 ~x~ Natalia Kill ~x~
Natalia nodded. "Muramasa was handed down from my greatest grandparent. It's a cursed sword, but very powerful indeed." she said. "Only one worthy of wielding the blade is allowed to survive. If the user is too weak, Muramasa would feed on it's soul." she turned her gaze to the hilt of the sword. "It was originally used to kill demons. But, I guess it doesn't matter now." She could almost hear every word that her brother had told her about the sword replay over and over in her mind. To wield a sword like this would mean great power, and they would need much knowledge about it first. Be weak and be eaten. Be strong and survive. It wasn't because of the sword she wanted to get stronger. It was because of her father that made her want to get stronger.

Meliora Stool You might think you're crazy...
...Seeing stuff there and here... ...But trust me when I tell you...
She froze for a second, then relaxed. Her name, her name... should she tell them her name? What if her enemies were looking for her? They knew her name. She needed to trust these people if she was going to give them her name. The girl wouldn't be happy with her old nick-name 'Shadow Child', she was sure. Mai had given her entire name and she wanted Meliora's entire name. "Er," she began after a pause "I'm Stool." She gave a quick smile "Night!" She pulled a small folded up sheet of cloth from her thick baggy cardigan and unfolded it, then lay a little way away from them, but still where she felt the fires warmth. Meliora blinked a bit and then fell asleep.
That just means I am near.

Roland Deschain Roland looked at Landon and grinned slightly. This man had reminded him much of Eddie Dean of the New York before this apocalypse. Both were witty and made jokes when they were under a great deal of stress. Roland watched the two converse, most likely going to be a couple much the same of Eddie and Sussanah Deans. Though this was good (always good to have a lover) it meant that risks would be taken less and until he taught them how to shoot and the old poem, they were otherwise helpless unless it came to close combat. Landon already made a good shot, although that may have been Ka at the work instead of the old excuse of luck, Roland still felt that Landon had more training to complete if her were to be anything like Cutheburt and Eddie. He felt a little sorry for this man, having to live up to two of his greatest friends, but wiped it from his mind. This was his last quest, the endgame and he would be damned if he failed all because he loved his Ka-tet. He tried to block it. Couldn't. He truly loved this Ka-tet for it's strange ways and comedic routines, albeit accidently, like Landon of Maine. Roland turned his eyes away from the two and glanced at the girl. She had said her name was Stool, an odd name do to it's second meaning that Roland didn't know. This girl was strange, she siad her name only to sleep the enxt moment. Roland found this suspicious but otherwise ignored it. The girl went away from the group and slept and Roland tried to ignore it, but coulddn't. He stood up and walked over to her sleeping figure. "Excuse me, Stool," He said lightly and with some hint of a parently voice. "You best come over by us, theres some folken out there that mean us harm, and likely anyone who's around us. Wouldn't hesitate to kill or kidnap a little girl." his fine turned ear picked up some voices but they were too low for him to understand a single word.

"Does anyone else here bone cracking?" she asked. The dark presence came over her again. "The Drow hellspawn...." she said softly.

Sinaris Freohr Demon hunter"A demon hunting sword,hm?" inquired Sinaris."Interesting, although I suppose it is fitting for a sword to have a certain effect on its user if its purpose is to slay demons. As a demon hunter myself,I know that killing demons can take a lot of effort from some people.Muramasa,I think I've heard that name before....." His voice trailing off,Sinaris suddenly froze. He was suddenly recieving the feeling that they had been detected again, though because of what he was not sure.He looked at his gauntlet and got his answer;the orb was flashing faintly and augmenting his senses using its power. He could now tell whether people knew of his presence or not. Sinaris, fixing his eyes in the direction of the campsite, spoke to Natalia without turning around;"We are running out of time. Now that there are two of us and I am prepared, there is no reason to hold back from attacking the gunslinger any longer. Are you ready?" Meanwhile,Sinaris thought about the Black 13 more and more, concern and caution arising in his mind. The fact that its evil magic was able to get into him and give him the ability to be aware of detection meant that some of its influence had gone into effect in him.The fact that he could still fully control and be aware of himself both physically and mentally was good and meant that the Black 13 was not able to fully influence him and drive him mad.........at least, not yet. The Black 13 is able to gradually bend my will to its own desires, but it is beyond my ability to do the same.I can only control its power because it allows me too,my own will only plays a small part. But until Roland is dead,I cannot dispose of the orb, however long that may be.Even then, there is the question if I will be able to get rid of it.However,I may not even have to get rid of it;likely I can indefinetely resist its influence.

Natalia turned her head toward the camp site and smiled darkly. "I've been ready." she said. She shifted her sword so it sat on her hip. She rested her hand on it's hilt and almost heard the blade growl in approval. She guessed that Muramasa had been waiting for this moment, to cut into one of the followers of Roland. Just as long as she didn't have to go face to face with Roland himself. There was something about Roland that made her feel uncomfortable. Out of the corner of her eye she thought she spotted a look of concern and caution pass Sinaris's gaze. Probably thinking about the Black 13. she guessed. The orb did sound familiar to her, but she just couldn't place it anywhere.

