"But still, I don't think I could take a free meal from an adult. I'm very sure my grandpa would call me a moocher." Gilly protested, stubborn on her position. She was raised pretty modestly, seldom going out for dinner with her mother and father; it was only when she arrived in New York that the eating out began to start. And even then, as much as she and her grandpa loved to wander out and taste new creations, she'd been just as fond as a good stay-at-home night, making macaroni and cheese.

After hearing how young Ayame and Masato really were, Gilly's plum eyes widened, her hands grasping the table, her mouth agape. "Twenty-four?! That's so young..." Gilly sat back in her chair in awe, crossing her arms. "You two have done some amazing things in your lifetime, but..." Gilly looked slightly saddened when she heard that their clan really had no use for children. "Don't you guys ever wish you had time to relish your childhood?" As troubled as Gilly's own childhood was, human life was too short to be pushed into combat so suddenly. Regardless of her mother's suicide and her father's abandonment, Gilly still had fond memories of being back in northern Japan, gardening alongside with her mother, the times when her father would hold her up and twirl her with a large grin on his face, his small glasses sliding down his nose slightly as Gilly tugged on his tie. 'I guess the only childhood memories Ayame-san and Masa-kun have are just learning weapons and techniques...'

Brightening up at the memories of last's night's feast, Gilly grinned, patting her stomach. "Masa-kun had some sausages last night. I tried some, and they were really good. Bratwursts, were they?" Gilly asked, looking at Masato for confirmation. "I had some white asparagus with Hollandaise sauce. Lemme tell ya, back in America, the groceries aren't as good as they are at Yggdrasil, or even in the Mahora markets." Gilly smiled dreamily, thinking of the open air markets that cluttered the streets of Mahora. There were so many local vendors here, that despite if the product was packaged, chances were, it was pretty fresh. "I loved to go to farmer's markets in New York. Those were good groceries, but they don't even compare to the ones in Japan. I suppose New York open air markets are fairly better than other parts of the United States." Gilly commented, thinking about less diverse places in the US, where all they had to rely on for their groceries was their cold supermarkets.

Kairi tugged Eri into the store and as she opened the door to it, she heard the familiar jingle of the bell meant to alert the owner that there were customers. Her eyes were looking around for the children's section of the store since that was obviously the best place to go for her clothes. Looking to Eri, she said. "Eri-Sensei, do you see the kids clothes? I can't see over the displays and you're much bigger!"

"You're going to get hungry, Gilly. I'm sure Masa-kun wouldn't want that, would you Masa-kun?" Ayame said kindly yet playfully as she held Masato close to herself like a plushie. "Plus, we have to get something for Ian too," she said before Gilly exclaimed about her and Masato's age and asked about their childhood.

"Well, life had its pleasures back then. It wasn't all hard training, fighting, and lurking in the shadows, although I can't say we had much of a 'childhood' in the traditional sense of the word. Being forced into combat at a young age and making your first kill at the age of 12 really forces you to grow up early. It's funny....knowing something's missing when you never really knew that thing to begin with," Ayame spoke as Masato put his paws on Gilly's lap and gently nuzzled his owner. Gilly then spoke about the feast they had last night as well as the farmer's markets in New York. Masato nodded as Gilly asked him if it was Bratwurst he ate and Ayame scratched behind his ears. She was feeding Masato well.

"Did you grow up in New York, Gilly? I was there a few years ago and the farmer's markets had some very good produce at that time. Very fresh and I'd say enough to rival some of the stuff you can get over here. Personally, I don't like that 'mummified' stuff they sell at the supermarkets. It's good enough, but nothing beats food when it's fresh, that's for sure. And speaking of fresh food, it's best to get the food here when it's fresh. You're seriously going to get hungry later, I'm telling you, and there's no guarantee they'll still have the best food out here by the time we get back from visiting your boyfriend Ian. What does Ian like to eat by the way?" Ayame chuckled and asked as Masato sitting in front of her nodded in agreement towards Gilly before tilting his head curiously after Ayame asked her question.

"Well, it seems like your adult life is making up for your less-than-innocent childhood." Gilly commented, and shivered slightly at the thought of killing someone at such a young age. Although the night was cool, the vision of taking someone's life when one had barely begun their own made Gilly a little cold inside.

