Maya heard movements downstairs, getting up she went down. When she got into the living room she saw others resting. And they all looked the worst for wear.
She decided to stay and watch over them as they rest. She took a seat near the window and continued her reading.

After those hours had passed, her tired state turned to that of a gentle sleep. Hikaru began to dream. The picture in her mind was filled with fog and all you could see was endless nothingness, except for a small figure in the distance. Hikaru began to approach it and upon closer inspection, she recognized the figure to be a little girl sitting on the floor. She had long chocolate brown hair that draped around her face, keeping it hidden from view and wore a long white nightgown. Her feet, slightly curled underneath her body, were muddy and bare. Hikaru's eyes began to widen as she realized who the child was. "No..." she let out a gentle plea. "Please no...." she eyes began to tear up as she started to hear the little girl's soft crying. "Stop it." Hikaru ordered herself. The crying only became louder and it sounded as if it was coming from all directions. "I said stop it!" she screamed, putting her palms over her ears. When she did this, she felt something wet on her hands.

Outside Hikaru's dream world, her body was still sprawled out on the hard floor. Her eyes began to twitch underneath her eyelids and she started clenching her fists. Still asleep, she let out a few soft cries, while her body started to squirm in agony.

Salazar watched Marcus leave. He did not attempt to stop him. "Perhaps soon he will return to us." He thought while he got up to stand. He put the Kitsune boy in his armchair. He refilled his flask and took a large swig. "Hikaru, I can't let you sleep on the floor." He thought this as he lifted her up and placed her another armchair. He was still weak but he could manage for now. She squirmed and wimpered in her sleep. Poor girl was having nightmeres. He moved his armchair to the window. He watched for Emilian but the chances of him coming back were as good as his father rising from the grave. "I miss you dad, I really do."

"Peachy." Salazar said without looking away from the window.

Maya turned from the girl and looked at the male, but did not comment. She gave an inward sigh, the book livitated from where she placed it and flew back into the library. "I will take my leave from here," she said to him. "I thank you for your hospitality."
She got up, her hood still in place and walked out of the room.

Maya had just stepped off the porch when she sensed them. She turned, sensing that they had surrounded the manor.
A strong wind began to blow, her hood falling back. She blinked at the suden brightness and her hair whipped around her head in a tempest. She raised her hand and sliced through the air, the wind ceased to blow.

"It has been a while," a voice hissed, from the forest. From the shadows a man appeared, his face hideously scarred. He grinned, streching the raised scars on his face. "Your Highness..."

Maya stood tall, her eyes turning silver, "Lothaire," she said. "Why do you insist on following me?"

Lothaire laughed, "Still using telepathy. Why are you so afraid of mesmerising somone, Princess? Think of all the possibilities, you can control dozens of kingdoms..." He stopped, and stared at her, "But that is not what you want is it?"

"No, it is not." She narrowed her eyes, "Answer my question, demon."

"Is it not obvious?" he quirked an eyebrow. "You're the only female heir."

Maya's eyes darted looking for a way around them, she had to leave this place. She didn't want those in the manor to be hurt, the only way she could get past them was her mesmer, but she would still bind the inhabitants as well.
"What should I do?" she thought. She turned and made a run for the forest, but a male Naga jumped out infront of her. The upper body of a human and the lower of a giant snake. He hissed at her his tongue flicking in the air. Maya stepped back, wide eyed.

"Don't think of escaping," Lothaire said, his voice getting deeper. "Just come with me, Princess, and no one will get hurt."

Maya turned to look at him, her eyes glowing a furious silver, "What makes you think I will follow you obediently?" She raised her hand and blasted the Naga away from her. It landed hundreds of feet away into the forest, felling trees as he went. He didn't get up. "You chose the wrong Princess."
