Due to personal, financial, and sanity reasons, I may not be attending Jacon. I just don't have the time and I'm certainly stressed enough as it is. ;-;
As such, the sleepover is definitely cancelled. We may try again for another convention but it just isn't happening right now.
However, there is still a chance I may be attending Saturday. If I do then I'll prolly still get a hotel room to crash after the rave. If that happens then we can still party between the time the dealer's room closes and the rave. This is still uncertain at this time, but I will confirm one way or the other hopefully within the week.
If anyone wishes to take over this event, feel free to PM me.

16 March 2006 - Kay lyke. Everyone should be recovered from MegaCon and gearing up for JACON. LYKE WOAH. It's like 6 weeks away. Dude.
Anyway. It's time to get serious about planning the party side of the event but there are still sleepover spots open. Please let me know if you wish to reserve one.
Food: I think we can pretty much agree pizza is our best option for food. The number of pies we get will obviously depend on the number of reservations. BUT. I'm thinking simple toppings, like say, cheese, pepperoni, and sausage. Maybe a mushroom too. Thoughts, suggestions? I'll take special requests but that will be dealt with closer to the event.
Soda: I'll provide ice and cups if you guys bring a bottle [2 liter] each. Sound fair?
Games/Entertainment: People have suggested they'll bring video games. I do not know what kind of hookups are available in the rooms but I will ask. I'd rather not have movies cos that would just get too distracting and I doubt we'll find a movie ALL of us can agree on. Little games and such might be fun, so yanno, feel free to bring whatever.
Please keep in mind, I will NOT be responsible for any lost or stolen games, pieces, or property. Though I will gladly beat the ******** out of anyone caught stealing. biggrin

8 Feb 2006 - Okay right now I'm opening up five slots for the sleepover. If more wish to come we might get another room blah blah blah etc etc etc. Party planning will start after MegaCon.
6 Feb 2006 - Okay so we checked with the hotel and well. Here's the thing. The cheapest room is two double beds at $99 +tax. The other two rooms, if I understand it correctly will be around $150 +tax. One of these rooms is a king with a fold out couch and the other are two queen sized beds. Sounds to me like the doubles is prolly our best bet.
I know I would prefer my own bed [and I'd pay for it too] so I'm thinking we will open about six slots for the sleepover. If more become interested, we might get two rooms.
Also, just about everyone that seems interested is over 18 [as far as I know] so the sleepover event will be 18+ only. Sorry for any inconvenience.

No, seriously. Since GaFC [Gaians at Florida Conventions] is turning into a one meetup per con kinda guild, I'm running this here. Essentially, the plan is obvious: Have a party and sleep over. I will be getting a hotel room for this event and we'll have pizza or whatever and hang out, play games, attack each other with stickers, etc.
JACON is April 28-30, 2006. The event will be Friday, 30 April. Times to be determined.
Important points:
o1. As much as I'd like to, I cannot foot this bill myself. I'd like to make as cheap as possible for you all, and to do that, we need to have quite a few people sign up for this. This also includes food. I can afford to feed myself and one of my friends now and then. There's no way I can afford to feed you all. sad
o2. There will be ABSOLUTELY NO alcohol. Either I make this a 21 and up event, or we go with no al-kee-hall. If you bring it, I'll insist you take it back to your car/room/away from the room. If you show up drunk, you won't be permitted to stay. One night of sobriety won't kill you.
o3. I'm still debating whether the actual sleepover will be 16 or 18 and up. I'm thinking if it's 16, I might require permission slips so no angry parents can climb my a** about it. The party will be all ages until a certain time.
o4. The actual sleepover event WILL be rvsp. If you're not confirmed by Wednesday or Thursday [depends on the last chance I'll have to check the guild], don't plan on being able to stay.
o5. As for the party, if you pay [and aren't stupid] you can stay.
So now, to help make final determinations such as food and soda choice, age restrictions, etc. it's time to post if you're in. I will understand if finances or whatever prevent you from actually being a part of it, right now I'm more interested in finding out how many are interested.
