"You can't blame yourself. you know as wellas I do he'd never done anything that bad to you. he may have had you whipped or beaten, but the bulk of his anger is always directed to someone else. if not Xearus, calin. if not them, Semara. anyone close to you directly or close through someone else."
He ran his hand through his hair, and picked up the phone, dialing down to teh lobby.
"Three sets. right away. Double the border patrols, and try to use the human police as much as possible. I don't want any vampires lost if they don't have to be."

She shook her head and dropped her head into her hands. She felt those first tears coming and sighed, "That may be true but he would have never been that pissed off if I hadn't waltzed in there adn completely challenged his authority. Some of the things I said were meant to piss him off but I never thought he would be so cruel..." She was quiet while Lynx was on the phone staring into her wine glass and refusing to meet his blue eyes, so full of concern and at the same time ruthlessly powerful.
Calin took the smack as the joke it was and said nothing. he just rolled his eyes and said, "If you weren't injured..." Then he sobered and grinned, "I wish they would try to eat me, I'll kick their asses right up into their shoulderblades!" Yes Calin was talking big but it made him feel better. Besides he didn't intend to go out alone, he didn't intend to let his Master out of his sight.

A shake of his head slowly and a light chuckle. "You'd call me Half Pint and annoy me to no end?" Followed by another chuckle. Hm, what almsot dying can do to your attitude. Oh don't worry, he was sure he'd be back to being an a** the first altercation they had with those who opposed them joing the Blackrose faction. Then he got a little serious. "Don't blame Thalia Calin...and I can't let Thalia blame herself either...Darvien did intend less for me had I nto resisted or goaded him." Always doing that wasn't he.
Then seriousness came from Semara as well for a brief moment. "Not only do we have to worry about the Blackroses that oppose us, but also Darvien wanting you back." It was the sad truth they might as well admit it. Xearus knew too much, knew the lines of all the elders, knew secrets and names...a little storehouse of valuable Adrik information...and there was no way that Darvien would let him go without a fight. A look to Calin. "We all have to be extra careful. On our first few weeks on this side and always looking out for Darvien and Adrik clan."

don't blame Thalia? "Easier said than done," the fledlging muttered under his breath. He glanced out of the windows for a moment and then said, "Would Darvien actually send someone to try and get us back? I mean, he doesn't know we'er on Blackrose now and that woul dbe foolish. Lynx's people would destroy any Adrik who crossed the border, and they don't play fair. They'd gang up so even an elder would have barely any chance of making it back across alive. More like a pile of ash, mother ********..." He shook his head slighlty and then said, "Besides we're goign to have to get used to this place. It's our new home..."

"Xearus can blood walk Calin. That means he can drink vampiric blood and rather literally have a slid show of thier pasts. Know thier real names, thier secrets, all of their blood bonds, their childer and thier sires." Stated matter of factly as she shifted her hold on Xearus slightly, pulling him a bit closer and she leaned abck against the headboard of the bed. "It's a powerful and rare trait..."
Indeed, how right was his lover? Very. "And he's had me blood walk quite the number of elders so he knows what's going on...and with me not in house that can be threatening. Maybe it's best if we split up for a whi-ow....hey now...I just got over pain."
"Don't talk like that. You're not getting away from us Xearus Calder." Damn straight too.

Calin digested the information surprisingly well seeing as his Master had kept a secret from him. And not only not told him but told Semara. That should have burned more than anything else. But it didn't. Calin had always suspected there was something about Xearus taht made him so valuable to Darvien, something more than his appearance. And now he knew. "So he's going to want you back no matter what." And for the second time that night, Calin agreed with Semara. "You could be extremely useful to Lynx if you know information about teh Adriks. Does Lynx know?"

Sighed sighed, cleared his throat and shifted a little. Yeah, rapid healign lead to a feeling of stiffness, probably bodily shock or something...even his fangs were bothering him to a degree. "Exactly...and Darvien is a paranoid man at times...who knows what lengths he'll go to." A poke at his fangs, which got his hand a slap. "Yes, Lynx knows...I've walked his blood too. And I told Darvien that I had...but I don't know if he believed me."

"Darvien Adrik is a man who really only understands two principles in life. power, and fear. he attains power through fear. your not afraid of him. however, he knows how to make you afriad...if not of him, but what he is capable of. and honestly..Xearus goads him. we both know it. to make sure no one else gets hurt, he goads, prods, adn makes sure that Darvien's anger is focused on him."
A glance to the bedroom.
"My money is he pushed a little too far this time. But he's safe now, and we'll keep him that way if we can."
A knock on the door, and he went to it, gathering the box from teh security, and setting it on the bartop. he opened it up and took a look, and closed it back up.
"Would you like to do the honors, Thalia?"

She shook her head, it didnt' matter how many times he told her it wasn't her fault she wasn't goign to listsen to him. Because the truth of the matter was, the only reason Xearus had even begun to be his whipping toy is because Thalia had gotten the guts to leave. If she had stayed everytime he got upset, Darvien would take it out on her nto the others. She knew very well how irritated her father could get and what he'd do to someone who he believed was his to beat up on. It made her sick sometimes but she had dealt with it for years. She just hated knowing that she had been replaced. "No...you can. I'm not ready to go back in there just yet..."
Calin nodded, that sounded so odd. Walked his blood but it was true. "That's interesting. It does make perfect sense now..." the fledgling became lost in his own thoughts, thinking about Darvien and all the threats he'd made. "But we should be safe now.."

