Well, I'm going to japan this summer..all by myself, seriously, I'am eek ...but I'm staying with a friend..I just want to know how do people treat you and what bad things not to do should I look out for???

Sometimes shops have names translated in English, but are mispelled. The airports are very clean though.

Some of the japanese can be very closeminded, and racist. just be sure not to do any of your normal habits, as anything there is totally different. Don't jam your chopsticks into food, slurping at the table is A-okay, and don't cross your chopsticks when putting them on the bowl.
I think in China its illegal to spit on the ground. I'm not sure about Japan though.

Try and act friendly, and do not stick your chopsticks in the ricebowl straight up, that resembles death in my culture. Oh and always keep a smile on your face, the Japanese might look at you because you are different from them. But smile. mrgreen

people mostly treated me with uh respect..but some people asked for money .Be careful and don't give anyone money there..make sure you bring toilet paper because some of the bathrooms don't have. Also there are some toilets where you might have to squat ....

Don't stick the tip of your chopsticks into your mouth =O it's very impolite. Also, be very courteous and polite. And, most importantly, when in a ramen shop, slurp! xd It shows your compliments to the chef.
