"You like flattery, don't you?" Another pause to take a draw on her cigarette, letting the smoke out with her words as they came to echo through the phone to the ear of the one on the other side. "The boy is of little concern to you or the reprecussions of my acts. Then again do you truly know what I have him for? Is that the real reason I took him? Who knows...certainally not you...one who hides behinds a technological toy and speaks in a silvertongued manner..."
Another draw on her cigarette, before using the same hand to tuck mahogany locks behind her ear. "And shame is something I have never felt. Don't be so vain as to think you know me inside and out, few if any are allowed that pleasure. You certinally have not." Shifting her weight then, and flicking ashes to the floor again.
"Use you? Of course not. Though I can see the value of you in your obscurity to remain tucked away in the shadows, using numbers that cannot be traced, no doubt other such things. But one who hides can be clever as a fox or cowardly as a braggart turly is."

"Flattery is merely a tool fools use to pave the way for their own desires." He shook his head. "When I compliment a woman, I only speak the truth. Don't let that little fact escape you, Czarina." He traced a finger over his lips as he listened to her, letting his own wheels turn and make connections. "Silver tongued. Ah my dear, we both have a bit of the lethal stuff in us now don't we?" He pulled open his desk drawer and studied the gold tube that lay there. "A bit of silver threaded through your plump, moist lips. Gives a whole new meaning to the kiss of death doesn't it?"
He tapped a pen idly and shook his head. He always enjoyed these banters of theirs. "I may know you in more ways than you think, Czarina. You are driving yourself crazy trying to figure out who I am. It burns you up that I know such things about you and you don't know my identity. The quip about the techonological toy is true but I know how to make technology work for me. So do you. You and I are more alike than you might think, Czarina, even though you don't know who I am." Let's twist that in just a bit more. He knew how much she liked to be in control, to know everything there was to know.
"You and I saw each other once but you still don't know who I am. That annoys and intrigues you. You know you adore the chase, the hunt and in the end the kill. Your cold blooded tendencies are as well known as you are." A brief pause and he stood up and walked to the paneled glass that looked out over the small kingdom now divided. "I can promise that I will reveal myself and how I know what I know when and if I feel the need. For now just consider me a neutral third party with an invested interest that might be of a personal sort."

"How can you speak truth such as that when you have never merely met me...met Masika Valeska. All I am to you is the Czarina of Russia...merely a title for you to think you know so much about." No, she didn't like how she was left in the dark on this one. After all, she wasn't in Russia anymore, the land and it's people resources were not at her beck and call.
Though she did touch her own lips at his mention. After all, it was a little known fact about Masika...she liked to lace her lipstick with traces of silver. The top coat at least, the fist just being regular and thus being a barrier between her lips and the silver. Kiss of death indeed...to a vampire. A frown then, flicking her cigarette once more. She was easily working through that one wasn't she? Going to need another one soon.
She didn't like how he was getting in her head either. "The problem with this hunt is that I am not on the prowl, dear Neutral. And when and the deer feels like frolicking in the open field...perhaps the one that was prowling will have lost interest by them. Hungry predators can only wait but for so long before they move on to bigger and better things."

"Accidents happen, Xearus. and I have all teh resources I need to arrange for one to happen to you if you step on my toes to much. be grateful that she brought you here, and be very grateful that I owe her my gratitude for it. Keep on this course, and when mother goes back to russia, and my siblings, I'll be sure to make your life absolutely unbearable for the rest of eternity, which I will ensure for you will stretch out for a very, very, VERY long time."
Fangs bared slightly.
"Now out of my sight. Go find that samantha girl and shack up with her or something. but leave me be."

"I'll consider myself duely warned then...but I find it appeasing that you are as well." Getting up and setting the glass he had been clutching on Darvien's desk, though it was easy to tell that he was struggling with even simple movements. And he then turned his back, perhaps for the first time, fully on Darvien, taking himself out of the room. Though yes it was probably a good idea to go find Samantha. Or if he had to, stay in Semara's room...he didn't want to go back to the basement.

