I'm sorry guys, but I'm going on a hiatus. My life just went to hell and I need time off to cope with it. My deepest apologies go out to Tim and Cassandra. I had great fun with you guys on Damian, and I hope I'll be able to again sometime in the future. Also to Jaeger, the Finder Quest has been great fun, but I won't be finishing it.

I've been trying to potty train my daughter for nearly a year now.... it's not that she won't do it it's more like she giggles and runs off whenever i ask her if she needs to use the bathroom... that or she just asks for a book and pretends to read it babbling on and on about whatever it is.. though i can't really understand it's really adorable..

though lately she has been asking to use the potty whenever we're out. Just recently we went to my mother's birthday dinner and she asked to go potty.. though i don't have a portable potty.

her: "mommy, i potty! I go potty!"

Me "alright let's go potty." *takes her to a bathroom and looks for a clean toilet cause women can be gross. finally finds one and sits her on it. balancing her on it by wraping my arm around her back.*

Her: I fall in I fall in!! I don' wanna! I get down!"

Me: YOu're not going to fall in. I have you."

Her "i fall in! i want down! I don' wanna! I fall in. I want down!"

so yeah... potty training YAY!

Karate tournament yesterday. My students all did well. My body is currently speaking to me with a forked tongue.

well i tried my hand at cooking today. tried to make a shepherd's pie after reading Scott Pilgrim vol 2. though they made a vigan and i just made a meat one. it turned out okay, but here where the problems i ran into.
1) put too much worcestershire sause makind it too saggy.
2) not enough veggy added in.
3) didn't have it in the oven long enough, so it didn't hold too well, but i think part of that was from the over saused meat.
4) couldn't figure out how my mom make mash patatos the way she does (counldn't call her to ask at the time.) couldn't make them tasest the way she makes them.

all these problems aside, it turned out pretty good. need to cook more often.

Things have gotten a lot better for me.

They put a smaller trach tube in my boyfriend's throat so now he can talk to me anytime (that he is up for it), as opposed to last week when he could only do it when the Resp Tech did something to the machine~ He only speaks in whispers, so it is very hard for me to hear him but, still, it's made me very happy to be able to talk with him again.

I still don't talk to him ever day, as he is sleeping a good part of the time when I call. He's also gotten over the necro or nacro pathy or whatever that he had in his fingers, so he has been online and G-chatted with me a few times too.

Ferrets have been extra naughty to keep me busy as well. Sneaking into the wall from a loose phone outlet naughty. I read for months about ferrets before getting them. The majority of things you read are "my ferret got stuck in a quilt, and couldn't get out so he suffocated!!", so naturally my first reaction when I stopped hearing him scurrying was "OMG HE IS DEAD." He wasn't, the stupid mook fell asleep in the insulation, and peeked his head out an hour later.

Also, at work they finally decided on a method of Triglyceride extraction from liver tissue that had good enough recovery. For weeks they would make me try the extraction again and again, making little changes, and then being upset my recovery was under 80%. The procedure was so annoying, because it would take about 2-3 hours of just WAITING for stuff to evaporate under nitrogen gas. You'd think that would give me 2-3 hours of sitting having fun, but no, it would just be me watching test tubes for that time and making sure they stayed close enough to the gas to get blown away! The procedure not working the way they wanted it was mostly because they scaled down the protocol so much I think. x_x Anyways, despite using a larger volume, it didn't seem to take much longer than the others, and it made the PI (Principal Investigator aka my boss) happy. And the best part is that the majority of extractions waiting to be done will be done by the Master's student on her spring break~! Less work with stinky chloroform for me~ heart

I live!

Life hasn't been partculary exceptional lately, nor has it been stressful either, so I've gotta say I'm not in too bad a groove at the moment. Hours at Toys R Us suck a**, so I haven't been making much money lately. Which means I had to wait a couple of weeks between comic book trips. Le sigh. The Brigeeda I shall live, so fear not for her. She doesn't suffer from withdrawal for long.

My cat decided to have her kittens in my room, on my bed, AGAIN so I currently have four little fuzzies camping out on my floor. Originally, there were five born but one of them (whom my sister had named Jeter) didn't make it through the first night. Second worst midnight funeral for a cat ever. The other four, however, are doing fine but refuse to learn how to walk past the blanket they sleep on. "They" being Skunk, Bauer, and the Weasley Twins. (Pictures forthcoming).

It is our belief they think the floor is made of HOT LAVA. sweatdrop

Quite possibly the best thing that's happened lately is that we finally got our wireless router working. Which means every next-gen system in the house can go online finally! Er, except my little brother's 360, we still have to buy the adapter for that...

And I bought an adapter of my own for my laptop, so I am also currently connected to the interwebz super-duper-expresspath (barring any unforseeable incidents). Which means I no longer need to use the "family" computer...no more waiting until late at night to log on...no more deciding I'm too tired since my bed is right behind me!

FREEDOM!

Er, kinda!

So expect to see me more often from now on, if only gradually.
