Background: After serving in Galadrial's court through most of the second age and the third, Coithoniel became a sort of wandering bard and healre, roaming through Middle-Earth, singing songs and stoping to aid any villages, towns, cities or families he came across, having yet (unlike his wife and children) to tire of Middle-Earth and sail to the havens. He has recently arrived in Rivendell, to help rebuild the place and to ensure that it is well-stoked with both remedies and healers to administer them.

Backround: Child of Panashi Ardumir and Iavasiel, conceived during the elf's time as a vampire in Mordor, but unable to come to term because of his mother's undead state. Remained in a state between life and death for ten years before Iavasiel was returned to life and the child was allowed to come to term. After drinking a large quantity of the vampire Morolas' blood, Mele was able to quickly grow into the state and age he should have been, had his birth and conception been normal.
