yes i do... i believe that they exist.
Sometimes I think that the ghosts that exist in the world are the ones that haven't been able to pass on because they've been rejected from both heaven and hell.

anyone care to share their views?

Yes, I definitely believe in ghosts. Ghosts are people who refuse to "cross over" for some reason. Maybe they won't accept that they are dead, or maybe they refuse to let go of their old life. I'm not sure exactly why they don't cross over.

Same for me. In fact, I've seen one, I think. I don't form an opinion on something until evidence exists to credit or discredit it, but I believe that ghosts and spirits exist because, when I was younger, there was always a shadow shape like a man sitting on our windowsill on the wall next to my bed. But whenever I looked, nothing was there. Then'd I'd look back and there he was.

Yes, I believe in ghosts and have had a few experiences with them.

I believe in reincarnation and that every living thing possesses a soul. After we die I see that soul as being 'set free', for lack of a better term. Able to drift without a solid form, until it is reborn within another being. In that time of drifing and fluidity I could call that soul a ghost.

Wow, more people than I thought do. I personally don't, I've never seen anything the slightest bit ghosty, at all.

Right now I'm a little in the middle. In Certian cases it seems like ghosts are real but on others it dosn't seem that way. Ghost hunters is one way that I see is how people will eventually find out if ghosts are real, seeing as they go in to disprove a haunting.

An example where they did 'see' a ghost is the florida lighthouse one.

I'm kind of on the inbetween. I'm really not sure if I believe they exist in all actuality. But you bring up very good points. Just some of them don't mesh with my religous beliefs

I most defiantly believe in ghosts (spirits, or the breathless as I prefer to call them). I've had my fair share of experiences, even before I was born, according to my mom, sister, brother, and dad; to a point that actually sounds a little scary to some, but my family knew and understood how to handle them. I've been dealing with some kind of spirit for A LONG time, my parents have always called it "the gift", and I've come to realize that it is, but when I was younger I didn't think of it that way. Apparently, to sense, see, and communicate with spirits runs in my family, although I don't know how far back; and not everyone in my family can do it.

I do not try to make a non-believer believe in "ghosts" as in order for them to believe, they must have an experience for themselves. My husband for instance, is a skeptic, BUT believes in the possibility, as he's never really had an experience per say. But I will be there for anyone who has had an experience, and try to help them understand the experience, but in order to have an experience, you must be able to feel spirit energy; at least that's my opinion.

So, YES!! I believe in ghosts!

I was bored So I went to look up more information just for this discussion.

Ghosts:

Also known as specters, spirits, phantoms, and wraiths, ghosts are apparitions and magnifications of disembodied souls. Most often, they appear as the result of an unexpected or premature death. Most take human form and many can speak or convey thoughts. Others seem unresponsive and oblivious to their surroundings. Apparitions can appear solid, transparent, translucent, shadowy, or as balls of light. Manifestations can also occur via physical contact, cold spots, voices, tapping sounds, and footsteps.

Doppelganger's: Doppelganger's are "doubles" that take the form of living or deceased people. Living doppelgangers appear during incidents of bliocation and astral projection. They are considered to be pleas for help by people in crisis, or warnings of an impending crisis An expected person's doppelganger may appear prior to his or her actual arrival, often wearing clothing identical to that of the real person. Deceased doppelgangers often appear to people who are unaware that the person has died. It is considered a bad omen if someone sees their own doppelganger.

Ectoplasm: Ectoplasm is an often foul smelling physical manifestation of a ghost. It can radiate from psychic mediums during communications with spirits as a slimy substance or it can appear as a floating or swirling mist. It can also take the shape of a people or objects. Photographic evidence of ectoplasm is much more common than physical evidence.

Ghostly Transportation: Interestingly enough, ghosts are often seen in or near ghostly vehicles, perhaps due to fatal accidents which involved the vehicle. Equally interesting are manifestations of ghostly vehicles without any ghostly passengers. Although ships, trains, and planes are the most common forms of ghostly transportation, ghostly cars pose the greatest danger because living motorists often swerve to avoid them.