"The world of vampires was never safe, and probably never meant to be. Secure maybe, but never safe. You'd do well to remember that." He sighed tried pushing himself up a little, but he was still just not ready to be on his feet it seemed...and he was all to aware they were all in Lynx and Thalia's space when the two could probably use it...Thalia didn't seem to be doing so hot.
Of course Semara was poking at his mind and picked up the surface thought. "You're quite right about that Xe. We are invading their space...I'm sure we can have David send some blood to our room tonight for us three and then we can figure out this faction joining business."

"Why thnk you, my love," Dahlia laughed and took his proffered hand. She jumped down from the stage lightly, and grabbed her violin case. "How does the rack sound? nothing fancy, just a quick bite. I'm not in the mood for anything really extravagent."
She slipped her arm through his, and strolled towards the door. Thank god it was still night, and they had enough time to go out to eat. She wondered what was happening wit everyone else in the hotel.

"The bike deffinitly, it is so much more fun. Plus you are so sexy when you ride it." She wispered the last bit in his ear.
"I'm ging to run up to the room and drop of my violin, you can chill here. i wn't be a minute." She left Daniel in the lobby, and walked over the elevators. the hotel was odly deserted, but she didn't let in worry her.
She got into an elevator. She began thinking about her life here, and how it had changed so quickly. she hoped that Lynx would give her a job of some kind, becuase she felt that she was living an overly luxurious, and some what vapid, laife stly. It had never bugged her before, but she just didn't feel right lazing around all day with Daniel. She thought that they should be doing something. anything productive. She thought she ight bring it up with Danile.
She also felt weird being so close with him. She could feel his emotions through their bond, and it was slightly disconcerting becuase if she was feeling his, then he was probably feeling most of hers. and she felt a bit like a cradle robber, being several hundered years his senior. It hadn't seemed like a big deal, until she realized that he was still living in the same city as his family, and that he really hadn't ever experienced the greater world. He was still so attached to humanity.
She got out of the elevator, and went to their room. The beds had been made, but it still looked very lived, and loved, in. she dropped her case off and returned to the elevator as promised. Maybe a good meal would take her mind of all this. Vapid. That was the perfect world for how she felt, just vapid.

Lynx nodded, and took the case into the bedroom, setting it down on Thalia's dresser, before taking a seat on the edge of the bed, watching the three of them for a moment.
"I have all the insignia sets here for the three of you. there's on teh dresser, and you need to wear one at all times. I need to get other things arranged, but it's up to you if you want to stay here at teh hotel or find a haven of your own. either way is fine with me."
A moment of silence, and he ran a hand through his hair.
"Thalia is taking this particularly hard, no thanks to a certain someone."
A glare at Calin for that.
"But I will arrange to have you assigned to be doing something as soon as I cna smooth it over. which reminds my Dahlia and Daniel need tasks as well. perhaps I can have the five of you together, safety in numbers. but that's for a later time. right now, you need your rest. and calin and semara coudl use a bit of hunting."
A small grin.
"Feel free to use the rack as you please."

Xearus looked to Calin who didn't look too happy at being pointed out. "Calin...why don't you take Lynx's little present there back to our room. Me and Semara will be along in a moment." And he watched the fledgling as he reluctantly left his side, doing what he was told...though half grumbling about it as he grabbed the case and walked from the bedroom, heading back to thier room.
A sigh and a shake of his head. "She didn't seem so phased as we talked of it going there. I told her he would hurt me, perhaps though she didn't grasp the extent of her father's cruelty. Well...if she didn't know before, she knows now." Xearus licked at his fangs absentmindedly. "Try not to be so harsh to Calin though...he's taking it just as hard if not more so than Thalia...he just gets angry instead of getting upset. Human emotions still run overly strong in him. I'm still waiting for the day he learns some feeling of regret from being what he is now."
He gave Lynx a light grin though. "Thank you though Lynx, for all of this. I know this is going to cause quite the trouble, both in faction and out. Your own clan will be looking to take a pick at us in any way they can and then you have Darvien to deal with as well. We'll try to behave." A look up to Semara. "Got that? No beating the snot out of people."
"Oh you ruin all my fun Xe. Besides, I'm older than you...and taller. I should be telling you what to do." A little squeeze of a hug to him and a look to Lynx as well. "I won't pick fights...but if they start it they best be prepared to finish what they start. And yes Lynx, thank you." She slid off the bed and picked Xearus up easily. "I'll be back one things have settled down to talk with Thalia, I'm sure she could use the girl talk. But for now, I have to take care of my boys...there's really no hope for them."
Xearus blinked. "Geeze...was it this embarassing looking before?" Healed yes, but stiff and probably shaky on his feet, so of course Semara would take to carrying him around. Only thing was not that he was choerent he could see how utterly embarassing it was...endearing...but embarassing none the less.
A final nod from both to Lynx before she walked out of the room with him, stopping a moment to tap into Thalia's mind with some comforting words and giving her a soft smile before she left with Xearus taking to thier room. Oh boy, now would come the fight over who was hunting and staying or rather not doing things...
