Shelden blinked and frowned at the wolf, giving a slight shrug while pinned to the ground. He'd get it back eventually, he was certain. He raised an eyebrow slightly at the question, a look of concentrated thinking crossing his face as he thought.

"Well... it hurts to breath... move... I think I'm bruised in a few places... my robes ripped and I don't have the material to fix it... I'm wet... I'm cold... there's a giant cat sitting on me..." He said, seeming to think again before responding, the grin growing wider.

"I think I'll live though... save for those moments I cough up blood..."

The wolf on the book then vanished into a whiff of smoke, Magdalena now as but the tiger on Shelden's stomach. She sighed and decided she should let the young mage up. So, she rose and sat up, watching him.

-is there anything in your book that can help you?- she asked him. -go sit in front of the fire. you will warm up then.- she told Shelden. The fire hadn't been put out, some how, by all that had happened today. -then we can raid the kitchen like you promised- she said to him in a bit of a happier tone.

Shelden gave slight laugh continuing to grin as he sat up. He glanced at his book, pondering a moment before looking back at Magdalena. He shook his head.

"Yah there are... but I'm a little worn out with using magic," his grin shrunk a little. "I'll just heal the old fashion way."

He stood to his feet, walking over and picking up his book, he looked at the pages it'd been on when he done the spell, his sill grin returning.

"Illusion spells. Best things ever thought up..." He commented shutting it and looking back at her. "Who'd destroy the moon anyways? That's pretty stupid, you know?" He nodded when she mentioned the fire, looking down at his soaking wet robes.

"That's a pretty good idea. I should really get out of these. Catch my death and all." He said, a smile beaming when she mentioned kitchen raiding.

"Yes! That most definitly must be done! Nice warm drink, some sound, bread, veggies, fruit, the works! All for us with no one to say other wise!" He said with triumph, shivering a bit as he made his way to the fire place. He placed the book soundly on to of the roaring fireplace, promptly removing his gloves and boots nearby. He took his robe off, ringing it out as best he could over the water pale before folding and placing it near the fire to dry. He straightened the cloth undershirt still on him, the thing also damp but having to do until his robes were fit enough to wear again.

He stretched and yawned, glancing back at Magdalena.

"Much better! Now, how 'bout that kitchen?"

Magdalena nodded and transformed into an owl. -last one gets the cold spoils- she said to him, a flutter of laughter emmitting from her as she flew up and to the kitchen. She hoped for some fun before she retired that night.

Shelden grinned, following after Magdalena as quickly as he could, his limps still achey from his fight.

"No fair! I can't fly right now and my limbs hurt!" He playfully complained, rushing into the kitchen after Magdalena did.

"Now what is there to eat around here? And I'm hoping those cold spoils can be warmed up?" He questioned, eyeing the foods that were around hungrily, his tongue running over his lips with delight.

Magdalena took human form and looked around the kitchen. She walked over to a cupboard and looked in it. "I don't know, whatever a young elf mage wishes." She said. There was something of everything here, but nto a lot, being a small inn. Enough for the residence that never showed up, so perhaps an over abundance would be more accurate.

Bread, fruits, meats, vegitables...it was there for the taking. Even though she'd eaten not too long ago, Magdalena was hungry from using her transformations so much. She got herself some bread, meat, and fruit, and retrieved two mugs. "Here you go." She said, handing Shelden a mug. "This place has hot tea and other such items, you should warm yourself inside as well as out." She said with a shy smile.

Shelden grinned and took the mug, giving a thankful nod as he looked around the kitchen.

"I think that is a very good idea," He replied, setting it down on the counter and searching through the cupboards for himself. He found all sorts of things, all semi-fresh and ready to be cooked. He proceeded to gather a pile of vegetables and herbs, placing a steel pot next to them.

"I'm feeling up for a nice soup myself. Mother's old style in fact," he said, looking around the kitchen and spotting the old heating place in the wall foods were prepared over. He filled the pot with some fresh water, placing it on the spit that ran over the fire area in the heating place.

He kneeled down and stocked the place with wood, taking a sharp breath and letting out little huffs until his breath seemed to spark, similar to what he'd used before. He blew a gentle flame onto the logs, stopping and grinning when they caught aflame and a healthy fire was born.

"There we go!" He replied, giving a little grunt as he stood back up and walked over to the counters. He searched carefully, running a finger gently over the blades of the knife selections until he found one to his liking. He placed it down next to the pile, looking up at Magdalena with a smile.

"Want to help? I swear, I'm not a lousy cook or anything!" He asked her, filling another kettle with fresh water and setting it to the side of pot to warm as well.

Magdalena smiled and watched Shelden work. She absently picked at her bread, watching him and nibbling small bites of it. She blinked when he addressed her, surprised he would ask for her help. She smiled again.