She frowned at him, then sighed and got up to move herself over, when Jenny started fussing about a cracking sound. Meliora looked at the cats, knowing that an animal would get spooked before danger appeared. Though as far as she could tell, they looked okay. She settled herself down and pulled the blanket over her, then called to Jenny. "I think you're hearing things, just watch the animals if you're unsure." With that, she turned over and went to sleep.
That just means I am near.

Landon Yates "Yeah yeah, thats what they all say. If i wanted some advice on love i would have read some teen girl magazine." He said smiling again. She was nice enough, not everyday someone fixes you up and hands you some alcohol just as soon as they met you. He took a few sips. It immediately ended his want for alcohol. He would have sighed in relief but Mai pulled the wrapping tightly and he cringed in the sudden pain. After the pain had ceased and she leaned him against the wall. He looked at her and asked in a playful tone. "Well you waltz in here and fix me up. I'm interested in hearing your story Miss Du L'ort" He took another sip and set the alcohol aside. He didn't like drinking alot of beer when he had nothing to eat, he didn't like being drunk. He looked at the sword Mai was carrying and was a little shocked by her weapon choice. He was no zombie expert, but he felt safer with a gun on him, rather than a sword. He shrugged it off and looked at the giant six-shooter Roland had given him. He saw Jenny walk in and shook his head when he asked if they heard anything. "I can barely hear anything over those damn cats." He said indicating to the kittens who were meowing and hissing as they playfully fought each other. He felt better because of the alcohol but what Mai was doing to him still hurt like a son of a b***h.

Mai Du L'ort Strange. She thought when the girl told her her name and went to sleep. She decided to ignore it, for now. She looked back at Landon and lifted her right eyebrow up and coughed a laugh. "I'm afraid you wouldn't have read just some teen girl magazine or none at all since you said that's what they all say." She grinned. She sets a finger on her chin. "My story?" She retrieves it to sit down next to him with her back against the wall. "Family-matter, hm. My mother has gone over seas to try and catch the biggest bait out there. Well she did all right. Got pneumonia. Came back and died shortly after." Her eyes strangely violent and serious. "My father. Came home drunk." She sighed and ready'd herself to speak again. "Went insane after my mother died. He decapitated himself." She shook her head disappointingly. "Them two were lovers but due death do them apart I say it's right. Look what happened." She coughed a laugh and picked up the bottle of beer that Landon set down and holds it up as to say cheers and nods her head politely. "But that's all back there." Another sip and a hand to her sword. "This sword was my papa's." She re-spoke. "As you guys would call, grandfather. This sword was the one I found out back of his shed here in New York. He worked in these parts, therefore I came here. But as it seems. There's a plague out here now i'm afraid. Don't know where it came from and don't care. As long as I found survivors who aren't flesh eating creatures." She coughed a laugh. " I'm an animal lover." She looked over at Mimi, her cat. "And yet I fed off of 'em." She shrugged looking back at Landon. " Not much to say. I don't like being threatened nor played around when it comes to my body." She hardened her posture in defense at the memory of past attempts of guys she came across. "I'm not an outdoor cat." She stood up. "Rest here if not for those wounds there will re-open." She went over to Jenny who said she had brought food for everyone. "Why hello there." She paused at her question to everyone. Then looked back at Roland who stood by Stool. "Wait or go round the blocks?"

Roland Deschain Roland considered the position his tet was in at the moment. The others would want to sleep and get rest, while his enemy no doubt planned for another assualt on them. He sighed and stood up. "Alright," he said. "we rest for two hours, no more no less. Once we are all rested -at least partially- we set out and don't come back. The door to Mid-World will have trouble staying open and I don't doubt that once we get there we will all be far from each other. The journey will consist of all of us as one." He looked at the new girl who'd tended Landon's wounds. "The will be permitted to journey along with my Ka-tet." He looked at the darkness coming around them as day turned to night. He looked a the fire, the dim light seemed like the sun in all the darkness. A beacon of light, if you would. For now, the enemy hadn't attacked and this frightened Roland slightly. Mayhap they were amassing an army of some sort. This would be a problem since his Ka-tet weren't well rested. He'd lied when he said they'd get two hours of rest. They'd be lucky if they got more then five minutes. He stood up and looked at them, all sitting around the fire save for Jenny who had gone out and grabbed food. He spoke with strange calmness. The calm before the storm. "I'll be first sentry tonight. The rest of you will sleep."

Landon Yates Landon listen to Roland's orders thought of a witty comment. Looked at Roland and bit his tongue. Roland didn't look like he was in a good mood so he would save that comment for later. He looked at Mai and nodded as she told him her story. "Cheers." He said and smiled "If God is watching us, the least we can do is be entertaining." He said and laughed a hardy laugh. He was never good at dealing with other peoples griefs but he made an attempt through his pointless jokes. He saw Roland was going to take the first watch. He frowned, that man looked like he need a good 3 years of sleep to catch up. He also knew he was tired. He had a rough day fighting the whip guy and then getting stabbed. He felt in his pocket, and the two knifes clinked together indicating they were still in there. He smiled. He sure would like to stab that whip guy with the damn knives he threw into Landon. He looked at Mai as she stood up to go talk to Jenny. Even though she said she didn't liked to be played around with her body. He couldn't help but admire it as she walked toward Jenny. "Woo! Spanish girls." He thought and grinned. "Ey, Roland. If you get tired wake me up. I can at least make a lot of noise is that whip guy comes back." He said laughing a little. Then he leaned back and rested his sore body.

