Did I miss the point or is this thread a cleverly disguised discussion of media manipulation?

Yeah . . . the whole Lady's Man thing was an example of how to get to my age demographic and all. Smart, huh? I''m a genius. That's what it is, you know. Genius.

Making people feel guilty is a good form.

"What have you done to help the world today?"

or

"What will you tell your grandchildren?"

Look at World war(s) propaganda, those thoughts and feelings can be flipped around and used AGAINST violence and war and toward a brighter future.

Actually Aeri= 14

....

and a half. Want... to... drive!

*shudders*
I.hate.driving.
Am I the only one to whom the word "free way"
brings to mind the phrase "screaming metal death-trap"?

I know this is very old, but I couldn't help but respond to it.
You are not alone! I recently earned my license (I was forced to get it) and driving still scares me.

This is one time where Myslec and I appear different, to a point. While Myslec typically wont drive, I will, just cautiously. The "metal death-trap" is something that I try not to think about and try to avoid.

One week from turning 19 and I'm still hanging on to a learner's pemit. The problem, our only car is my dad's work car, and he is worse to drive with than the olicewoamn who tests me for my license.

BACK ON TASK!

I'm not certain I agree with Kurisu_Kaze-Kitsune in that propaganda styled after that which was used to effect in the world war's would srve our purposes. The reason, is that those campaigns utilized negative imagery and tactics (barring whatshername and the "We can do it." bit). Such propaganda is designed to direct a publics focus, and even their anger. This is not something we necesarilly need to evoke.

I dunno, the "What have you done lately?" option seems like it'd pretty effective, it's also has the added bonus of being a challenge to existing governmental powers, which is nice.

Rhetoric doesn't make for the best marketting ploy imo. The guilt trip is a good idea, but it needs to be done in a definate, rather than open-ended way.

I disagree with the whole guilt thing, I tend to find such marketing abrasive as it tends to attack the consumer.

In today's world such a tactic is more likely to make a person feel defensive rather than guilty.
