Yui mildly nodded at the farmer's small joke, a bit suprised that he hadn't called her strange nor laughed at what would probably seem to be a tall tale. If she were him, she wouldn't believe herself and being the pratical person she was, it was hard for her to believe that this place she was in existed. Her eyes followed the farmer's every moment and silently, she watched him answer the door. From what she could hear, it seemed that someone lost their way and was asking for directions to Kutou and even if she couldn't see the traveler just outside the door, she could obviously tell he was hungry because his stomach growled almost as loudly as Miaka's did when she got hungry, almost being the key word. Even though she hadn't known the farmer for more than a day, Yui knew that the farmer would probably invite him in for dinner, despite not having much to offer. She slightly tightened her grip on the cloth wrapped around her which covered everything but her bunny slippers. The humilated feeling she had for being seen in her pajamas were the least of her worries for now but than again, the farmer had no idea these were her sleeping garments.

Amiboshi turned his head to look at his brother as he continued to walk. He then gave a weak smile. "Yeah, that would be nice," he responded with a peaceful sigh before looking up at the sky. Amiboshi had always enjoyed being out in nature. But Suboshi was right, it was too cold. And there was no need for either one of them to get sick.

"Hopefully we have enough money for an inn," he commented, pulling out the small coin pouch he carried along, taking a peak at the profits the two of them had earned from working random jobs in the villages.

"That reminds me," Suboshi said, suddenly remembering something. He fished out his own coin pouch. He pulled out a few coins and tossed them to his brother. "The lady from earlier short-changed me, but I didn't push it..."

The odd jobs they did never usually paid a great deal, and sometimes, like today, the people who hired them could not pay in full. It was hard to blame them though; people were suffering along with the economy, and the twins would take what they could get.

"You'd better hold onto it," Suboshi said with a grin, "In case I get into anymore fights along the road."

"uh..." 'Sheesh he looks poor,' Kouji thought feeling more reluctant to ask for food. "Uh...oh I know!" A lightbulb almost seemed to flash above his head but before he could utter his excuse his stomach gave a loud and woeful cry. "Ahem..." He clutched it. He really needed food but he could wait until he returned to the city surely.

There was another furious growl as his stomach demanded food. "Kouji say something," he hissed to himself. "Can I er...have directions to Kutou?" he asked weakly. Yes he did know the way but he couldn't think of anything better to say. His stomach gave a cry of angrer and defiance. "I can't ask for food it'd be wrong," he muttered down to it.

"Well young man...You are quite a ways away from Kutou...and probably will not want to make the trip on that empty stomach of yours."

He stepped out of the way of the door, invitingly and continued.

"I just came from Kutou earlier today."

He called out to his wife...knowing that this was pushing it even more.

"Make up one more dish honey...and I promise, no more."

He motioned for Kouji to settle in while he would go get the dish.

"I will be right back"

Genrou leaped across the rooftops for a while until finally deeming it safe to crash to the streets below and sprint across him. 'Kouji where the hell are ya?' he wondered. 'This plan has definitely taken a turn for the worse! Still, I'm not a failure, I'll go to the palace once they forget about me.' He zoomed past the people in a blur.

A good while later he slowed down and ducked into an alleyway to pause for a minute. 'Bound to have lost them now,' he decided. "Now how am I going to find that stupid sidekick of mine?!" he cried aloud.

"It will be done," Tomo acknowledged Nakago's orders.

He began running in the direction the bandit had gone. At the same time, he simlutaneously ceased his previous illusions, and created several new ones. He fabricated several clones of himself, each dressed differently, and sent them running in different directions. While running, Tomo took on the difficult task of looking for the loud-mouthed foreigner with his own eyes, and through the eyes of his clones, which he could see in Shin, the clamshell.

There was something usual about his prey. That kind of speed was not natural, and Tomo sensed something about it, though he could not quite put his finger on what it was.

Where are you? He he had seen the bandit jumping rooftops, but in a brief second Tomo had taken to check Shin, he had lost sight of his prey.

Nakago returned to the envoy and barked a few orders which, if followed, would get them to the Southern gate without any more delays. He sat and once in the sanctuary of the carraige, poured all his focus on the task at hand. Maintaining a barrier, and if he could, searching for energy, like that which could create flame from nothing.

The guards were on strict orders to clear the way by any means, and if a foreigner matching Tasuki's descrition were sighted, only then should Nakago be disturbed before reaching the Southern Gate. He could Sense Tomo spreading throughout the city. It should not be long...

Amiboshi stopped in mid step when he heard Suboshi's startingi to talk, watching his brother with a questionable expression. He then caught the few coins that his brother tossed to him, giving a small smile. He nodded to Suboshi's words as he counted the additional coins with his own, doing the math in his head.