Mai Du L'ort "Ka tet? A group. Very well then." She nods politely. "I will travel as five." She took petal looking niblits from her pouch and gave it to Mimi, which muted the cat. "Father was a scientist. Trying to reach immortality." She shrugs. "The least I can do to keep us out of hearing. But it seems like you four haven't moven yet from this battlefield no?" She looked over to dried up blood stains on the floor. "I'm afraid not." She fed the other two kittens the niblits and placed the leftovers in her pouch. She walked in front of Roland and pulls out a whistle. Not an ordinary whistle. A silent whistle that only humans can hear. "Need anything, blow on that thing and we'll sure to come. Or at least some.." She looks over to Landon then back to the gunslinger. She opened his hand and placed it on his hand. She walked back to Landon with a bit of food that Jenny had and waved some at her. "Better than nothing. I thank you." She took a bite and sat six feet away from Landon on a haystack hunch that was left in the building. "I could use the shut-eye, for now." She closed her eyes and fell asleep.

Sinaris Freohr Demon hunterA smug grin on his face,Sinaris turned to the assembled skeletons. The Black 13 glowing evilly,he waved his gauntlet hand at them.Six of the fifteen skeletons, each wielding a rifle of modern design, stirred slightly in their standing positions then began strutting towards the camp.Once in shooting range of the camp, they positioned themselves into sniping positions amid the rubble, each controlled by Sinaris and the orb's power. After taking up cover, each skeleton looked through the sights of their rifles and aimed for a different target, one skeleton for Roland and each of his companions.Looking through the eyes of one of the skeletons,Sinaris saw that several of the do-gooders were asleep.Sinaris' grin grew wider. Each of them were little more than sitting ducks, all of them within sights of his skeleton riflemen. Sinaris waved his hand once again, now at the remaining nine skeletons, these ones armed with various, brutal swords. They marched through the ruined road until they were just behind the rifle-wielding skeletons, ready to charge into the camp as soon as the shots were fired.Sinaris gave a small, enjoying nod."Let's get this underway." He whispered to Natalia, then shouted out one word in a bizarre, evil language, taught to him by the presence of the orb itself. It rang malevolently all through the area, reaching the rifle-wielding skeletons along with its command. In unison, they all pulled the triggers on their rifles.A shower of bullets suddenly streamed through the air, shooting at Roland and his companions. They whistled in the air as they shot towards their targets, each a mark of death sailing through the dead winds.

Roland Deschain Roland's eyes widened. Amidst the smoke, fog, rubble, and death were the skeletons. He saw them from afar and hoped that they weren't heading towards him and his Tet. He ducked down over the little girl, taking her bullet, he grimaced in pain as his side bled from the bullet. It had exited through on of his ribs, narrowly missing his organs. He yelled at the others. "Get up, for your father's sakes!!!!" He picked the girl up and put her behind a rather large piece of rubble. "Unless thee feels you can fight," pain rushing to meet him, "stay here!" He aimed his Revolver at the skeletons and picked one off by shooting it in the skull and severing it's spine at the same time. The skeleton fell over into pieces and turned to a pile of gray-ish dust. He looked around the chaos and found Sinaris. "Drow, thee has no honor!!" he called with the pain in his voice being obvious, "I'd have killed you by now, he thee not fled like the whores coward you are!" pain was rising, "A thousand damnations upon your wretched soul!" He fired his widowmaker four times, all whizzing to meet the target, spinning in motion as they went and glinting in the moonlit night. He turned his attention away from the Drow, looking at his companions who were shocked from this ambush. "Grab your weapons, kill the damned things!" his eyes shone in the moonlight like hellfire. "Low to the ground!" he called, following his own rules and going into a crouching position, the wound made it harder to do so. he placed his left hand, the one missing the fingers over the wound and put pressure on it. The blood oozed over his fingers and became a waterfall of blood. He took one more shot at a skeleton wielding a sword and realized they were surrounded. "Ranged up front, sword-girl you're the rear guard!" He loaded his widowmaker with the sandelwood grips. His vision was beginning to fail but he kept it up. The wound was making this alot harder then it would have been, had the girl not been here. He loved her as a father would love a daughter because of her identical look to Jake, albeit female. His gun was loaded in a second and he began firing from behind the cover of rubble.

Jennifer woke from her light sleep as the gunshots were heard. She ran for cover. "Roland ignore the skeletons... these aren't your problem... you need to get to the tower now!" she shouted as she ducked behind a rubble a small distance from him. She set her hands alight and aimed a large fire ball for them.
