She watched... and arguement. Is that what the shadows had wanted her to witness? And is that why they warned her and brought her here? And odd thing... Sitting down, she watched them converse. One seemed to be on the verge of an expletive.

Dias recoiled from Brendan's biting remarks. He continued to focus his eyes on the floor, his grin slowly melting into a frown. He knew this'd happen, and perhaps this is what he had wanted from the start.

Dias took in a deep breath, trying to hide his feelings as he spoke.

"Fine, then, I'll just stay here. I'd rather not risk my life on something pointless when I could be doing so much more for Mary's Rose."

"I didn't mean it like that..." Brendan said. "Look, what I was trying to say is that eve if you're the strongest one of us, which I'm not saying, we still are weak by ourselves." Brendan turned his back at him and raised his hands towars the roof in submission. "Fine, do whatever you want" he added. "You're not worth getting a headache over. It's a free country after all, or so I've heard." He took a few steps away and shook his head. "He'll follow on his own" he thought to himself however. "It's a shame. He probably is as good as he says, but he's got a serious problem with that attitude."

Or he is looking for a dramatic end for some odd reason. What he needs right now are friends whether or not he relizes it. Admalia thought as she smirked a little that Brendon had been so loud with his thoughts. "Do as you wish but fighting will not help the church...or anyone else that may need our help. Now you must make the desition and tell me now if we are to set out today or tomorrow." She looked at them all calmly waiting for their desition.

Dias took a deep breath. He knew the way he was acting right now wouldn't help him, nor would it convey what he really felt. Albeit, being selfish was natural to Dias. As natural as his powers. Had he always been this way?...

Dias turned to Rhina, his eyes set upon her intently.

"Let's... Let's just go today. No more waiting. If we wait any longer, more people will fall prey to whatever it is we are to investigate. I'll stick along, but only for as long as needed..."

Dias glanced at Brendan for a moment, hoping he'd take notice of Dias' change of heart.

Alyzandra's head snapped up and she looked at Brendan. "Huh...? What do you mean I should go home and study...? I'm part of the team too!" she protested. She knew her whining would get her no where as she honestly had no idea what was going on. She felt rather foolish about letting herself day dream... especially about trivial things like teenaged guys.

With a sigh, the lavender-dyed haired girl stood up and grabbed her backpack. "Fine... whatever... I'll go home and study..." she muttered quietly, feeling unusually hurt by Brendan. She didn't know why she was even listening to him but she didn't feel up to arguing with him. He was generally right about things. Maybe she wasn't ready to join in the field work.

Brendan was going to give Dias a comment in return about how it was none of his concern what he did, when he heard Alyzandra. A quickle glance was enough to see that he obviously shouldn't have said that thing about her going home. "Wait a second, Lyz, I didn't mean it like that" he said. "You just didn't seem very awake, and... well, you know what, I'm no good with words." "Great, I just had to put the foot in my mouth like that, didn't I?" he asked himself.

Dias glanced once more at Brendan, noticing his bit of trouble with Lyz. As there was nothing better to do, he looked on as the two talked.

A sudden pain assaulted Dias as he yelped, backing away, his lips quivering. He closed his eyes, trying to shut out the pain, but it only grew worse. Dias desperately flailed around trying to find its source to no avail. He strained himself not to make too much noise, hoping no one would notice his suffering.

"Save it Brendan. I'm just a clumbsy airhead. I'd only slow you guys down," she bit back in a very icy tone. She didn't even bother to read the note he had passed her. She just crumpled the paper and stuck it in her bag. She knew she wasn't as skilled as the others were at that point. She had never put much effort into her training, opting only to do the bare minimum required.

Without so much as another glance back at Brendan, Alyzandra stomped up the stairs, the click-clack of her heels echoing through the stairwell. Soon she was out the front doors and on her way towards her home. She had no idea that there was anything lurking the streets because she hadn't been paying attention. Moreover, had she known, she would not have cared. The sun had yet to completely set. Dusk has just started to fall upon the city and she could run home in her high heels if she she had to.

Brendan took a few steps as if to follow Alyzandra out, but stopped. For a moment he almost hoped that the church would fall down over him just to save him the trouble of dealing with his problems. But no, God just had to take a day off when he had a prayer.

"Well, lets go then, shall we?"
Brendan said to the remaining group, obviously missing out on Dias problems.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Brandon stood in a dark alley and waited. It was soon time for his breakfast, something he had been looking forward to. It was just a matter of patience before the sun had set enough for him to take a look outside. Just a few minutes...

Leaving behind the more industrial part of the city, Alyzandra made ehr way towards the more residential area. There were still a few small business loctaed in the area for convenience but it was mostly small homes with small families. Alyzandra lived in one of the small two floor houses with her foster parents. She never knew her biological parents. She had been orphaned as a baby. No one she had talked to knew what happened to her parents.

"Stupid Brendan," she muttered as she passed by a small alley. She just wanted to go home and forget about the church for a little bit.

After about a minute, Dias' pain subsided. Looking up, he was relieved to see that no one had noticed his painful episode. As if assuming nothing had happened, he stepped forward as he spoke to Brendan.

"Right... let's... go..."

Brandon looked as a girl passed by just outside. She would do, he decided. Leaving the alley, he started following her until he pretended to stumble and bumped into her so that she fell. "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do that" he said. "You're not hurt are you? Here' I'll help you up." He stretched out his hand towards her in a helpful manner.

((Just to clarify: Green is for when Brendan speaks. Red is for when Brandon speaks.))

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The group of students started walking towards the park. It seemed like it had already gotten pretty dark since they had first gone into the church. This was their first assignment however, and decisivness was just about all that Brendan felt at that moment.

Caught off guard by the impact, Alyzandra stumbled over her heels and fell to the ground. She bit her lower lip, a nervous habit she had, and withheld a whimper. She would feel foolish crying in front of a total stranger. Instead, she just nodded her head in response to his question and shrugged off his help.

"I'm fine. It happens all the time," she said softly before making sure her scrapes from earlier had not been re-opened by the fall. The last thing she needed was ugly scars on both her selnder legs. She prided herself on her physical beauty and hideous scars would not do. She was counting on her looks to get her places in life.

Admalia watched the interaction amoung the students and then took note of Dias's episode silently but made a note to watch him carefully. She then moved to the side as Alyzandra stormed out. A p***k on the back of her neck told her something was not right somewhere close.

"If we are going we had best move out now. Does everyone know where to get equipment for assignments?" Admalia asked not sure what to exspect.

Janet hadn't shown them that area but they should have been shown it when they first came into this program.
