The intention of this post is to see what other simmilar music people around here are listening to.
I specified rock, because although I happen to like punk (?) Nirvana, they are in no way simmilar to Metallica so there's no good reason why a Metallica fan would like them.
I'll start off with Blind Gaurdian. They're very different and very good. Some of their stuff is a bit weird - incorporating some almost medievil tones, but they're worth checking out.

BaSsStuD can it be other than rock I'm not good at music genres, all I meant was that it should be bands you'd think with good reason that other people around this guild would enjoy.

Metallica are very different to other bands, they have their own kinda genre, but some bands that MetallicA ands might like are Korn, Disturbed and if u like the heavier stuff Slipknot, err Soulfly.. stuff like that

I would call Metallica for Garage or trash Metal.. ^^! i love Power Metal though.. Such as Blind Guardian, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius and more!

I would say Metallica has fit in all genres of metal at one point in time. Well, Besides Death and Nu. And a little rock and country mixed in there as well. They are way diverse.. and thats why i probably like them so much. Look at the songs they cover. Its such a wide variety of music they pick to put into and shape as their own.
I like Sinch. Sinch is an awesome not-to-wellknown band from Philly. Amorphis and Dark Army are also some of my favorites.. then there is the -other- stuff.. Cake... Cold... Finger Eleven... Remy Zero.. Those are not at all in the same genre though... O.o

Tuonela I would say Metallica has fit in all genres of metal at one point in time. Well, Besides Death and Nu. And a little rock and country mixed in there as well. I like the way they slip different songs into their CD's. Like for example Moma Said and its country style

I like van halen the solos are fairly similar to some van halen songs generally speaking

BaSsStuD i know i posted earlier but im gonna have to add i realy like pantera and lamb of god also. PANTERA! Yes! I love 'em! But not as much as Metallica! I also like Motörhead. Now they are ROCK 'N ROLL!

Incase it hasn't been mentioned, Megadeth was founded by Metallica's former lead-guitarist, so you might (keyword might) like them. But of course, no one likes Mustain cuz he's an a**, and with that, I don't think we like him as much as Kirk. biggrin

But of course, no one likes Mustain cuz he's an a**, and with that, I don't think we like him as much as Kirk. biggrin Mustaine sorta sounds like James. *coughnocough* They are okay.. i just find their lyrics kinda pointless and such. ^_^
