My main job is a monk. What is a good sub for monk? Is whm a bad choice? And what is the normal sub for Drg?

for monk, starting out, warrior would be a good choice, but if you could ninja or thief are better, if I remember correctly. Whm is never a good sub for any fighting class.

Im a level 46 MNk and so far the only goods subs are war and thf.

War sub will give you a lot of power and defence, being able to take and recive hits, but your accracy my be down aq bit. Also with war sub you hav provoke to be able backup tank and be a good SATA partner.

Thf sub will give you more evasion and accracy while secraficeing a some power like beserk that you get from war. But with Sneak Attack you get a garented critecle(sp?), but that with your weapon skill for awsome damage.

WHM, is good for soloing but not for partying, also you will need WhM up to max sub level, but thats only if you decide to take MNK to end game, WHM sub is nessary because when you fight HLNM, your chi Blast will need as much MND as you can get....

SAm, has been used befor but its a wast for pting, because if you constatly spam ws you will be pulling to much hate from take, thus getting the pt killed, sam sub isnt really that good untill you get it to 30 and MNK to 60, thats when you get meditation...

Nin, whould be good for ballista, but im not sure when you can cast shadows.

In conclusion, lol, War is the ideal sub cause it gives you a lot of power, but i think post 60 it will be too much pow, therfor you will asked to sub thf. so level both of them...

no i said war/nin sucked lol, but you dont have to listen to me if you dont want to, i just dont like the combo.

mnk sub is usually war or thf.
as for drg it really depends what you think suit you better with your wyverns breath attacks. depending what job you sub is what breath attacks you get. for exacmple war= offensive(fire water lightning wind etc) i think nin is balanced which means healing and offensive breaths, whm you will get something like healing breath n what not from your wyvern.

Ahh, I see, lol. Is ninja an expensive job? I read some where that it was, I think.

ya ranger and ninja are the two most expensive jobs in the game, in my opinion...

You have to buy "ninja tools" in order to use your ninjitsu spells...
The main one you use for you Shadows spell cost like 9k a stack on my server gonk

yeah Ninja's not cheap. it requires ALOT of farming

on average, a person will use roughly 100mil on their character before they hit 75 (Food, Armor, Spells, Weapons, Rings, Earrings, etc etc)

a NIN and RNG will spend double, maybe triple that. unless they craft their goods on their own.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 16, 2005 6:06 am

100mil... eek

300mil to be a RNG... gonk

Well, I guess that's not terribly surprising, cuz one of the people who's in the same linkshell as I just spent 99k on some kind of NIN weapon. There's a 3rd of the cost right there. She was like I better be able to kill a "GOD" with these things, but really I had no idea what she was talking about. xd

Gods are part of the endgame stuff, you kill them for Abjurations (armor pieces) and such.

well 1 thing about nin that I could add to your money cost is that I find that the price range is probly higher (On Alexzander anyway) good day of pting with tools and food....roughtly 80k-100k for a fulll day of pting depending on if I run out or not....then again this is on Alexzander and lvl 66 so really I guess it varies but I think its just higher