Resting a hand on Masato's head, Gilly gently tickled him under the chin, her affectionate touching beginning to become a habit for Gilly. Plus, he was warm, and his warmth reminded Gilly that despite their bloody profession, Masato and Ayame were still good people. Her ears perking up at Ayame's question, Gilly seemed to think about it for a minute, her eyes glancing up at a leftward angle, as if she were pondering the answer. "I suppose you could say that. I was born in northern Japan, but when my mother..." Gilly cleared her throat a little. "Took her own life after my dad left us, my grandpa came and took me in. He lives in New York now, but I've been going to Mahora ever since last year." Gilly explained, and nodded in agreement at Ayame's statement about how things at the supermarket didn't compare to fresh food.

With a grin, Gilly got up from her seat, and sighed dramatically, chuckling to herself. "I guess you're not going to let me go home without eating, are you?" The lavender haired girl beckoned to the two energetically. "Well then, c'mon! Let's go get some more grub." Thinking back to her injured boyfriend, Gilly had her thinking face on once more, tapping her foot. "Ian likes anything I cook." She laughed silently to herself. "Or, he's too polite to say that he hates it."

"I'm sorry to hear about your mother. I never knew mine and neither did Masato. Mine abandoned me out in the woods soon after I was born before the Koga scouts supposedly found me. Your grandpa sounds like a great person though. I'd love to meet him if we ever get the chance," Ayame sullenly at first, but picked up at the end. Gilly then asked rhetorically if she wasn't going to let her go without eating, causing Ayame to smile before Gilly beckoned for her and Masato to come. "Right behind you Gilly. Right behind you," Ayame said playfully with a smile as Gilly explained about Ian's culinary preferences and Masato jumped off his seat and trotted after them.

"If Ian's the kind of person I think he is, I doubt he'd hate anything you made for him. However, tonight, we'll get the two of you something special." Ayame scanned the stalls beneath the pavilions as they went before she came to one and her eyes lit up at what she saw in the metal containers beneath the glass. "One serving of Zigeuner-Schnitzel, one serving of Heidelberg Meatloaf, and....what would you like, Gilly?" Ayame asked before looking over the rest of the food and wares being sold at that counter. "Four servings of apple strudel as well," she added while Gilly decided. That was one thing they couldn't go without...one for each of them and another for Ian after they decided what to get him.

"Oh, that sounds awfully lonely." Gilly's eyes pointed downward, and bowed slightly, a gesture of sympathy. "So that's why your clan is like your family." Gilly paused, and shook her head briefly. "No, no. They are your family. Do you think your elders were always corrupted, from the time you were taken in, until now?" Gilly asked. If a clan would be so generous as to take in a stranger and train them, and feed them, could their elders be that cruel? Thinking back to the trick they played on Masato and Ayame, it seemed so.

Disappointed that people could seem to be so nice, yet turn out so rotten, Gilly's eyes perked up at the sound of her grandpa being mentioned again. "Oh, of course! He's the greatest! He's the best cook, not to mention, he's just-" Gilly stopped mid-sentence, turning pink from embarrassment. "I'm sorry. I think every day, I mention my grandpa at least five times. I'm sure Masa-kun is getting bored of hearing him." Gilly laughed, and shot an apologetic glance at her fox friend. "I think if he heard the way I ramble on about him, I'm sure he'd scold me."

As the trio walked, Ayame stopped at a stall, and Gilly stopped along with her, peering over the woman's shoulders to take a look at what was available, her neck craned as she was on her toes. "Hmm...why don't we add some of..." Gilly raised a finger, and pointed to three things. "...That. Oh, and that. Ooh, and that looks good."

The names were all in German, and Gilly, not very skilled at reading Japanese characters, (Gilly is fine in spoken Japanese, but is horrible at translating Japanese to English, and vice versa, and is even worse at using characters to translate English words, or any other words for that matter.) used the primitive way of displaying what she desired. What she pointed to was, *kartoffelsuppe, **kroketten, and a dish of ***spätzle.

[Note: I'm not very good with German food. Ask me about Chinese food, and I'll...probably ask my mom. I'm not too good with names of any dishes or cuisine, or culinary styles, despite my own love of food, I suck at cooking. So, I for German food references, I use germanfoodguide.com. I'm not sure if it's accurate, so I apologize for any mistakes I make.

Kartoffelsuppe - potato soup. Kroketten - rolls of mashed potatoes, dipped in eggs and bread crumbs. Sort of like potatoes in Tempura batter, rolled in bread crumbs. Spätzle - German-originated pasta that is moister and softer than Italian pasta.]

