who has a kid that can't take care of it, and adoption centers, like several people have already said but obviously no one cares to read, are not a suitable answer.