"I told you before my dear, you don't know whether I've met you before that night or not. All I am is a voice, a hidden shadow who hides behind technological toys, a face that you saw for a fleeting moment and didn't recognize. You could have seen me face to face numerous times and you don't remember...."
His eyes narrowed as he heard a knock at his door and a shake of his head to gesture to his minion to wait a moment as his door was cracked open. "Ah but sometimes my dear the lioness finds out that she is actually the antelope. And some hunters never tire of the hunt, the chase, or the kill." He paused once again and realized his time was drawing short. "But I've been coaxed out once before, perhaps a meeting again on more personal terms would be to your liking?"
Sam was moving along the halls, delivering messages and taking care of things when she saw Xearus leave Darvien's study. "Xearus! Are you okay?" She rushed over and grabbed his waist to keep him steady. "You need blood..." Chewing on her lip a moment. "Are you allowed to have some?"

Masika cradled the phone between her head and her shoulder as she dropped one cigarette to the floor, stepping on it with the metal heel of her shoe, before fishing out a fresh one and lighting it, taking to more or less nursing that one now. "You imply some tom foolerly...you indeed are a brave one." Hm, maybe Darvien knew something on this man. After all, he had to have the resources to find something out. Indeed she was half frustrated.
"Well...I am a very personably woman...underneath this cold Russian exterior of mine. The notion is not beyond my grasp...are you offering an invitation?" Flicking her cigarette. "Or are you trying to imply that you wish to meet only to try and rob be of my vampiric life."
He looked up at Sam's voice as she ran over to him and took it upon herself to act as a support system....which he did hightly appreciate. "Thanks Samantha." Running a hand back through his hair before shaking his head. "I'm fine, I just need to lay down for a little bit...and could you call Calin for me? I called but got his voice mail. Can't let him worry...or be stupid."

"Or foolish, I'll let you decide." He tapped his fingers lightly on the desk and studied the leather couch across the room. Tom foolery indeed. He was sorely in need of entertainment right now.
"Personable woman is not the half of it my dear. You have Russian blood in you and we both know you easily run hot and cold. I know personally how hot you can actually be." Was he talking about anger or passion or both? She wouldn't know, that was for sure. It was so lovely to tease her with possibilities. What if's and maybe's usually caused doubt.
"Shall we meet at the same cafe that sealed our fates before? Or are you too busy plotting, planning, and cackling currently?"
Sam shook her head and helped him along to a sitting room snapping her fingers at the others in the room for privacy and then gently lowering Xearus into a big, leather armchair. "I talked to him. He knows you're okay Xearus but it might help if you called him yourself. I understand not now but later." She sat down on the arm of his chair and gently moved the hair out of his eyes. "He's worried about you, that's not going to change until you are back home and in his opinion safe and sound."

She raised an eyebrow at his words, rolling them around in her head and stewing over them. "You seem to think you know a Russian quite well, dear Neutral. She shrugged lightly, studying the glowing tip of her cigarette. "I suppose I can grace you with my prescense. And do know, I find it insulting that you think I cackle. Tsk tsk on you. If you find yourself brave enough...then I'll see you in an hour." Snapping her phone shut and grabbing a passing fledgling. "Tell my dear child Darvien that I have gone out for a bit...and that I want him to look at neutrals. Tell Nicolai that I've gone out as well." Letting the vampire go before walking off.
"Oh good, at least he didn't talk to someone else that may toss him some bad information." Giving a little wave of dismissal as he settled into the soft leather of the chair, letting his eyes close. "I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon...I have to stay here for a bit. I know he's not going to like that and he's going to fight me on it...but I just have to Sam."

