Lina's eyes open and wander in the direction of Werlis. She might not be able to see the berserker, but she can certainly sense him. She watches him questioningly.
Werlis sighs. "I'm getting too old for this.." He looks at Seth. "Understand this: your power is controlled by two places. Your heart and your mind." He indicates Lina. "We already know that we can use Lina to keep your anger in check. That should help any time your darker powers try to emerge when we don't want them to.."

Seth frowned lightly at his comments, he didn't like the idea of using Lina in any way. "Are you sure? I know it may be common. . . But when my 'darker powers', as you put it, surfaced. . . It felt like I was that person. . . I can't really explain it, but only after I had released some energy was I able to calm down and think straight." Seth said looking at Werlis, hopefully he would have answers.

Werlis nods understandingly. "You were in a rage. As a berserker, I can understand the feeling. It's as though you're sucked in, controlled by it. All you want to do is cause others pain." There's a look in his dark eyes that makes them even darker. "I'll be there should you be in such a state again. I take a lot of damage and keep going. We might be able to keep that from happening, though, with Lina's presence and having you expel some energy from time to time."

Seth listens to Werlis, but he doesn't stop his light frown. Yes, it did feel similar to that, but there was a strange familiarity to it that he couldn't explain. "No, it wasn't as if I was sucked into it nor controlled by it. It was almost like it came from inside me, like my anger had awoken something that had been sleeping. But even though I wanted to cause the pain, wanted to so badly, there was a faint whisper in my head telling me it wasn't right. Only after I had expelled the energy did that voice grow large enough for me to see clearly and become. . . Well, me again." Seth said. He couldn't explain it, but then again, when he was standing up to Werlis he felt the same. . . It was just, different.

"It is your kind's way. I know it is hard to explain my rages to those who do not have them.." Werlis sighs softly and rubs his temple. He's been keeping his berserker rage at bay for days now. His resolve is weakening and he knows it. "There is no such voice for me. Faint or otherwise. I no longer can control my berserker rages once they have me. All I want is to kill. To feel blood upon me. It has even gotten hard for me to tell friend from foe..."
Lina gives Werlis a worried look. She can feel his rage there, just beneath the surface. It wants out. To hurt. To kill. There is more to it this time though. Some deeper urge that Werlis has pushed from his mind almost permanently it would seem. She can't put her finger on it though.

Zen shrugged. If he said it was the way of his people, then it must be, since he didn't even know what kind of person he was. All he knew was he looked human, accept he had strange colored eyes, hair, and woke up in a really old castle, surrounded by old spirits. They couldn't even help him, all they knew was he just appeared there, where a large collection of energy had been gathering for a while. "Hrm, well how do you control it?" Seth asked quietly.

Werlis lifts his head enough to look at Seth. His eyes are almost completely blood red. "I do not. I fight against it. I can keep it at bay for a time, but will eventually win. My control will snap. I will go into a rage. I will fight until exhaustion takes me or no one stands before me."
Lina sits up, her grip on Seth's hand tightening slightly. She is uncomfortable now. She's seen Werlis go into a rage before. It was far from a pleasant sight.

Seth notices the strange discolor of the Berserker's eyes and frowns. He turns to face Lina and lets his hand slip from hers, if what Werlis said was true, running would only cause both of them harm, or someone else. "Thanks for the advice Werlis. Lina, maybe you should go to the library. . . If I am going to learn control, Werlis is going to have to teach me and I don't want you to get hurt." Seth said with a smile before giving Lina a gentle nudge towards the door. He knew she wouldn't like it, but he knew she wouldn't be able to leave the castle, or run as fast as she needed to to escape harm if Werlis were to succumb to his rage. He would stand and fight if he needed to.

Lina doesn't like the idea of leaving Seth alone with Werlis. Not when the berserker is close to losing his tightly help control. She moves when Seth nudges her though, quickly leaving the guest room and hiding away among the books of her library.

Werlis watches Seth. He leans back in the chair and closes his eyes, trying to calm himself again. "It seems funny that I should teach control to others when I am losing my own. Doesn't it? I would laugh at the thought if what could happen weren't so horrifying."

Seth is grateful that Lina listened to him, grateful that she didn't argue about his own safety. Sure, he was worried about what would happen, but he knew he had a better chance than the princess. But it was strange, even though he was in the midst of a possible fight, he had a strange calm about him. He couldn't explain why, but he felt as if he was ready for what the man could dish out. "Well. Maybe you just need to expel some of that pent up energy." Seth said quietly.

Werlis laughs humorlessly. "I would never do such a thing." He shifts at pain he feels from trying to suppress his rage. "I do not even know why my rages have become out of control like this. But suppressing them.." He intakes are sharply as a stabbing pain shoots through his right temple. "It brings me pain instead of others. That is something I can live with. There is something about Lina that draws upon my rage if it is near the surface though.. It is good she left the room."

Seth frowns lightly at this statement, but doesn't pursue the topic. He gave a simple breath, focusing on Werlis, and nothing more. "But if you suppress your rages, eventually it will cause more pain than it prevents. If you are able to let it out in short bursts, while being able to control yourself you can keep from hurting anyone." Seth said. He could feel the surging power emanating from the man before him begin to strengthen as time passed. If it continued, Werlis wouldn't be able to hold himself back.

"Even when I let them out when they first come, I can not control them any longer. Berserkers were never meant to live as long as I have, I think. We are meant to die gloriously in battle against out enemies so our families may live." The thought of a family pains Werlis, decreasing his anger in the face of his heartache.

Seth notices the strange change about Werlis and notices how some of his energy had begun to slow down. He got an idea, though he didn't want to follow through. It was better than fighting the man and taking the chance of losing his life, or taking Werlis's life. "Family? Do you have a family Werlis?" Seth asked innocently, hoping he didn't get angry.

Werlis's heart aches, making his anger shrink away. His sorrow always won out over his anger. "I used to... A mate. She was a warlock I bound myself to by contract... She was in a fight one day and didn't call upon me. She fell and was carrying out child."