(Those descriptions sound accurate to me. We made similar dishes in German class back in high school. They were good. Haha)

"I don't think Masa-kun would get tired of hearing about your grandpa. He sounds wonderful to me and Masa-kun is an excellent listener," Ayame said as Masato's ears twitched and he looked up at Gilly. Ayame gladly paid for everything Gilly pointed to and carried most of their orders while Masato carried the smallest one by its wrapping in his mouth, which she handed to him. Gilly had good taste when it came to food and Ayame could see what appeared to be her concern for Ian by what she picked. Tasty yet filling and something somebody who had been recently hospitalized would love to see brought in for him. The smell of warm food wafted from the containers as they were closed and Ayame made sure everything was in order before they went. "It's getting late. We better get this to Ian before he falls asleep or the infirmary closes up. Do you want anything else, Gilly?" she asked as they prepared to leave. The festivities that night would last until well after midnight, but Ayame could easily get Gilly home without any trouble. She was a "visiting professor" after all and if that didn't work, the campus prefects were all too easy for her to lose.

"Maybe later." Gilly laughed a little, a smile on her lips, as she thought about her grandpa. "I'm sure he'd prefer that he be the one to tell you about himself, rather than myself. You should come to New York and visit one day. Manhattan, the big island is really beautiful at night; too expensive though!" Gilly added, grimacing at the cost of an apartment in Manhattan, even the ones that didn't lie on the Upper East Side, or near Central Park. "Grandpa's thinking of permanently moving to the Magical World, but I think he loves humans too much to do so."

Turning her head toward a large clock tower that stood tall and bright in the dark, cool night, Gilly's eyes quickly captured the time, despite the large distance that separated the party and the tower, her enhanced eyesight working perfectly in her favor. "Yeah. We probably should get this stuff to Ian. I hope he's not sleeping. That lazy butt." Gilly grinned, and shook her head. "This should be enough. Shall we go pay my troublesome boyfriend a visit?" Gilly gestured with her head the path to the infirmary, taking the initiative and leading the group back to the academy.

{Gilly, Masato, and Ayame leave to the Infirmary.}

{Whoops Forget about Eri here xd }

Eri smiled. She looked over the display as ordered, and then started walking. "This way Kairi-Chan." She told her, taking Kairi's hand. She thought about how innocent Kairi was, and how it was probably a crime how she was trying to take advantage of her. However, she soon was sidetracked by a cute clerk, who was winking at her. Once at the clothes section, Eri smiled, and patted Kairi's head. "Well, I have to go to the bathroom, look around and don't wander off." She would be gone for approximately the next fifteen minutes.

Kairi nodded her head happily and said. "Okay! I'll try to find something really cute!" She turned to the clothes stands and looked around for the ones in her size. Being smaller than the average nine year old, she had to get clothes that were fit for girls two years younger than her. She didn't mind though, since she knew it made her look cuter and people would underestimate her more. She had to get strong so she can take advantage of that. Shaking her head from those thoughts, she kept looking until she found a pair of pajamas that she had to have! They were a green pair of footie pajamas with cute little frogs all over it. Giggling, she picked it out and put it against her body. It looked like it would fit perfectly!

Meanwhile Eri came out of the changing room, with a highly 'satisfied clerk'. She grinned, kissing the clerk's cheek. The both walked off, and the clerk returned to her job, her mood prompting many: you just had sex didn't you? Questions. Eri, on the other hand, was waltzing over to where Kairi was looking at clothes. "That would look fabulous on you, doesn't it?" She told Kairi, in a jolly mood.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 08, 2011 1:34 pm

Kairi giggled happily and smiled as she heard Eri say that it would look fabulous on her. Nodding her head, she said. "Yeah! It's really cute huh? I wanna get this and maybe some dresses too. Do you see any cute dresses that would fit me? I'm still looking for them but if you see one you'd like to see me in I'll definitely get it!"

Eri laughed. "Of course my dear.... Of course." She looked around. "What about that one?" She pointed at a small green dress, with a crisscross pattern. It was a tad big for Kairi however, she reasoned, that Kairi would hit a growth spurt soon, and fit the dress. For children it is best to have it a size too large, then the other way around.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 08, 2011 3:58 pm

Kairi appraised the dress a little bit before smiling and saying. "It's great! It's a little bit too big but I'm sure I'll grow into it! I've still got a lot of growing left to do after all!" She giggled and took the green dress, as well as a baby blue one with a pretty floral pattern around the neck and chest area. "I like this one too!" The blue one was fit to her current size and would fall to her knees.

Eri giggled. "That one also would look great." She smiled. 'How about we go and try them on?" She suggested to Kairi, taking her hand and taking her to the changing rooms (Not the one she tried out with the Clerk, but not so far away from that one either) "How about you change in here?" She suggested.
