Scott smiled and walked out. Out of the room he noticed a change, it smelt much fresher. His nose must have adapted to the smell of death. Which was quite an unpleasant thought, but he was out, and he pushed all thoughts of that room out of his head, that was one thing he didn't want to remember. The guard behind him motioned him forwards, and so Scott moved forwards. This must be some kind of hospital actually, looking down he confirmed that thought, finally noticing he was in a hospital patients attire. But why did he need to be in a hospital, and why would they have a room like that?

But no, thinking of that brought back the unpleasantness, he, wait, he remembered something else. He stopped, until the guard motioned him forwards again. He had been attacked by some creature and had escaped from it, then taken some pills, but why, no, the creeature he remembered only vaguely, but it was a monstrosit- Another memory, a friend turned into something, not the same, something about umbrellas... Umbrella. He had worked for them, they had created... monsters. He had been attacked, poisoned, later attacked again. If he was in an Umbrella lab... He might be next. This was not good.

Outside of cell 4F-D, there was a hallway. That hallway had four similar doors, only different because of their labels. They were marked with the symbols "4F-A", "4F-B", "4F-C", and "4F-D". By the looks of it, each one led into a cell very much like the one Scott had just been in. At the end of the hallway, there was another door, this one without a label. The guard motioned Scott through the door, opening into a much wider space.

"Up here, to your right." The guard's gruff voice sad simply as he pointed to the corresponding location. "Into the first cell against the wall." The entire wall was lined with single-person holding cells, all of them shrouded in darkness. No lights were on in any of the rooms, and the guard's flashlight was the only thing keeping things visible.

"You brought me out of confinement to lock me up again?" Scott turned around, facing the guard, and ignoring the gun. "Why? Why am I being confined?"

"Just be happy your alive, and get in the cell."

There didn't seem to be any way out of it and so Scott walked into the cell. At least it wasn't full of dead bodies. Scott turned as the door closed behind him and heard a lock click. With nothing to do he went to the far wall and sat, facing the door.

"Just be happy you're alive, and get in the cell." He said with a sigh. This could hardly be considered just. This man was alive, and that separated him from just about everything else on this floor. He wasn't exactly sure why they needed this man to be kept here, or why he was alive, or why he was even here in the first place. But was pretty damn sure that he deserved to be out.

The guard disappeared for a few minutes, taking a door northwest of Scott's current position. The room beyond was just as dark and grim, anything inside remaining hidden. When he came back, he was holding something - a plate. It had some questionable substance on it, vagurely similar to mashed potatoes....

Bringing the plate up to Scott's door, he placed it on the floor and slid it into a tiny slot at the door's base, just big enough to fit. "Take this," he whispered quickly. "But be careful with it." His voice sounded wraught with panic, trembling noticeably.

Scott moved forward and grabbed the plate. "Thanks." He then took it back with him to the far wall, and ate quickly, scooping it up with his hands. He'd had better food but at this point it tasted pretty good to him, especially after not eating for a while, at least he didn't think he had eaten in a while. But either way it tasted good. He just hoped he could get out soon.

Once he finished he moved back to the door, sliding the plate back out, a few moments later he watched it get taken away and he moved back to the far end of the cell. And then it struck him. Why had the guard sounded panicky? Was feeding him dangerous? And if that was the case, what had been done to him?

Staring at the plate in disbelief, the guard slowly let it drop to the floor. It fell silently, the only noise happening when it stopped spinning. But standing there wasn't going to help anything - he had to try something else. His first attempt obviously hadn't worked - proof being he had gotten the plate back at all. But how...?

Before he could make up his mind, it had been made up for him. A silenced pitol shot echoed softly in the massive hall, piercing right through the guard's neck. Two more entered his chest, spattering blood on the wall behind him in grotesque shapes. He died instantly.

About a minute later, a quiet
click came from the door to Scott's cell.

Now what, moving me to a new cell?Scott sat there, they could come and get him if they wanted to move him. But after a few minutes of nothing he decided something was definately wrong. Standing up he walked to the door and softly opened it. And immediately he saw the guards body. A frown on his face he bent down and looked at the body. It was sad that this man died, he hadn't really been his captor, he had given him his own cell, and food, and in the end let him out, which he supposed he should thank him for. And now he had a gun.

Gun in hand he stood up, he didn't want to search the guard for extra ammo. Muttering a soft thanks he moved along the wall, away from where he had come in. He passed a few more cells, but they didn't interest him, he needed a storehouse, or armoury, or somewhere that might have more ammunition, as well as suitable clothing.

