"for most of our life, we were the Master's Hunter. human, elves, dwarves, iksar, troll..anything the master disliked. and to make us deadlier. we have a gift, to gain the gifts of others we consume. as well as thier memories. we relive thier lives. years going by in seconds. thier voices remain with us. but we do grow more deadly."
He turned to her, eyes looking at her. predatorial, but there was still warmth there.
"we know the magics of the elves, though we cannot use them. we know thier fighting styles. we know the dwarves in thier caverns, we have gleaned thier endurance. the regeneration of the iskar as well as thier reptilian speed. the brute strength of the troll and ogre. the agility of the woodland elf. the cunning of man. and of course, the viciousness of our own kind. we Hunted them. one and all. so we learned thier body language, made it easier to hunt."
his eyes moved to the stairs.
"Up there..is somethign called a Solarium. and more themed halls. the rooms have running water. we have been in Nailah's room, so we know at least that much. out in the courtyard is our Den, you may have noticed the large hole that leads into the earth."

That pulled a laugh from her. "Remind me not to get on your bad side. It could really prove fatal for me. Plus I don't feel like up to running around much, I've had my fill of running around for a while. Though that is a rather unique way of going about things. Learning and knowing so easily like that." Piper ran a hand through her hair again and then looked outside once more. Big hole, yup. "I've always preferred outside to inside." So saying she stepped outside to give that a look over.

He smiled lightly. someone that didn't hear about that part of him and look at him between fear and hate. he followed her outside, and over to the Den, slinking down into the dark which was lightened by a large amount of candles, some from the animal skull holders and many form the antler chandalier. stone, and bone were the promary components of everything..from teh beds to the chairs and footrests. the pond in teh far back had a garden of sorts around it, a rack for herbs to dry and another one that had something's skin stretched across it. fur and leather abound..with a massive runic circle in the floor. few shelves, mostly nothing on them. one had a childs book and paper and pencil.
"this is our Den."

She followed him down there too, looking around as a child might. Well this had to be one of the coolest places she had seen. Her time was spent walking around, picking and inspecting at the various made objects in his room. "This is wonderful craftsmanship." Yes, it was a nice place really, not the normal thing one would think of when the word den popped up. It was refreshing. "I like it...though I would prefer my place above ground." Her attention moved to the rune circle.

"we like it in the earth. much easier to work with here..and less troublesome."
He watched her with some mild amusement, settlign down on one of the stone beds, when her eyes was drawn to the circle.
"We are a Beastlord. we study the shamantic magics of our people, and the fighting styles of the living animals. and we blend it together. the Totemic spirits favor us, and we are able to grant ourselves and many others thier totemic gifts. we use runic circles and runes to amplify our abilities and power."
He grinned a little mischeviously.
"We are glad you like our den. we hope that touching human bone does not disturb you. we made some of the furniture out of those that had assaulted Nailah during a stay in the local village."
"Would you like us to perform something for you? mayhaps you are interested in what we can do?"

"To the victor goes the spoils I always say." Human bones being furniture bother her? Not at all. It was amusing to her really. Humans had the oddest idea that they were at the top of the food chain. Perhaps a few had learned from Cymarron that they weren't. In fact she sat down on a footstool, elbows on her knees, chin propped in her hands. "Now that is something I would love to see done."

He grinned lightly, and moved to the runic circle, some of the runes glowing bluish at that action. and he knelt down, tracing over certain ones, lines forming between the glowing runes that now had changing hues, rainbow like in appearance. the lines moving between, ley lines. wind moved in the den, a soft breeze at first, then a bit stronger. it formed a thickening mist, clouding all sight of anything in the den...before fading. adn there was no den. it was an open landscape, rolling green fields, blue skies..and several other vahs. playing reading, laughing, talking. though they coudl hear no voices. all colors and all varieties. child to old. Cymarron stood, looking around and crossing his arms lightly..before the scene shifted, like there were fastforwarding a film or lfying at incredible speed..to stop near a solitary female, tiny ans silver, rocking and petting over a large child, that was marked with silver and black.
"This is the Grey fields. the afterlife of my kin. that is Kisshy..our first love, and mate. she was killed some time ago, and while part of her remains in us, a voice to comfort..most of her spirit is here. she cannot feel us, or speak to us, or see us. but we can see her. a gift our Anscestors gave us."

It was rather interesting to watch it all. She hadn't seen such things in a good long while, so it was nice. Atmosphere changed, climate, color, various things. Now in a place that was an afterlife of sorts, but not a limo or anything. The environment was quite comforting. Keen elven eyes took everything in then looked back to Cymarron and gave him a smile. "Nice place." Piper was watching Kisshy and her kit, again as if studying. "How wonderful...you get to see the ones you love that are gone and know they are alright." Crossing her arms she gave a nod. "Some skill you have."