"Well, now we might be able to get a place. Hopefully its with some kind owners so we can save some for tomorrow," Amiboshi let out, always planning ahead just in case they were unable to find any work the next day. Yes, they lived a hard life indeed. But at least they were not alone.

Putting the coins back in the pouch, he put it away securely before starting to walk again to the nearest village.

Kouji didn't wish to impose but he didn't wish to seem rude either so he shuffled through the door yelling at his stomach. "This is all your fault! I just wanted directions but you had to take it one step further! Just for that no dessert!" In response his stomach gave an angry growl.

The blue haired bandit headed towards the table and spotted an oddly clothed girl with short golden hair and mesmerising turquoise eyes. "Hi there," he greeted merrily with a smile, "I'm Kouji." 'I wonder if she's the farmer's daughter?' he thought to himself. 'Really odd looking clothes.' "Nice slippers."

Gernou wasn't sure where he should go. He couldn't just leave Kutou, not without Kouji but who knew where his directionless friend had gotten himself now. "To think he's meant to be the smarter of us," the flame haired bandit grumbled to himself.

Taking a chance, he walked quickly along the streets keeping his head bowed. He didn't yet seem to grasp just how much he stood out. 'I'll go a good bit away from the palace and then back track,' he decided to himself.

Once the farmer moved out of the way, Yui was now able to see the traveler clearer. Slowly, she absorbed him in with her pale blue eyes. He had good looks alright but he was mighty strange. She quirked a brow as she watched him get after his stomach. The only person she knew that would get after their stomach like that was Miaka. Before she could stop herself, a small light laugh escaped her lips and she used one of her hands to conceal it. Whoever this traveler was, he sure was both good looking and amusing. Her eyes soon locked onto Kouji's a bit startled from his appearance right before her as he greeted and introduced himself. Instant flushness befell her cheeks at the mention of her slippers and she instinctly moved her feet so that they would be partially covered with the cloth wrapped around her. Oh how never in her life had she felt so mortified. Honestly, she had the worst luck yet. Not only was she in some strange place but here she was sitting infront of some strange yet good looking young man in her pajamas than adding the fact that she looked and felt horrible. Even though she wasn't much into guys in school because she wanted to keep focus in school, appearance still mattered to her and well first impressions were always important. Her mind raced on what to reply back, slightly taken aback as she was and well she spoke the first word that would pop out of her mouth, "A...Agrigato, I'm.... Achoo!" Yui suddenly sneezed before she could introduce herself properly and quickly pulled out a tissue out of her pocket as she felt several of them coming in which they did not long after. So long for first impressions....hers was already out the windowand maybe in Kutou by now.

"The article of section B of the 24th Chapter clearly states that 'Honj' was in fact the sole living ancestor of 'Hijb'. Therefore he should of had to give up his land and possessions or be killed in front of his whole empiror."
After the paper was read from the announcer, Applause could be heard from at least several dozens as the final results of the exam was figured.

"We now have the results." Said A rather old white haired man. "Those who passed may now have the ability to take the second government offical test. The following people that i call, please stand up. First, Fin Badji"

Proudly, a 50 year old man stood up and his eyes which we're full of wisdom suddenly became a mere child's eyes whom was excited.

"Ghidi Tuki"

A more older looking man stood up but with no expression on his face. His eyes gleamed at all around him, knowing he was better then them all.

"Ou Doukun"

Silence quickly erupted as all eyes turned and stared at the unbelieveable event that just occured. Standing, Ou/Chiriko that 13 year old boy, started to smile and give his thanks to the judges. The other 2 person whom passed started at disbelief when they saw who they were up against at the next testing.

"Thats impossible." Said Ghidi. "He's a child. Only a child."

As another judge was about to speak up, Ou/Chiriko quickly responded.

"Actually sir, I am thirteen years old, which in the law clearly states i am able to marry if i choose and own land. So in this case I am not a child." Ou/Chiriko smiled friendly. "Besides It's not like I could be an official til i'm ready. I plan to study more in order to pass the next exam. So you dont have to worry about the elections."

Smiling once more, ou/Chiriko said "Thank you everyone" Picking up his certificate of exceptance, the Suzaku Warrior left the room.

Aha! One of Tomo's clones caught a glimpse of an orange head weaving through the streets. The clone was directed toward the foreigner. This particular fake was clothed as a peasant, Tomo's handsome face copied imperfectly, smudged with dirt and worn-looking, like so many other faces in the city.

The clone Tomo followed the bandit from a distance while the real Tomo raced to reach the scene.

The farmer was not gone too long, and some muffled voices could be heard from the other room, obviously about the situation...but he finally re-emerged with a small dish for Kouji.

"Here you go." He said with a smile.

"It is not much...but we do have another guest...and we do need to eat ourselves."

He sat down across the room from them both.

"So...I think youwanted directions to Kutou?"

