Hey guys! I've decided to run the NAMG Sprint Cup series this season! With out further ado, here are the rules, they are just a little different this year: GENERAL RULESBe a good sport. There will be penalties for bad conduct, from a simple warning to points penalties to banning. No mule accounts. I WILL find out. twisted PICKINGYou pick one driver per race, only one. You CANNOT pick the same driver as someone else. Picking is done on a first come, first serve basis. As long as they are available, you may pick the same driver week to week, or a different driver each week. Choose wisely, once you make a pick, you cannot change it. Exceptions for invalid picks will be given though... Picking opens TUESDAY the week before each race at 9:00PM EST. Picking closes when the Green flag for the race flies. NO PICKS MADE AFTER THE GREEN WILL COUNT! Unlucky Dog rule: The unlucky dog pick will be given to the person with the worst finish in the previous race. Pick time for the unlucky dog person will be anytime from the end of the race to green flag of next week's race. RULE CHANGE: AUTOPICKS There are UNLIMITED autopicks this year, however, instead of the highest unpicked driver as in years past, you get the same points as the unlucky dog for that week. If you pick too early or pick a driver who has already been picked, and do not repick, you will be given an autopick for that week. POINTSYou earn what points your driver earns. If you pick someone who is not eligible to earn points in the Cup series (e.g. Trevor Bayne) YOU GET NOTHING! YOU LOSE! GOOD DAY SIR!RULE CHANGE: CHASE There will be a chase, which will begin after the 26th race. To spice things up this year this will be a true chase, not just a points reset. THE TOP FOUR PEOPLE IN POINTS, PLUS THE ONE WITH THE MOST WINS OUTSIDE OF THE TOP FOUR WILL BE IN THE CHASE. PENALTIES
If your driver for the race receives a points penalty from NASCAR for equipment violations or on track actions, you will also receive that penalty. If your driver receives a points penalty from NASCAR for actions off the track, you will not get the penalty. This thread is for picking ONLY! Non-pick posts made in this thread will be deleted and you will receive a warning. If it happens again you will get a 5-point penalty per offense. There will be a separate topic for discussion. Unsportsmanlike conduct will be penalized according to the offense.

Topic is up! Picking for the Bud Shootout will begin 2/14 at 9:00PM EST. There will be no points awarded, but there will be a prize for the winner! Picking is the same for normal races; only one driver, first come, first serve.

Good times, bad times, you know I've had my share... I think Led Zeppelin summed up this week perfectly with that line. Pearl wins, I'm second and nascar900 gets a 9th, while Crossfire, Dark, and Melethia get the bad times with finishes in the 30s. Dark falls to 4th in the points, while I take over the lead with Pearl and Chip close behind. Melethia gets the unlucky dog for Fontana!

I pick up my second win of the year while Chip fights her way back to 2nd, with Pearl in 3rd, Dark in 4th and Shadow back to 5th with Crossfire edging into the battle in 6th. Shadow gets the unlucky dog for Talladega!

What an interesting race, I think I got a pit-road speeding penalty though when I went to get a drink from the kitchen. Very little movement for a change this week, with only Melethia overtaking Chip for 6th. Pearl gets a pit-road speeding penalty the unlucky dog for Michigan!

Ouch for me. This stumble coupled with Shadow's win has brought him within 24 points of the me, and for the first time in weeks, there could be a new points leader. Crossfire and pearl also have bad days, with Crossfire falling back to 6th behind Melethia. Soultrain gets the unlucky dog for Louden!

What a weird week! Shadow, nascar900 and myself all get the EXACT SAME points as last week, which means Shadow gets another win! Everyone else though has a bad week. Melethia and Crossfire are now tied for 5th in the points, with Crossfire holding the tie-breaker. Dark gets the unlucky dog for Bristol!

It's been a long time since I rock and rolled,
It's been a long time since I did the Stroll.

It's been a long time, been a long time,
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time.
The chase is beginning to firm up with us. Here's a breakdown of each of us and what needs to happen:
1. Soultrain - Locked in. The worst I can finish is 3rd in the points, though that would be extraordinary circumstances.
2. nascar900 - Locked in, and only 19 points behind first. Has a shot to take the regular season points title even with not picking the first few races. The worst he can finish is 3rd in the points.
3. Shadow - Locked in. He has a longshot to win the regular season. and the worst he can finish is 4th, though Crossfire would need to make up 47 points on him.
4. Crossfire - Locked in, to at least a wildcard. While he could drop to 6th, he has 2 wins and enough points to keep him from being knocked out. While he could still mathematically catch Shadow for 3rd, it's unlikely. Staying ahead of Melethia for 4th would give him bonus points for the chase.
5. Melethia - On the bubble. She has the wildcard spot for now, 1 win and has a 25 point cushion on 6th. She is only 6 points behind Crossfire for 4th, but too far back to catch Shadow. If she can get past Crossfire, only Dark passing both of them would knock her out.
6. Dark - Out, but still a chance. He could still make it in without a win but would have to pass Melethia and Crossfire to get back up to to 4th, which is a steep 37 point climb. A win would improve his chances, reducing it to a 25 point climb to knock Melethia out of the wildcard.
7. Pearl - Out, but still a chance. She must win and Melethia must stay in 5th to make it in. A second win for her would knock Melethia out of the wildcard spot, but not Crossfire.
8. Chip - Out, but still a chance. Exactly the same as Pearl, must win and Melethia stays in 5th.
9. Systematic, Bolt, OutlawDad and Triple - Out. With no wins and hundreds of points back, there is no way to make it into the chase.
Whew! That was alot of thinking and typing. Dark gets the unlucky dog for Richmond!

Well, after the first race in the chase, the field is scrambled. I go from leading the points to tied with Melethia for 4th, an entire race behind Shadow. Nascar900 is in 2nd with Crossfire just one point behind in 3rd. Soultrain gets the unlucky dog for New Hampshire!

As most of you know, Jimmie Johnson's car failed pre-qualifying inspection, with the c-pillars of the #48 car being confiscated by NASCAR. While no penalty has been announced yet, rumors have it pretty severe. Just keep in mind that since this was an equipment violation, if you pick Jimmie Johnson for the Daytona 500 you will receive the same points penalty the #48 gets.
