► Hello there, my name is ◄
Aulerick Tiptaker.
I'm a male.
► I work in ◄
Ministry of Magic, Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes, the Muggle Liaison Office. Didn't do half bad in the interview if I do say so myself.
I'm 34 years old.
The house I was in was Hufflepuff.
► At work I seem ◄
quite a bit more open about my ideas and opinions than at home; after all, most of them are ones that mostly only wizards and witches can fully grasp and relate to. I am quite lenient, mistakes happen, but I believe every one should do the best they can without pushing themselves too hard. I like to assume the best of every one, but I've been told more than once that I come off as condescending... how do they figure that I wonder? Muggles deserve to be treated with respect, not herded like cattle.
► At home I'm ◄
a good bit less talkative - and perhaps you could even consider me distant in some ways. I get the feeling my wife is always upset with my presence, even more so when I try to spend time with my son, even if I just want to watch him; it's a bit of a tough environment. I've tried to sort it out, but... well... she's more interested in ignoring me for the time being. I've found a lot of solace in going out with friends to pubs and such.
► My background story is: ◄
The Tiptaker family is a fairly new wizarding family in the course of wizard history - it sprouted from a pair of muggle-borns during the beginning of the American Industrial Revolution. I'm the oldest of three siblings, I received the Tiptaker blood from my father's side, so now my son carries our name - well, now that we're sure he's a wizard. I was a Hufflepuff at Hogwarts - I admit that at the time I wasn't very pleased with my placement, but as they say, the hat knew best; I've grown to embrace the importance of compassion for the weak. I took particular interest in Muggle Studies not only because my family was born of muggles, but because they are the majority of humans on our planet. I've never quit my study of them since.
I met my wife on one of my first jobs for the Muggle Liason Office as an obliviator - not a job I was all too fond of. The spell left the muggles a bit off in the head it seemed to me... when I came across Kazue, swept off by a unicorn while hiking in the woods, I couldn't bring myself to wipe the memory from her - she seemed so exhilarated by the experience. After I retrieved her with some none-too-shabby wandwork she was absolutely breathless; yes, I admit it was a bit of a knight it shining armor moment. Surprisingly none of my co-workers or superiors noticed, or perhaps they were just turning a blind eye as I continued to mysteriously appear in Kazue's life at opportune moments. ... .... I'm sorry. Those were blissful times indeed... I'm afraid my wife has never been so taken with me since.
► I enjoy ◄
sitting down with a good book or a newspaper;
meditating, especially while appreciating some nice scenery;
using magic, but my wife slaps me on the wrist if I try it while she's home;
teas and sweets - another luxury I've had to abandon for married life;
having a good chat with old friends.
► I despise ◄
that most people can't use magic and that those who can't are often frightened or enraged by it;
senseless violence;
global issues;
stress.
► I look like ◄
light brown hair, sleepy blue eyes and a nearly constant gentle smile. I'm an average build, 6"2'. I usually wear wizard's robes, but my wife finds them silly, so I change into somewhat casual dress wear at home - I don't like to button my shirt up past the top of my chest and I role up the long sleeves - I have a feeling she still disapproves a bit, but to her it's so much of an improvement she'll settle for it.
► My wand is an ◄
oak wand made with a puffskein hair core, 12 inches long.
► My pet is a ◄
black toad. His name's George; he's been with me since my days at Hogwarts. Though he may not be as elegant as a cat or as 'useful' as an owl, he's quite magically powerful and knowledgeable. Toads are known for their great wisdom, after all. Can I talk to him? No, no, not at all. How do I know he's so clever then? Well, he's always got this knowing twinkle in his eyes, see?
