Time had passed. Siren was old enough to go out on her own now! The young angel griff drifted through the clear skys, her home terrain. Ah, how nice the breeze felt! Si closed her eyes and enjoyed the coolness of it on her beak. What to do? She was finally free of that stuffy cloud home, to go grant joys! That place looked nice! Siren's sharp eyes peered out a forest, thick with trees. Maybe someone was down there! Grinning, she flapped her cloudy wings, a little trail of evaporated material tailing behind them. The young hippogriff slowly spiraled down, towards the dense collection of trees. Ahhh. The warm air from the forest brushed her face as she landed in the branch of a large tree. It was neat in here! A little stuffy and dark, nothing her parents would have approved of. Pah. Si hopped down from the branch with ease, and sat down quietly, allowing her eyes to adjust to the darkness of this new world.

Dorso walked along the forest trail, alone as always. He never liked hanging out with his siblings, and they were just about the only griffs who ever tolerated him around. He was not a pleasant person, and he knew it. He liked it that way.
He was having a grand time terrorizing the little animals, chasing rabbits who hopped away madly, thinking their time had come. Squirrels chittered loudly from trees, trying to shoo the intruder from their home. He just glared up at them and growled as best he could, scaring them into their hidey-holes.
"HEH! Stupid things. Who do they think they're messing with? I could crush them under a hoof if I wanted." He grinned evilly to himself and walked on. He wasn't far from the stream now, where he liked spending his afternoons by himself. He was looking forward to another calm day by the water.

Siren blinked. A traveler? She heard a voice, but could not define the words. "Hello?" She called out loudly, in her sweet voice. The angel griff trotted eagerly towards the male voice. Maybe someone who needed help? "Hello? Who goes there?" Her voice was angelic.

Dorso startled at the voice, the most unexpected sound he had ever heard. Not just because of its location, coming out of a tree at first... but also because of its tone. He'd never heard a voice like THAT before...
He reined in his surprise and took a few steps back, bringing his head up and flaring his wings, puffing out his feathers threateningly.
"Who said that?! Show yourself!" he called, even though he could already hear the intruder walking towards him. "What are you doing in my forest?!" Well, in his part of the forest, at any rate, although he had no real right to claim such a thing.

Hmm? Si yelped a bit as the voice responded, harshly. The griff lowered her head meekly, not wanting to anger the owner of the voice even more. She darted out of the coverage, and looked at the teen that had answered her. "I'm sorry, Mr., I did not know this was you forest. If you wish me too, I will leave." Her voice was heavy laden with old english accent, something she picked up from her parents. Her wings were splayed out, the evaporated cloud material floating off it gently, and her halo tipped back. Did this grff.. have.. sideburns?!

Dorso blinked, his feathers settling immediately when he spotted the strange creature. She was... a hippogriff, yes, but at the same time she wasn't! Cloud-wings? A sparkly thing floating above her head? Her feathers all seemed softer than normal. Even her voice was a tad strange, accent and all.
He shook his head and fluffed out again, knowing that if he stopped his display he might lose control of the situation.
"You didn't answer my question, girl! What are you doing HERE? I've never seen you, or anything like you, before! Where'd you come from, hunh?" He took a step towards her, slamming his hoof down in an effort to intimidate her into talking. It usually worked with his siblings...

Siren sighed as she watched the male griff stare at her. She flinched as he brought down a hoove. "Please, ye kind sir, I will tell thee!" Her accent was becoming stronger with her fear. "I was a'floating down from thee blue sky, an' I a landen here." She swooped her tail around, motioning to the dark area they were in. "Who are ye, sir?" She questioned, raising her head slightly.

Dorso couldn't make much sense of what she was muttering in that weird pseudo-language, but he did make out "flying down" and "from the sky", or something akin to that. He was getting angry. Of course she would have flown in from the sky! She couldn't very fly in from, oh like, the river! That would be considered swimming, not flying! She was avoiding his questions!
"You flew here from WHERE is what I'm asking?" He roared at her. "I'll tell you who I am when I'm satisfied that you're not a spy!"

Siren flinched, and backed up a step. "From whare? Ohh! Why didn't thee say so before? Oi came from thee clouds, up high. Did thee not know? I am a' angel of sorts." Si nodded. "A.. spy? What is a' spy?"

An Angel? What the hell was that? Dorso had never been told about that kind of thing. What his parents mostly told him was that he was a demon, or a hellion... They never said anything about angels.
"Ooooo-kay," Dorso replied, unfluffing himself, settling his wings into place. It was no use trying to intimidate a crazy person, and this white griff, although pretty, was definately off her rocker. "You came from the clouds. You LIVE in the clouds. Riiight."
He walked past her, keeping his eyes on her, continuing on his way to the stream. "I'm Dorso," he said as he walked by, feeling magnanimous enough to give her his name.

"Well..." Siren added, "Not usually do thy live in thee clouds, but usually in thee mountains, over yonder." She motioned to a large range of mountains a far way off.
Si relaxed a bit, seeing the griff relax. He must know what an angel was. That was good. She folded her wings close to her back, her Halo tipping off to the side, making it look crooked.
"Dorso?" Siren repeated his name carefully. "I be' Siren, but thou friends call me Si." She nodded. "Where art thee going?" The griff asked.

Dorso frowned and looked at her before turning away to keep walking towards his spot. Which he didn't want to share with anyone, no matter how pretty.
"Well, I am going to the waterside. And YOU," he spat out as he glared back at her, "are not. Don't follow me, and do yourself a favor: get far away from me. I don't like you." This wasn't an actual insult or threat; he didn't like ANYONE. He was stating something that she, being an outsider, might not have known. Everyone else in the Haven already knew he didn't like them.

Siren blinked. Why couldn't she? "Why can't I?" She asked, tilting her head to the side. She had no idea about him not liking anyone, she was new.. and well.. not the brightest. "Why don't thou like me?" She whined. Why wasn't this angel liked? Si pouted, feeling rejected.

Dorso frowned back at her. "Because you're annoying," he began, spouting out his list as he turned to look at her, "you talk weird, you're not from here, you're obviously spoiled rotten, AND you whine." He snorted derisively, turning again to his usual path. He looked over his shoulder to continue.
"You're not allowed to come with me because it's MY spot. Everyone here knows that, and leaves me alone. Don't try to be any different. I can be even meaner than this if you push it," he growled.

Si blinked. "Thy talk funny? You talk funneh!" Si was already losing her strange accent, slowly, but steadily. She sighed, and her head lowered. "Fine, sir Dorso, I shall be on thou way.." With another sigh, the angel griff turned, and walked away slowly. Would he turn and call out to her? Thats what happened in all the fairy tales. Her reality was differrent, eveyone was nice, to her.. but she was slowly being exposed to the real reality.
