Now I have a question, often in car magazines I see these sweet cars, then when it comes to pictures of the engine bays, the Cams often don't seem to have filters attached, Somtimes the Turbo chargers are also uncovered and insted have a trumpet end slapped on.

Now isn't that bad for the engine, wouldn't alot of muck get into the engine? Are there any benifits? Does it help the flow of air, and when it comes to turbochargers how would one achieve the most audiable wisteling sound like that found on Turbo Desiel Trucks?

I'm pretty sure most people take the air cleaner off of their turbo just for photo shoots (so they can show off how much money they spent on a huge turbo). Unless you have some kind of ram induction hood or something though, I really don't see the point of taking off the air cleaner in a practical driving application.
