So I would die for Christ's cause. If someone said are you a follow of Jesus, I'd say absolutely and if he said I will kill you I would gladly die. Jesus said some of us would die for our faith. In Philippians 1:20-30 Paul and Timothy speak about dying for Christ but also living for him and for having courage.

I would give up my life for christ in a second if it came down to it. but i also do not value my life that much. the thought of death does not bother me so it's not a dificult choice for me to make.

i knwo many more are going to come in and say "of course" but i urge them to realy search their hearts before answering.

You should value yourself more. 3nodding Your body is a Temple of Christ, and He's want you to take care of yourself.

If someone wanted to kill me for being a follower of Christ, then I would let it happen. I wouldn't deny who I am, and who I love. We need to take care of ourselves, but how would we show our love by denying him? So yes, I would gladly die for Christ.

Don't be too hasty in responding to this. This is not something you can take so lightly... it's an easy answer to say but in deed it is not something I could honestly say I could do, apart from the Holy Spirit. I won't know until that day comes.

What about torture? could you honestly say you wouldn't fold, even if just for a moment to spare yourself horrifying pain? Like castration or having your eyes gouged out, or having someone you love killed in front of you? I don't know if anyone can say they could and not be lying. I know I would fold. Its something God will do, His Holy Spirit will empower us to go through such events and remain faithful.

What about just living? It may be easy for you to say that you would die for Christ... but would you live for Him? Would you give up everything you are living for and live solely for Him? Pray that God will show you and take away what is getting in His way from making you into a man or woman sold out for Jesus Christ.

I'm not saying this pretending to be "holy." I pray that God will do this in me and in you.
"Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:12-14

Every christian should be willing to
PostPosted: Tue Mar 20, 2007 5:30 pm

The thing is...not every Christian WOULD. It's easy to say it, but truly feeling it in your heart is something different.

It's hard to say that, but Samurai, everyone should hold that hope in their heart. By saying you would die for Him is something beautiful- a love that shouldn't be doubted. We can't say what will be in the future, but by building the faith and believing you would die for our beloved Lord will only increase the love and promise if such a moment came.

And, if such a dark moment came, the Lord would ease our pain. Blessed be those who suffer. So believe your heart, and doubt less of human fear and more of the pure love.

It is easy to say, "Yes, I would put my life on the line in the name of the Lord." I would like to think that I would have no doubts when the time came but it is not that simple.

Who here has been close to death? I have done many stupid things but I have never been truly close to death. I have never had to stare down the barrel of a .45 and say I believe knowing the trigger would be pulled if I refused to denounce my faith.

I'm sure I could if I needed to. I don't know what God has planned for me, but I'll try to prepare for what I can.

I said that i don't value my life. i do in fact value my self. there is a differance. if i were to get hit by a bus to morow and die in the ambulance on the way to the hospital i would die without a regret or a worry. see most people fear death. i don't. i know it is going to happen and the when and how don't worryme all that much. today, tomorow, fifty-a hundred years, it's all the same to me in the end.

What does it take to be more like you? I fear death, mostly because I don't know where I'll end up. But if that case actually came up, I'm not exactly sure what I'd do...

Do you love God? Have you chosen to change your life of sin for Him?

Even after you have changed for him it is hard for some people to fully realize that death is nothing to be afraid of. Believe it or not the fear of death is mainly a social thing. In our society (USA) death is something we are trained from infancy to be afraid of and avoid, even that it is a bad thing. While I'm not saying that it is right to have no fear of death before you are saved, you should realize after you come to Him that there is nothing to fear because where you are going is a much better place.

Also, it is not good to try to be as holy as another living person. Every human alive is flawed in some way and if you strive to be like them you are not getting away from the imperfections that us mortals have. We should strive to be like Christ for only He was perfect.

I'm not afraid to die, especially for Christ. That doesn't mean I'll just turn over and let someone kill me though. If God values my life than I will value it and try to save it if I can. If it is just my time to go than I'm going to go. I what I'm trying to say right now is that it depends on the situation. While I would willingly die for Christ I still want to live the life that He has planned out for me. If there is still some good I can do in the world I want to do it before I die.

Ok, me stop talkin' now boss.