Quickly circling the room Scott reached a door that didn't lead to a cell. After finding it locked he had hurried back to the guards corpse. He mumbled an apology to the corpse and searched it, coming up with a key ring. Hurrying back to the door he discovered none of the keys worked, but still they had to work somewhere and so he kept them.

He found another room that wasn't a cell, next to a powerless elevator, and entered it, finding a staircase. He cautiously headed down it, gun in his right hand pointing down, keys in his left, held at his side. He froze each time the staircase took a turn, and made sure nothing was there before continuing down, the suspense was making him jumpy. The killer could be anywhere, and this seemed like the only place he could be. He quickly got down to the next door, finding yet another staircase, and a door. He cautiously opened the door, only to find another guard. he slowly closed the door, and the guard walked by as the door shut. Letting loose a sigh of relief, he turned and headed down the stairs until he reached the next level. Seeing no door he again went down, though he was still pretty jumpy. He heard a door open above him and quickly hopped down the stairs, heart pounding.

This floor had a door, no stairs though. Nervously glancing up he tried the door, to find it locked. Switching his gun for the keys he tried three, and on the third success. Quickly moving in he breathed another sigh of relief when he found it empty. Ignoring the doors to his sides he just hurried down the hall, until he finally reached a point where he had to open a door. It was locked but he managed to find the right key first shot. He continued in this new hallway, and went through another door, leading into a monitor room. It showed the rooms he had already been to, and so he ignored it, heading into another room. A generator room. The generator was off, turning it on would probably get the elevator to work, but it might also alert the guards. After a seconds deliberation he turned it on and it slowly hummed to life. Exiting the room he looked at the monitor, the guard on the third floor didn't seem to notice. And now, to the elevator, hopefully it would work.

HUNK and Destiny, a long time ago...
As they came upon the tunnel and Scott carried on, Destiny heard the thud of heavy footsteps behind them. Turning on the heel of her foot, she knelt down and shouldered her gun, aiming into the darkness in front of her, the laser pointer on her striker faded off in the distance. She waited for whatever it was to that approached them to get into view.

HUNK turned simultaniously with Destiny, bringing up his TMP as well. He knew that whatever it was that was coming up behind them probably wasn't good, but no sense in waiting for it to make the first move.

The monstrous footsteps stopped, their echo carrying on in the dark and quiet tunnel. At first, there was nothing but the sound of scraping against metal. Then, the sound of metal being torn apart. Silence engulfed the small passage again -

- until one of the many ladders HUNK and Destiny had passed came soaring towards them, ripped right off of the wall and traveling at deadly speeds. It's shredded metal ends were pointed towards the mercenaries, ready to pierce their comparatively frail bodies.

Neither of them had quite expected what they got, and weren't well prepared. Destiny fired a couple of shots into the darkness ahead of them as the shredded ladder came flying at them. She cursed loudly in a couple of languages and hastily stood to move out of it's path.

HUNK, much to experienced to even think about wasting bullets firing into the dark, grabbed the back of the collar of Destiny's vest as she stood, and pulled her into the tunnel at their side. He fell to the ground from the maneuver, Destiny landing on top of him, but they both managed to get out of the way.

Destiny hurried to get off of him and onto her feet so HUNK could do the same. She got her gun ready again, and leaned against the tunnel wall. HUNK was a bit slower to get up, after all, he was just used as a cushion, and he didn't have the ability youths had to spring right back up. As he stood, he thought bitterly, I'm getting to old for this....

Taking his place behind Destiny against the wall, HUNK looked at her from behind his face mask. Destiny returned the glance from behind her visor, and knew what he wanted. She nodded to him, then jerked her head in the direction they came from. Getting a tighter grip on his gun, HUNK pivoted around Destiny and back out into the tunnel, gun aimed and ready.

A near-inaudible, clinking sound at Destiny and HUNK's feet as the incendiary grenade hit ground and rolled, stopping mere feet away from the pair. Another touched down, landing short of it's target and leaving them safe of the blast radius.

Each exploded two seconds after impact, bursting into a pyre as tall of the tunnel's ceiling. The dancing flames clouded view and sent eager tongues of fire towards Destiny and HUNK's uniforms, desperate to burn their human skin. Even as the flames ceased after a few moments, the smoke stayed, obscuring any sight near and around either mercenary.

