My friend wants to write a book with our little group in school as the main characters. He can't make a plot, and all the ones he's come up with are things that every decent roleplayer knows not to even attempt.
Please talk to him... the rest of us can't get through to him...

I'm hoping to do the first, but if he continues to refuse to reason with us (me and our other friend) Then I'll have to make him remove me from the story, and I'm sure our friend will too.

Ah, well if his plot is crap, suggest some good stories with well designed plot for inspiration.
If he's trying to write all of it from his a** with no real background or research then yeah, pull out now. The story will probably turn out to be crap.

I've been using rping plots as examples. His plots so far are things like. "War" (which is a setting) and a random mission that all the characters set off on with different goals, and nothing to tie them together.

I mean, just emotionally detach yourself from the story. Even if he includes you, it's not like it'll be published. Unless he posts it onto youtube. Then he'll probably be the next Justin Bieber, and your good name will be smeared forever

Well, if nothing ties the characters together there's little reason to put them together, if nothing ties them to the plot there's little reason for them to exist. Probably shouldn't use RP plots as examples though. They usually verge a bit too far to the open-ended side.

He claims that they're connected at the very end of the story, and we'll have an "Oooh I get it!" moment, but the story isn't even a chapter in, and he refuses to tell anyone how the end connects everything...

The least he could do is tell ONE of us how it ends, so at least we know it's not gonna suck and make us all upset.

If he has an idea how it's going to end, then cool. If he's just piecing things together as he goes then that's a bad sign. He probably should just TELL you since he's using your names right? I mean otherwise why can't he just come up with other names?

It's not our names, it's names we choose, along with our personalities (at least, his view of our personalities). It doesn't seem like he has any plan, and he's doing his whole "You can't understand, only I am capable of understanding things relating to me.
Damn right we can't understand. We can't understand because they DON'T MAKE ANY ******** SENSE!

You could always sit back and enjoy the show as he makes a fool of himself. Leave him enough rope to hang himself with, as the saying goes.

Ah. Well, unfortunately we're stuck with an honor system when trying to keep friends from using our OCs or personalities and handles without our permission. All you and your other friend can really tell him is he can't use you as characters without your input. That's the deal. You can't really stop him otherwise, but if he goes through with it, it is a distinct betrayal of trust.
Also if he thinks you, the people closest to him, can't possibly understand, then what makes him think an unfamiliar book editor will?
