It's been a while since Gaia has come out with any new snazzy hairstyles for our avvies. Do you think they are due for a salon update? What hairstyles would you like to see them add?
I'd like to see low curly pigtails, or Pipi longstockings style braids. Maybe some crazy bedhead hair or 80s teased hair. Oh! Or a combover/balding hair style. That would be funny.

Yeah, it does seem like they're overdue for some new hairstyles. Housing items too, wouldn't you say?

I think they need more long hairstyles.
Maybe a Rapunzel like one... Or just long braids.

The only real suggestion I have for the salon is that they should make them into wigs, especially for how much they charge.

A lot of people want them to do that but Gaia staff has already announced to the public that they've no intent on ever doing that. I suppose we could look at it as a small way of stopping the economy from inflating, by creating a source for funds to be lost without ability to sell back an item for gold. The same with the avatar arena. I think it's their way of keeping people's gold from getting too high, which would make other people without as much gold have to suffer. I dunno...

Besides, I kind of like have one hairstyle for ages until I get really bored. It's kind of like real life hair, which is why all the long hair styles (with the exception of River) cost so much. You need a long time to grow back your hair.
And we may have more hair 'replacement' items like the elemental hair in the future as well, so I wouldn't say that they haven't created a wig option now.
Which is why I delete the petition whenever it comes my way via PM.
But then again, I would like some prices lowered on the less elaborate expensive hairstyles and more elaborate ones to take their place, as well as a few cheap ones that aren't the basic ones. Something around 400-800 gold. Mid-range ones would also be nice. (800-1200)

I've thought about it and if Gaia made the hairstyles into wigs, they could be non-resellable. Like right now I'm having an issue with an avvie on one of my other accounts. I bought the hairstyle, but realized I wanted to change the base (eyes & skin). I don't want to delete my character and have to rebuy the hairstyle I just bought. Maybe that's just me being stingy...

Right now everything you can obtain into your inventory is something that can be sold... game items, equipment items, house items, etc. It wouldn't make sense for them to make wigs and somehow code them to where they would show up in your inventory but not be able to be traded, sold or marketed. Plus it makes more sense this way. You can sell a wig... but you can't sell your hairstyle. I think if anything they should just allow you to be able to keep the purchased style when redoing your avatar. The problem though is that you are "deleting" your avatar and making a new one. This is why the hairstyle can't stay. I think they should make it so all new avatars are bald... then you HAVE to buy a hairstyle, haha. But it would also be easier for people who just like to change their avatar if they added a "contacts" shop where you could change your eye colour, and a tanning salon or something to adjust your skin colour.

And the fact that a couple of "contacts" items were leaked a while back would make a contacts shop a really cool idea.
I wish more of the hairstyles didn't change your eyebrows though. It makes certain eye styles seem angry or whiney.
