Its official both the House of Representatives and the Senate have passed bills making it a crime to transport girls across state lines in order to avoid parental notification/consent laws. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/politics/4072132.html
Its a modest step foward to protecting young girls.
Connecticut, Hawaii, New York, Oregon, Vermont and Washington and the District of Columbia do not have parental consent/notification laws. Oregon will have a referendem this fall on wheter to add them.

Good. I can't get a freaking tapeworm removed without my parents' permission. If a fetus is like one of those, why the hell should this be different?

It's going to keep going on anyway. I don't imagine this will be enforced much. Sounds like a political move made to appease people like us.

That's the pessimist in me. The optimist is happy. It'll make people think twice before doing this crud.

Not it was genuine. The whole "I'm a fifteen year old individual! I'm gonna have sex with my twenty year old boyfriend and there's nothing you my parents can do about it!" got old.

Yup. Your under 18. Your a minor. Your a kid. You obviously arn't mature if you think its okay for you to be 15 and him to be 20somthing. You have no life if your parents say you don't.

I had to deal with out. Our parents had to deal with it. Hey, guess ******** what, so do you!

Yes it is. That why I couldn't move in with anita when i was 17, even though my parents were willing at points.

On one note I'm surrprised all of Illinois has that law...i thought they were extremly liberal.

"No one knows how many girls get abortions in this way, or who helps them. But Democrats say the policy would be dangerous to pregnant teens who have abusive or neglectful parents by discouraging other people from helping them.

"We're going to sacrifice a lot of girls' lives," said Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y."

And here we see a perfect example of many pro-choicers philosophy (from Hillary as was expected) Lets push the problem aside instead of tryign to combat it.

yes, of course. instead of trying to get them to avoid situations in which they'd want an abortion, how about just making it legal? and of course it can't be possible for a person who opts for individuality and responsibility to deal with their own consentual actions.

Pyro, might I recommend doing screenshots and then getting an account on Tektek.org, where you can do rando-sigs of said screenshots? The URL for rando-sigs on Tektek are smaller than a Photobucket URL. Extremely convenient.