Scott quickly made it back to the elevator, and with the power on the elevator doors opened. What he saw didn't make him happy though. He turns the power on and now he just has a quick way back to the floors he's been on, B1 and the second and fifth floors needed keys. So he went to the third floor, maybe the guard had left, he had heard a door close after all. And so he pressed the button and the elevator quickly rose.

Handgun held in front of him Scott cautiously left the elevator. Finding no one there he made walked to the door he had seen from the stairs, and pulled it open quickly walking in.

This room was for food, and Scott realised then how hungry he had been. Quickly grabbing a nearby package labeled, "Chicken Fingers - A". He tore it open and ate it, ignoring the taste. Finishing it he grabbed two more, likewise finishing them quickly, then found some water and drank it. Full, he decided to see if there was anything else. A large refrigerator dominated part of the room, quickly checking it he found nothing of interest. The table likewise had nothing of interest, just meat. In fact, nothing in the room was useful, but at least he had a full stomach. And hopefully he would find something else soon too.

That unseeable enemy

HUNK heard the sound of the grenade hitting the floor, and with a sinking feeling in his gut, he knew what it was. Turning back towards Destiny and the tunnel he had come out of, he knew she hadn't recognized the sound. HUNK gave her a single order, his rough voice tinted with urgency, but still calm. "Get down."

It all happened in a split second, and to Destiny, that moment seemed to be going at slow speed. She had heard a slight noise, but couldn't make it out, and the next thing she knew, HUNK had turned on her and told her to get down. Not foolish enough to hesitate, Destiny turned on the ball of her foot and threw herself to the ground as behind her something blew and flames exploded everywhere, licking at her legs. She covered her head with her arms, recognizing the blast as the work of an incendiary grenade. The flames only reached the lower part of her legs and her boots, as she had managed to get out of the worst of it, but HUNK had been behind her...

When the blast ended, Destiny moved quick to put out the flames that burned on her pants. Her boots were resistent enough and had only heated immensly. Destiny coughed roughly as she breathed in the smoke that filled the area, and called out for HUNK. She was answered by a disgruntled grunt off to the side of her.

HUNK had been caught in a good bit of the explosion, not having much time to get out of it's range, but luckily for him, his suit was built good, and only a few places of his skin were touched, and the flames hadn't reached much of his torse. A few quick slaps and the flames were out. His mask prevented him from breathing in any smoke as well, but even the night vision mode on his mask wouldn't allow him to see through the smoke, and thermal vision was pretty pointless at this point. Though HUNK couldn't see very far, he knew Destiny was somewhere to his left, and she confirmed this when she called out to him, just as he finished slapping the last of the flames out.

He gave a grunt as he started to get up and the few burns he received protested the movement. His gun was still in his hand, but it was useless if he couldn't see what to fire at...

The other door in the room was locked and so Scott found himself back in the food storage room. The desk in here may not have had any keys but maybe some of the papers would prove useful, aka one might have the code for the electronic lock on the other door, or there might be a card key he missed. Sorting through the papers he was disappointed, finding nothing, until he opened a folder, a card key falling out. He smiled, though he didn't know how he had missed it, this should work on the electronic lock.

Leaving the storage room he headed to the electronic lock, and after inserting the card key was awarded with a soft ding. He pulled it out, and first thought was that he really needed some clothes, he had the keys and key card in one hand, gun in the other, he really needed pockets. But hopefully there would be some in the next room and so he opened it.

He immediately felt a soft breeze, and he smiled, fresh air had never felt so good. Looking around all he found was a bridge, and two floors down a courtyard. There was a table and some chairs on his side of the bridge, with cups that he found upon closer inspection were filled with wine.

Across the bridge Scott found a door that he managed to open with his keycard. This room contained biohazard suits, along with bodybags in corner. There was also an airlock which likely led to another room. Made Scott wonder who these people were. But still, these suits weren't that bulky, in fact they almost looked like something someone he had met recently worre, Hunk or something. He placed his gun and keys on the ground, took off the hospital clothing and quickly slipped into the suit. He managed to find somewhere to put his stuff and so he headed to the airlock.

Which he found was electronically locked, and beyond his keycards capabilities. And so he left the room, and as he passed the table again he noticed something on one of the chairs. Picking it up and looking at it more closely he found that it was an ID badge. Belonged to some Hunt, E. And there was a magnetic bar on the back. Smiling he headed back to the airlock, and failed again. There must be some use for it though and so he pocketed it.