She sniffed the air, it seemed that the room was quiet, or at least, not stirring. She pressed an ear against the door, and gently listened to the sound of mostly rhythmic breathing. She decided that she was going to follow through with her operation anyway.
Opperation 'capture a Fresh Eclipse feather.' began with ease, as she dimensionally steped into the room. She looked about causiously befoer preceding with her plan. She was invisible, but she still caried her scent. She was hoping that the other, stronger auromas would conceal her.
She walked quietly across the room, almost floating, using her wings to keep her light as a feather. Once she was within range of the apparently reseting Eclipse, she scaned over the bed for loose fethers. She only needed one, and any feather would do.. She scanned the bed and found her self staring ath the softest and most chaotic blue fur she had ever seen... Then she went back to her task, and saw the most delicious tasting tail she had ever seen... She shook her head, and scanned the bed some more, each time she steped closer waiting for an opportunity to snatch a feather... She had her head resting on the bed, and she snorted.
She froze... This would not be good if Eclipse awoke...

Nailah shuddered at the thought of her little boy growing up and leaving her. "Indeed it is upsetting to know that those you love so much are willingly leaving you." She watched Tyler eating then got up and grabbed a fork. Coming back she sat down adn took a bite of his cheesecake. She watched him eating and then she saw him all grown up and leaving her. Her baby. Gone. She shook her head.
"Mommy! Stop it. That's mine." Tyler said.
Nailah simply took another bite.
"Mommy." he said again. Then he moved his plate over so she couldn't reach it. "Get your own."
Nailah laughed. "I'm taking food out of my child's mouth." She shook her head and just sat there, the fork forgotten in her hand.

Eclipse's wings folded out and flexed themselves before folding back in. He rolled over as well, readjusting his position and curling himself in his wings. A back paw raised momentarily to scratch at his ear before resting back as he gave his own snort, lost in his own little dream world. His ears twitched as well as his tail, before his fidgeting stopped. Not a feather on the bed.

"I am know for that as well, Ke'Nel is a very good cook... He cheats though, his Corellon basically gives him what ever food he wants, in a quantity that can feed an entire party." Nelphean leaned back in his chair and smiled at Nailah and Tyler.
"Its harder when they come from the 'I live on my own' stage." Nelphean chuckled softly, "Skip the dippers but pay for collage." The elf laughed, quoting television... not that he watched it.
"Well, I should not linger too long, the Misses might awaken and she is oftly upset when I am not there..." The elf chuckled, but didn't feel like saying that joke out loud.
He gazed at Tyler, "To think, I threatened to turn him into me..." His eyes flashed, "The offer is still open, should he wish to learn to pick locks, cast spells, and charm women." The elf stood from the table, and ordered an unseen servent to clean up his mess.
"Tis a wonderful spell, but I must be going. Nice to see you two together once more." He bowed, and disappeared in a puff of smoke. The sound of a thousand people saying 'zop' echoed in the room for a breif moment, as though they stood there and whispered it into the wind.

"It is a gift to us from them. We will not come here when we die, so we are pleased to watching those that have."
A little grin to Piper.
"We have many skills. we cna make illusions of smoke, summon the essences of the animals. we can see things far off in our circle. we can ward things, prevent injury or passage. we can commune with the spirits..and make those spirits on this plane of existance solid. enough to hit or to do simple things with."
The landscape faded, back into the Den itself.
"If you wished, we coudl create in essence anything you desire. though it would be ethereal...as long as we are in a circle. our power is strongest here, as this whole den is connected in runic to the circle here. this is the place we bound ourselves and raven and elias together in a sembelance of siblings."

Aurora cursed at her bad luck. He multed all the time when they were playing... She crept closer, some of her weight went ont othe bed, and he inched her way to his wings...
When she got there, she began to gently shift through them with her nose, Fingers would help... She smiled as her body shifted into her ypung woman form. She wondered if she should copy Eclipse's winged idea, but passed it away. If she wanted to fly, she could. Wings or no wings. She began to rub her long delicate fingers through his feathers, serching feverishly for one hat was loose enough to fall out...
She was blushing as she sorted gently thorugh the wings...

Nailah watched the elf leave and sighed. She watched Tyler eat and took another bite of his cheesecake.
"Mommy!"
"What?"
"That's mine."
She stood up and kissed him on the top of his head. "You don't need all that sugar anyway. Going to be bouncing off the walls as it is."
"I don't bounce off the walls."
"I know," she said laughing. "It's just an expression."