"I've heard of the cooking skills of the elves, I can't imagine what I could do... but sure, if you would like it, I shall help." She rose and walked beside Shelden, her hands folded behind her back as she reached him. She smelled the cooking, and soon her stomach began to growl quietly. She blushed and moved her hands to her front, folding them politely over her stomach. "What would you like for me to do?" he asked.

Shelden grinned, his ears catching sound of her stomach grumbling.

"Oh yah, elves better be good cooks! Just don't mention to much about meat around my kind... a few issues with eating animals there," he said, looking over the knives again before finding a second one.

"Here," he said offering it to her. "You can cut the carrots up. Any shape, way or style you like. Round, long, lump.. diamond. Anything works! Adds something special with varities." He said, sorting the carrots out from the pile and placing them in front of her.

"I'll take care of the potatoes and other veggies. If you finish with those and want to help cut the rest feel free!" He said, picking up his own knife and a potato, swiftly setting to work on peeling away the skin.

Magdalena blinked and took the carrots, curiously looking them over and trying to decide what way was best for cutting. She took some and cut them lenght wise, some round, some diced, and some just oddly chopped. She giggled, actually having fun here, cooking.

"Your secret's safe with me." She said about the meat. She looked over at Shelden and his potato just then.

"If you want to peal it faster, and without cutting yourself, you could boil it a little while then just peel the skin off with your fingers. I don't know if you should be cutting, just because of your recent fight." She said to Shelden. She really didn't want him cutting himself. "Whatever way works for you, just some friendly advice." She said and gave a kind smile to him.

Shelden blinked, looking at the potato he was about halfway done peeling. His face changed a little as he thought it over, looking at Magdalena and nodding his head.

"You know... that's actually a very good idea!" He replied, giving a smile and glancing from the potatoes to the pot in the heating place. The water had just begun to boil now.

"We can use the water already there, no harm seeing as the seasonings haven't been added yet," he said, nodding at her.

"In fact that idea is pretty brilliant! A lot simpler anyways," he flexed his fingers a bit. "A little exercise for them might keep the frostbite from setting in, if it does."

With that he gathered up the batch of potatoes he'd planned to use in the soup, going over and carefully plopping them one after another into the boiling water. Making sure they were all submerged he came back over, pulling the celery from the pile and setting it up neatly in rows side by side to be cut.

"So while those take a few minutes to boil, we can finish cutting up all this. Then, once those are all peeled we can throw everything in the pot, season and enjoy a nice meal!" He exclaimed with a grin, snatching up the knife. He glanced at Magdalena.

"Now this I won't cut myself on for sure. Unless I don't pay attention or something... now who'd do that with a knife in their hands?" He asked beginning to chop the celery stalks into various sizes, his concern for any sort of exact portions rather small.

Magdalena gathered all of the carrots she chopped into a fine pile of mismatched portions and then started on other things for the soup stuff. She looked back at the potatoes as they boiled, finished with the other choppings. Taking a fork, she poked one.

"I think they're done." She said to him. She walked to the cupboard that stored bowls and gathered a rather large one. She put luke warm water in it, to cool the potatoes off before peeling them. She took them out one at a time with the fork and then waited a minute or two, letting them cool in the other water before draining it.

"What are you going to put in the boiling water?" She asked, forgetting if he had already told her. "Everything?" She asked, taking a potato and began peeling it. "ow..." She said lightly, furrowing her brow at it. It was still a bit hot, but nothing she couldn't handle.

Shelden blinked and glanced over at her, pushing the pile of cut up celery bits and other veggies together neatly. He looked at the potatoes, giving a nod before looking at Magdalena.

"Yup! Everything goes in it!" He said with a grin, choosing a potato and picking it up. He blew on it a little, beginning to peel away its skin.

"We just put everything in the pot along with a few herbs and seasoning! Let it shimmer for a few minutes and then, wah lah! Instant good soup!" He said, peeling off the last piece of skin and setting it down. He picked up the knife swiftly cutting the potato into pieces similar to the other veggies.

Envy entered the kitchen with a small rabbit in her hand. She, unlike most of her kind didn't mind eating a rabbit every now and then. She stopped when she saw the two then shruged, they might like some rabbit stew. Unfortunatly her conversation skills were a bit lax, but she could make up for that by keeping it simple.

"Hello." She said softly. "I caught a rabbit earlier if you'd like to add it into your soup I could prepare it for you." She said with a smile. "My name is Envy by the way." She added thinking it was probably polite to give her name. Then she set about preparing the rabbit for eatting, if they didn't wish to add it to the soup she could always roast it over the fire.

The skeleton seemed anxious, or perhaps it was meerly distraught at everything that had happened recently. From fighting for his very 'life' to befrending the one who sought to end it. He even now searched for his old life among the mud-coated graveyard.

With a silent motion he pointed to the grave he had sprouted up from, by now the mud had filled the casket makeing it impossible to see if anything ahd been burried with him. Near the head of the casket a small marker of stone stood, though no name was scratched onto it, only a few remarks from some anonymous writer on what could only be assumed was what he had done to deserve such an anonymous burial.