He snapped his own phone shut and laughed heartily. "Of course you cackle my dear Masika Valeska. But don't worry, I rather like the sound." He straightened and snapped his fingers to alert his minion that he was finished. "What?"
"The package you wanted is here, sir."
"Perfect, bring it in." He sorted through the various pictures and documents, found the one he wanted and smiled. That ought to get her attention. Would he use it? Depended on how the meeting went now didn't it? He gave a glare to the fledgling and ushered him out then prepared for his meeting with the illustrious Valeska.
Sam nodded sagely, she understood but she knew Calin wouldn't. "I know, but you never know what he might do, Xearus. I'm worried about him. He's not really been himself lately, seems like he's on the verge of diong something really foolish." A shake of her blonde curls. "Can I get you some blood Xearus? Or a nice bed? Anything?"

Xearus sighed. "I've made Calin that way. Truthfully I've been distant for a while now...Masika has been on my case in subtle manner and it's distracted me. He's just worried." A hard look to Sam. "But he is not to come here, you understand that? Darvien will only use him against me, and I have Masika's protection while I'm here." Before settling in his chair and sighing. "No Sam, I'm fine...I just want to sit here...if you could keep anyone from bothering me though I'd appreciate it. I assume a lot of the others here would love to goad me into a fight about me coming crawling back. And I'll call Calin."
She was sitting at the cafe, currently inspecting her cigarette pack. Damn it, if she knew she had been that low she would of fetched another pack before coming all the damned way to this place. Yup, out of cigarettes and she appalued American brand. Maybe she had another pack on her. Setting the empty one of the table top she took to rifling through other pockets...usually kept at least one cigarette with her gun.

Darvien got his message, and the poor messenger boy got an earful..then Darvien literally stormed out of his office, flinging several items at teh wall before making his way to Nicolai and Masakia's room, and hitting the doro once, hard enough to dent the wood in.
Neutrals? Oh he knew of a pack of Neutrals. not thier leader, but he knew the leader's henchmen. or more like a pack of dogs. First he had to be nice and cordial to Xearus, and now this. no, Darvien was not a happy immortal. nto in the least.

A moment later, Nicolai opened the door, peering at the now oh so nice dent that was in the wood before looking to his sibling. Again a short word on his phone before he flipped it shut. He was never going to get to finish that conversation. "Can I do something for you Darvien, or do you usually go around causing destruction to your own home?"

Sam jumped as doors crashed shut and yells echoed into the hallway. "The illustrious Lord Adrik emerges..." God she hated that man. He would be far better off a pile of ashes in her opinion but of course her opinion meant nothing. "It's going to get better Xearus. Calin won't cross the border unless he feels desperate and if you call him and soothe him, he won't feel that way now will he? Would Sika be willing to see him?"
Maxwell whistled as he strolled along up the street and saw her profile sitting there, rifling through her pockets. "Evening Lady Valeska. Searching for something?" he asked casually as he sat down across from her, leaning back in his chair and withdrawing a cigar. "Mind? Of course not, you smoke yourself. You wouldn't happen to have a light on you would you?"
He reached a hand into his own pocket as his hand closed around the steel lighter in his pocket. But he raised an eyebrow as the cigar was clamped between his lips, meeting her eyes inquisitively.

"Don't worry about him Sam...he's restrainging himself for his dear old mother." Giving somewhat of a snicker before he settled again. Yup he could just sit here all night long. "Could I use your phone then? I didn't have mine of me when I left the house...or if I did I can't remember loosing it or Masika took it from me." Shifting lightly. "Masika seems to be a reasonable woman...I don't think she would hurt him. She'd at least grant him a moment of attention."
Ah ha. She knew she always kept one with her trusty Torkarov. Withdrawing the stick from her pocket, holding it between two fingers she looked up as her name reached her ears, formal as ever. "And still I've no name to call you, now do I?" Reaching back into another pockets to pull out her lighter, flipping it open and alight as she placed her cigarette between her lips.
She raised an eyebrow at him as he asked for a light, though he probably carried his own. Taking to lighting her own first her reached across the table, letting him mooch of her own pocket fire before flipping it closed and placing it back in her pocket. A draw on her own, letting smoke escape with a smile then as she leaned on the table on her elbows. "So, is this really the voice behind the phone or merely whom I met last time and know as only the cover?"