He pointed just about Due east.

Follow the road that comes into our village that way and you will go straight to one of the great gates of Kutou. I will be headed there myself Tomorrow if you want a ride..."

He hesitated.

"Though...you might have to find your own lodgings for the night."

There were no other major incedents on the way to the Southern Gate, and the envoy stopped, one of the guards riding next to the carraige to announce that they were there, as instructed.

His eyes remainaed closed, his concentration set. For once, there was more than a simple peasent uprising, or sepratist faction causing trouble. This one had talent, skill...and calling forth flames...very amusing.

In addition to the other plans he had for this trip...this foreigner should make things...interesting.

"Bless you," Kouji said with a smile as the girl sneezed. He grinned slightly as she tried to conceal her slippers. "Seriously, I like your slippers."

The man came back with food. "Arigatou," Kouji thanked him. He pondered over the offer of coming back for directions tomorrow. Where would he stay though? "I don't mind sleeping outside," he said with a grin, "it's nice to see the stars once in a while." As a bandit he'd often roughed it many a time. "Yep Kouji and in the meantime Genrou will be going mental."
PostPosted: Sat Feb 18, 2006 10:30 am

Genrou kept going without much of a clue where to go. He'd no way of tracking Kouji so there really wasn't much else to do except find a way back to the palace where the blue haired bandit would surely meet him. After all, Kouji was bright, surely he would have the sense to meet Genrou at the palace but then again he had gotten lost.

So, Genrou attempted to head back to the palace carefully but of course, by a normal person's standards he wasn't very careful or discreet at all.

Luckily with Kouji's next comment, the farmer returned with some food so Yui had some time to regain her composure or of what little composure she had. Her cheeks still remained flushed but she remained silent as the two men exchanged words. Part of her was anticipating on what the farmer was going to say before the knock on the door but it seemed that would have to wait. Besides, she didn't mind waiting, the traveler did make good company. Her eyes guiltly shifted to the side as the farmer told Kouji he probably would have to find a different lodging for the night. It was too cold to sleep outside or maybe her illness made her sensitive to the cold. If she hadn't just appeared here than the farmer and wife might have been able to allow Kouji to stay for the night. She wanted to help him but being new here, she had nothing to offer him that may help. There was only one way that she could think of to be an assistance to Kouji but it still required the permission of the farmer. Still, it wouldn't affect the farmer as it would her. Besides, this man seemed decent enough and though a bit strange, he seemed trustworthy. "He's more than welcome to sleep on the beddings prepared for me, I'm more than comfortable right here and I can share my meal with him." Yui softly spoke up, her eyes slowly meeting up with the farmer's at her suggestion. It was true that she was comfortable where she sat because the cloth and fire helped keep her warm and well she didn't have much of an appetite in the first place so her plan should work out perfectly, that was if the two men agreed to it.

Kouji was surprised by the girl's selfless offer. "I wonder why Genrou hates girls so much," he muttered to himself. He shook his head with a grin. "Arigatou but I'm fine sleeping outside, I'd no wish to oppose. At any rate I certainly wouldn't want to put a girl out of her bed especially when it was prepared just for her." He then added to himself, "Kouji you're awful polite for a bandit. Kouji shut the Hell up, you know when it comes to girls a bandit should hold his tongue."

"Oh I'm sorry, what is it you'd like to discuss?" Hotihori told the soilder to walk with him. " What is it that is bothering you?" Hotihori couldn't really reconize the soilder, but he just thought that maybe he was new. Hotihori told him to eat with him, since that was what he was going to do that anyway.

Chichiri nodded and followed the emperor. For some reason he felt like he was digging his own grave.

"Forgive me heika, I bring ill tidings," he began, "the seiryu seishi are on the move. I..." he trailed off as a servant pulled out a chair for him to sit on. There was no way he could explain and keep his disguise. Well, here goes nothing no da. He remained standing and waited until most of the servants were gone before continuing.

"I'd like to offer my humble apologies sire for deceiving you. I'm afraid I am not a soldier in your army." With a flurry of pastel smoke the illusion around him fell. The monk promptly removed his mask and bowed before the younger man. "I am a servant of Suzaku like yourself. I am the celestial warrior Chichiri. I took this guise because it was the only way to reach you."

Chichiri waited and prayed the young man understood his predicament. The emperor looked like a kind man...right? And as a seishi, Chichiri was needed to summon Suzaku...right? Therefore the emperor couldn't really kill him...right?
You could still go to the dungeons no da, a flat mental voice told him.

"I see, well, I understand. I am much to happy to find another Suzaku warrior to be angry. Oh and what was this about the Seriyu army? They are attacking? Do you know their reasons? Hmmm...do you know if there are any other Suzaku warriors...or the preistes?" Hotihori smiled at Chichiri, what and odd man he thought to him self.
