Arihael yawns, turning to Xepherus. "Do you see anything?" He growls. Xepherus shakes his head, "Nothing Master, perhaps they're all inside for some festival." Arihael turns forward again, nodding. "Perhaps... I still have this uneasy feeling. No matter." He spreads his wings out, stretching them as he gives one last look. "Hm..."

Allen looked over to Zack as he heard the reply, not with worry but intrigue. "Are you sure? They may not be of a threat to us, but even so. I can't very well defend myself anymore, and let's hope it doesn't come to a fight," he said to the duo, thinking about them more than himself. "Do you think we ought head back to town, or wait for a safer chance?"

Zack looked down to Zero knowing the humans limits when using his technique. " we should run" The reptile's instincts had saved the two in countless situations.
Zero gave a disappointed glance at the chest and stood. "Allen how fast could you moved if I removed any pain you might feel? " he knew all to well that the man would not last on his own and Zero was a thief not a cold hearted killer. His own augmentation was about to end as well and activating it a second time with no rest would cause him to be laid up for at least a day. " we may have to actually run" He gave the elderly man a conserned glance.

Arihael growls. "Steel yourselves...." Xepherus flinches slightly before covering himself with his wings as the others prepare themselves for what is to come. Arihael spreads his wings wide, throwing back his head and letting out a Terrible shriek. The horrifying howl roars over the area as he attempts to flush out any near.

Allen thought for a moment about the question, but was interrupted by a loud howl. "I'm not sure. My body isn't very strong, so I doubt I'd be much faster," he replied quickly. Having gotten older, and with that age more knowledgeable, Allen had learned not to fear much, but this howl was different. It put a sense of fear in him that he hadn't felt in a long time. He bowed his head toward the ground, unable to move as painful, sad memories seized him.

Zack being half animal collapsed at the sound of the howl and tried his best to curl up. While a position of fear this was also a striking position from with if even Zero got near he would get bit. Something the human had only seen a few times.
" I could always eccelerate your... " Zero took a knee at the sound and a panic struck over him. As he tried desperately to organize his thoughts his body acted on instinct. Taking two handfulls of needles he grew them to the sides catching them with a panic driven burst of telekenesis. The needle floated into their practices positions all around him and then all at once drove into him.

Arihael growls "Nothing..." He turns, glaring down at his terror stricken and Sobbing men. "... Get up you cowards!" He roars, diving into the middle of them and dealing out blows, sending a few flying before they rally themselves enough to flee from his wrath. Xepherus sighs, standing up shaking as he forces his wings behind himself. Eventually he rallies the troops and they continue their way towards the town.

Allen let out a pained groan as he held his chest and began to cough again, but something was different, worse. These coughs were more violent, more breath-stealing. He slowly went down onto one knee, setting his wooden staff down on the ground. "If I pass, I want you two to take care of this book. Keep it safe at all times, and do not market it...I've worked all my life to get this information, and I've never asked anything of those in need. That's all I ask of you two, as well."
((OOC: not too great of a post, but..i'm kinda tired and don't want to hold you guys up forever. I'm pretty bad at that when I can't think.))

Zero's mind cleared as the effects of the technique took hold. He looked the man over realizing what condition he was really in. There was nothing zero could do in this case save end it early. And Zero was not that kind if person. "You have my word" the needles glinted in the sun as they each wiggled slightly as he moved. "Anything else? Last words perhaps. "

Arihael grins under his hood as the walls of the city come into veiw. He looks down at Xepherus. "Take half the men when we get inside, Head off to the sides and harry any armed men you meet. I will head directly into the heart of the city." Xepherus nods as they continue with their forced march. Arihael spreads his great wings and takes off suddenly, buffeting his men with wind and knocking Xepherus to the ground. He grinds his teeth but spreads his own wings, taking off into the air as the demons behind them set off at a light run as they advance on the eastern gates of Invictus. [Exit to Invictus City]

Allen gave a soft smile as he looked at Zero. "I was nice meeting you two, and I'm glad that I found someone to carry on this research. Be careful . . . when experimenting . . . and keep your health in check," he said with a faint laugh and a few last coughs before slowly slumping forward and coming to rest on his side.

Zero watched as the man passed not saying a word. And it was only after he was sure the man was gone that he reached for the book. Zero wasn't much for sentiment but he knew he couldn't leave the man out in the open. With nothing but the speed and strength granted to him by his technique he began to dig.

Eira A shadow passed across the ground. The air grew chilled as a wind floated around. A white form floated behind growing clouds, as if shy to be seen. A few moments passed before a single flake was cast down, shining like a gem in the pale light. Soon a flurry of white shed down from the clouds. The creature peeked out as it flew behind the darkening clouds, the sound of feathers rubbing was faint behind the whirling wind. Eira wondered if the city had ever seen snow before. She was one of five mythical and elemental birds, she was the bird of ice called a Zumrud-u Anka. She smiled back at a memory. She had often helped stray travelers lost in the tundra like mountains. I miss our old home... but all must leave the nest at some point She mused with a sigh. She arched her wings back and gave a mighty flap, sending a gust of snow down onto the ground below.