Ghosts In Photographs: When ghosts are photographed they usually appear as ectoplasm (a misty fog) or as orbs (balls of light). In many cases, however, they appear in human form and can turn up unexpectedly either in the foreground or background. It is not uncommon for ghosts to pose for the camera along with the subject of the picture.

Phantom Hitchhikers: Phantom hitchhikers provide the basis for some of the best ghost stories and urban legends. They usually appear completely normal and may engage in conversation with the driver. In many instances they simply vanish from the moving vehicle. In other instances the driver doesn't realize that their passenger is dead until after he or she has been dropped off at their destination. Phantom hitchhikers have also warned drivers of impending danger along the road ahead. They have often been the victims of fatal auto accidents which have occurred somewhere along their hitchhiking route. The Other Side: Ghosts and Spirits: Phantom Hitchhikers

Phantom Phone Callers: Phantom phone calls are a type of electronic voice phenomena. Most phantom phone calls occur following the recent death of a close relative or friend. The phone may ring normally or off-tone and often only one phone will ring (out of 2 or 3 extensions on the same line). The caller's voice, although disturbingly familiar, often seems distant and desperate for conversation. The caller frequently uses buzz words and catch phrases that are keyed to both parties. Bad connections end when the line goes dead or when the caller hangs up in haste. In cases where the recipient is unaware of the death of the caller, the conversation may last a long time. One-time incidents seem to be the caller's way of saying a final goodbye. Repeat incidents may warn of impending danger or attempt to impart information needed by the recipient.

Poltergeists: Poltergeists are lost or mischievous spirits who like to make their presence known. Usually unaware that they have died, they resent their living subjects and seek to aggravate them. Poltergeist manifestations are frequently characterized by loud noises, mysterious lights, bad odors, and the frequent movement and disappearance of objects. Poltergeists can also inflict physical harm. Many people believe that poltergeist activity is the result of deliberate or unwitting psychokinetic manifestations.

I've never seen one. Its mostly just been my peripheral vision playing tricks on my mind.

Thanks Kanon Vilente for posting all that info =o, though as I go back through my mind there have been instances where some things don't seem right.

One example is when a bar of deoderant fell off of a flat surface. To some of you this may or may not seem strange but to us it did. We live on the first corner of a street intersecting the main road of transportation through our city, Main street, and seeing as our Avenue gets alot of the traffic coming down here going at either break neck speeds or a bit slower, we also tend to get construction cars coming up on theleft side of the house where a small back road crosses into the avenue.

When large trucks pass the house it'll cause it to shake slightly, so will trains and maybe the ocassional slight earthquake. Thing is, none of those happend when the bar of deoderant fell off of the bathroom table. No one was walking past and it was just my mom and I in the house.

She was in the kitchen while I was at my usual spot, sitting on the couch somewhat upside down and watching the science channel. I jumped slightly as the deoderant fell and my mom ran to see what it was, she started spazzing because she was half drunk at the time, saying stuff about how the house was haunted.

I tried to calm her down and told her "If this house was haunted, don't you think we would've noticed by now?". Looking back on that, I notice that hauntings can start whenever and where ever.

This is a tough one. Mostly because I have to wonder how much
of our own imaginations get in the way. The monster was pretty
damn real under my bed growing up- but now I know it was an
impossibility. At the time, had I let my foot hang over- I know there
would have been a bloody mess.

I have seen, felt and for lack of a better word "communicated" with
"things" I have not been able to explain. As a teen it got pretty scary, and
in my early twenties I decieded to block as much of it out of my head
as possible. "Nope- dont see nuthin!"
Im pretty sure Im a sane person, and have no symptoms that would
indicate a need for meds or padded rooms.
But sometimes, the hair still raises on the back of my neck and I
feel something weird in the room, and I have to shut my eyes because
if I dont see anything then I can tell myself my imagination is getting to me.

So are "ghosts" real? I dont think it matters if we believe in something or not- if its there its there.
I guess what matters is what we are comforitable with in our lives to accept as real.

I cant believe Im admiting this.
