Nathan smiled as the bird did chirp again. "Egyptian?... You mean like the Egyptian cat goddess right?" He asked, " I was thinking that too, but I don't know if it's a girl or a boy. I could say it's a girl.. Or a boy... I don't know. Well, at least I don't have a hives from her.. Him ... It?" He joked and looked at his open palms, making sure that they were free of rashes. "I thought about naming her Becquette, but then I think it sounds too much like baguette and then I get hungry... So maybe Bas-ACHOO!-.... Excuse me..." He sneezed.
He looked at his kitten and then a concerned look fell over his warm face. "I wonder how I'll feed her... She needs a dish pan for food and such... Hamish has good one in his room ... Maybe I can go get it and fill it with some cream for .. It.." He thought out loud, almost forgetting that he was talking to his bodyguard as he already started getting, but found that his fever made the room spin as he stood up.

"Perhaps I'll go to the kitchens for a dish pan. You should stay and rest," Garrat suggested as he helped Nathaniel settle back down to bed. After that, he left and made his way to the kitchen, though not before he instructed Reynard to make sure the prince actually stayed in the room. It was already made clear that the bird could understand human speech, so perhaps he would listen to instruction.

Garrat had headed to the kitchen and the prince was just about to get up and check out Hamish's room, when the bird known as Reynard began whistling and pecked Nathan until he returned back to bed. "Ow! Ow! Okay okay!! I wont go anywhere!.." He murmured huddled back in bed. Nathan rubbed his neck and figured that, despite his cute and friendly nature, Nathan's fun had dwindled significantly because of this bird.. Then again, he wasn't feeling all that great today so rest was probably for the better..

Garrat soon returned with a dish of cream. Seeing that the door seemed untouched, the knight assumed Reynard had done a decent job guarding. He would have to get the bird a treat soon. "I'm back," Garrat announced as he entered the room. He set the dish down by the bed for the kitten. "I assume Reynard has been taking care of you." The starling chirped proudly and perched on the knight's shoulder once more.

Nathan looked away in a sort of defeated and sad grin. "Splendidly..." He muttered. His kitten happily hopped down and began veraciously licking up the cream. "Hey, Garrat, can I ask you something?" He lays back in his and looks at his friend, with a bit more serious look on his face.

"What question do you have?" Garrat asked. He was a bit nervous about what Nathaniel might ask. As of late, the prince seemed to be taking an interest in Garrat's romantic fancies. A horrible liar as the knight was, if Nathaniel ever asked who he liked, it would be difficult for him to hide his secret. It was a mystery how Garrat wasn't found out sooner, especially in regards to how little he showed interest in women.

Nathan's face sort of turned solemn and he sat up, wrapped his arms around his pillows and put on a sad smile. " Well... I know what the rumors are... And you're my best friend.... I just want to know..." At first, it didn't seem good for Garrat's paranoia. Nathan had wondered such things, but figured that if Garrat was in love, he'd surely tell his best friend if he wanted to. But then he bit his lip and fiddled with tassles on the pillow. " what will you do when I die?" He asked curiously with inquisitive eyes.

Well, this question was just as bad. "I'm not sure what I'd do..." Probably guard his grave if his family decided to bury him in a decent one. Garrat averted his gaze. It was highly likely that the knight may outlive the prince. Almost too likely, but Garrat tried to keep his mind off it. He didn't want to imagine a life after Nathaniel. "To be sure, I don't like thinking about it."

Nathan wasn't too satisfied with that answer. "Will you promise me a few things...?" He said with a shockingly happy smile. " you have to promise me that you'll become captain of the guard! That way, you can enjoy everything outside..." He announced, " and.. Maybe even get married to a beautiful woman.. Maybe not a girl like Rosa, but someone you love... " he imagined Garrat with a strong horse and happy outside in the courtyard. " how does that sound?" He asked, cheeks rosy and pink as he imagined a life better for his friend. A life he wished he could have. "At least you wouldn't have to be stuck with me after I'm dead..." He muttered out loud with out a tear in his eyes. Sometimes he'd degrade himself about his own health because it makes him feel smaller and he didn't have to think about the grand responsibilities of being the Prince he'd never get to be...

"Don't think like that, Nathaniel," Garrat said, almost pleading. "You sound as if you've already given up..." The train of thought was annoying and depressing. If only Nathaniel knew how much the guard would be affected by his death!
Garrat felt a frightening urgency now, as of Nathaniel's time was running out. At the moment, there was no way to tell, but the knight still worried. "Maybe... maybe there's a way you can get better. We can already see medicines alone can do nothing." He briefly considered looking for a witch, but his reputation would be ruined by association with someone of witchcraft. Perhaps it may be worth it if Garrat could obtain a cure? Maybe as a lost resort... Another idea suddenly hit. "As soon as you get better, you shall train with me," the knight declared. "I've seen the weakest of men become strong soldiers through training. It should be worth a try."

Nathan's expression changed, his eyes widened at Garrat's words. Giving up? Is that what he sounded like? At first he was going to try and deny the ideas of curing him but then he demanded that the prince join him to train! For some reason, that suggestion made the tears fall. It meant that Garrat wanted Nathan to live. At least thats what he thought. Giving Nathaniel a reason to get better every time. Garrat was becoming Nathaniel's incentive to live and it made him so happy.
With tears falling down his hot cheeks, he smiled and nodded. " okay! I'll look forward to it.." His heart raced and the sight of Garrat's face made his whole body warm. "Hehe... I'll do my best ... For you~" he smiled as the kitten hopped back in his arms and cuddled it with such happiness.

Garrat became worried when Nathaniel began to cry. Had he said something wrong? The prince's smile, however, assured him that Nathaniel's tears were of joy. His happy face warmed Garrat's heart. "You're looking better already. Just rest and we'll start your training soon." He may have to get the Queen's permission, however, and he wasn't sure if she would let Nathaniel anywhere near a sword, much less outside. Well, they could start in the room. There were plenty of ways to strengthen oneself indoors.

Nathan sighed happily. An odd feeling stirred in Nathan's chest at the idea of Garrat and him being together for a long time. He liked the feeling.. a little. It fluttered his heart and it made his whole body feel warm. He figured his reasons but kept quiet and looked over to cat and then his drawing desk. "Oh.. I forgot that I took a book from Hamish's room and I forgot to return it. Would you mind returning it for me?... " he asked. " I promise that I won't leave.." he cuddled against his kitten and rested in bed after pointed to the book on his desk.

Garrat simply nodded before taking the book and leaving to return it. There was no need to instruct Reynard to keep watch over Nathaniel. It was likely the prince wouldn't do anything to slow his recovery, and that included leaving the room. The knight soon arrived in Hamish's room and knocked to see if it was empty. As there was no response, he slipped in, quickly left the borrowed book on a desk, and just as quickly was about to slip out. Flegel seemed to take notice of him, but the knight didn't have the time to keep the parrot company.

Just before Garrat could leave, there was movement in Hamish's bed. But instead of a sleeping Hamish, there arose a naked Richard! He rubbed his eyes and stretched his arms suddenly surprised to see Garrat. Richard and Hamish have a similar relationship like Garrat and Nathan. They've known each other for years and grew up together. Only difference was that it was Hamish, the most good looking out of the four siblings and Richard was the son of an incredibly wealthy merchant. "Oh! Garrat... What are you doing in here?" He asked, " if you're looking for Hamish, he's taking a bath..." He sat up with his bare chest and blanket covering his knees.
