A scream pierced the captains quarters. Angel awoke with a start and bolted to the window to watch a kid catch a girl just before she hit the ground. Angel shook his head. Judging by how high the sun was in the sky he had only been asleep a few hours. Angel's stomach gave a loud roar. He had only had eaten oatmeal and an apple for breakfast that morning, and that was half a day ago. He decided to return to the mess hall and see what scraps were left. Eiror was lying in his basket staring out the window when Angel scooped him up. That boy knocked her out of the air you know, Eiror commented. "What boy," Angel asked. The one with the demon fox. It took Angel's tired brain to process what the young dragon had said. "You think he meant to hurt her," He asked. No, only that she would not have fallen and been saved if it were not for him. "Either way she seemed alright in the end, so lets put that thought to rest. A demon fox is a neutral animal, not an evil one. If he was evil he would have let her fall would he not?" True.
Angel opened the door to the mess hall. The smell of fish hit their noses. "The fishermen must have come into port today," Angel commented. Eiror licked his lips, I do hope they caught some haddock. Angel let out a small snort and went to the line. He knew what Eiror was asking for and piled four large fish onto his plate along with some boiled potatoes and some carrot broth into a bowl. The sun is rather nice today, lets eat outside "I agree," Angel said with a smile and the two of them went out under the large crimson king. The breeze danced sleepily through the crimson hair of the tree. The mountains in the distance looked beautiful with their greens and yellows meshing with one another. Eiror transformed in a puff of smoke and lapped up two fish with ease. Angel attacked his carrots and potatoes and drained half of the carrot broth in one gulp. "You know, you never really do realize how hungry you really are until you start eating," Angel set the carrot broth next to the plate of fish and quickly ate a fish. Eiror finished the last fish and carrot broth and returned back to his smaller size. "Do you think they will send us out again this month?" I hope not. I do like it here, but we will get fattened if we do stay. Angel snorted and smiled at Eiror. "To true." His voice trailed off into his thoughts.
