I'm already unsure of my joining ...... These questions may be important to me remaining here or not:
* Posting the character's picture in each post ...... Will a Tektek do? (I consider Tektek's superior, in that one may easily change details to the character, like a gun, a cup, or a microphone .... ) * What is the level of "literacy" in the Guild's Roleplays? I mean, in several roleplays here on Gaia, i have seen the word "literate" being used as mening "must write 30 words or more in each post", and i cannot do that, my roleplay background is actual Rpg's ...... (like MUTANT, WoD, and such) i prefer more .... fluid .... gaming. * If i want to make my own Rpg-like Roleplay here, would that be ok? ... Or simpler, if i want to make my own Roleplay here, how much .... would i be able to adapt rules and requirements? Example1: The characters have no idea that a sniper is aiming at them, but one may spot it .... or not. The Rpg way is to roll a die, but the result of that dieroll may very well affect the "no Godmod rule", because it allows the GM to affect the players. Example 2: Can i require that the players use only Tekteks as pictures?
... That's all questions i can come up with now .....

... That's all questions i can come up with now ..... Hello! ^.^ Welcome to the guild. Fun to have you here! Whoops, then I better answer your questions as good as I can! ^.^ 1. What I mean with the "post your characters picture in every post" is that you should post the same picture of your character in every post. With picture I mean either like manga/anime pictures of your character or real human pictures. No tekteks. They are kind of ugly and unpersonal really! xd Examples: or 2. That depends on wich RP you are joining in the guild. If you join one of my RPs....Then literate is: that you have a pretty good grammar, be creative, handle a good english language and not write stuff like "OMG. I LIKE TOTOALLY FELL OFA FCAUCJK CHARAARI!! *falllllls of chaiiiiiiiir* And stuff like that. I write how many pharagrafs too. biggrin Semi literate- is the same as above but slightly worse. And the last one I don't even mind talking about since I would never want to write such crap as" *kicks on the floor*" OH YEAH!! I want no: He told her he was in love with her. I want: "I'm in love with you." He told her. 3. If you want to write your own RPs...You can create your own rules and all your own requirements! As long as you follow my rules (I'm going to change and update them today) You can do whatever you want in your own created RP. And if someone doesn't follow your rules, you talk to me and I can give them a warning! biggrin So once you have created your own RP, you are the only one in charge of it and not even I can but in and tell you what to do. (If you don't break any of my rules that is) Godmodding case: Let's see if I have gotten this straight.....If you are going to hurt very badly och kill another character you must have permission from that character´s player. If you have allowance from that player then you can do whatever you want! biggrin Tektek case: Yes, if it's in your RP then you can require that. Even if I am not too fond of them! xd Yeah sure! :3 Go ahead! You're the boss in your own RP!

Hmmm .... No matter whether i leave or stay, these questions were important for any newcomer .... and since this seems to be a fairly new Guild, they may even be important for those who have already joined.
Now, comments to the answers:
* To me, tekteks are more personal than mere pictures ..... I guess we disagree there. Me leaving: +1 * Ok, that is what I usually mean whith being literate, and i have no problem with that .... but what do you mean with "I write how many pharagrafs too."? * Making one's own RP ..... Godmodding: When Gamesmastering an Rpg, the GM is, essentially, god. However, a GM that abuses this "godhood" won't get any players, simple as that. I assume the "No Godmodding" rule for Roleplays comes from the idea of not using any GM at all, but that all are players, essentially. Personally, i'd rather do it more Rpg-style than the kind of roleplay where the player may claim "i fight off this group of enemies" and i, as GM, can't say "nope, one of the enemies is better than you at fighting, and deals a terrible blow to your chest" ..... , since i would then be godmodding. Tektek: Ok, so this is really an exception to your rules, at least as they were? In that case: Me staying: +1
Now, an important addition: Addition to * #3: How is it with NPC's? As a GM, one needs NPC's, sometimes even a lot.

Hahahahah xd I must admit that I am utterly confuced, I must say that sometimes I might not be too suitable to answer these kinds of questions. I'm more used to 1x1 RPs or just being part of a RP. I've only been doing RPG for half a year! razz
*Yes, everyone feels different about different things! ^.^
*Stuff like: "Write at least 2-3 paragrapfs per post" I just want that so that people may add details and some life to their posts.
*Making an own RP. This is actually mostly what this guild is made for. People creating their OWN RPs and letting everyone else join in.
*Hmm.....I think I get what you mean. In the first RP I was in there was a GM. But he wasn't really too much needed. Because of the fact that everyone let the story flow on by it self. But I get what you mean. You need a GM to be able to control the story and create big events in it. GMs are what I call a "Mod" in a story. But the GM situation will probably be different in every RP.
*NPCs. This depends on whose RP it is. Everyone think different. But in my stories I like that everyone can godmod all the NPCs. If not someone has created a NPC and wants it all by itself.

... You seem to encounter some problems when quoting ..... ... If you have access to an Rpg Rulebook, there is usually(nowadays) a section about advices for a GamesMaster(called DungeounMaster in D&D, Storyteller in White Wolf's games, and Spelledare in Swedish wink ). Reading through that part, would make this easier to understand ......
A GM is not allowed to play sides (some do it anyway), one has to set aside any personal desire to "win", and instead work towards a good, entertaining, story for the players. GM's who forget that, often finds themselves without Players, unless the players are desperate and/or the GM manages to be really entertaining anyway.
Ok, to the questions .... one * is solved, so i go directly to next:
* Paragraphs or sentences? (Just want to make sure you use the correct word.... ) I mean, if i want to catch up with someone, is it then enough with: "I run after him" or do i have to write "I run after him, wondering what to do if icatch up" or even "Heart pounding, i run after him, worried about what i shall do if i actually catch up" or the massive: "I see he is running towards the courtyard, so, heart pounding and feet aching, i run after him, not knowing what to do if i actually catch up with him, knowing he is a great fighter ..... ?
Next: So, essentially, i would be a Mod(?) in any RP i'd make here, probably. (I'm quite good at GamesMastering .... ) But still, where do that leave the "Godmod" definition?
NPC's: That all can godmod the NPC's is a good start, but it may also lead to abuse of the NPC's intended purpose, or even totally remove it from that purpose, or making it act in a way it should not act ......

Thank you sooooo much for pointing it out to me! ^.^
If I find one, I will definitly read it! biggrin
Personally, I like the last one! biggrin The one with much detail and much life! biggrin I have learned that pharagrapfs mean 5 sentences.
But I repeat once again, these rules are all totoally individual according to whose story it is. I didn't make the guild just because I wanted myself to make stories, it's made for others to also make stories. So my answers might be hell of a different to others answers.
The GM scenario. I see. I've encountered that. The GM is like a god, right? He can do whatever he wants to the other players, even kill or hurt them, and no one can judge him. That sounds good. I've never really tried this GM before. It seems really much fun. But I'd rather just play in my RP then actually control it. ^.^ Wich might be a problem..... But GM is when you affect the story and events and might hurt other characters right? And Godmodding is when you actually control the other players characters.
NPC: You're right. I should probably make a short summary of all my more importiant NPCs so that no one thinks the wrong thing about them.
Then last: I'd like to see that GM experience of yours, make a RP and show me! biggrin Or maybe you want to be a GM in my vampire RP when it's ready to be opened for public?

...... Ummm... was that a sarcasm? It's hard to tell over the net .... sweatdrop
Ooop, the last one .... The problem with the last one, is that it is taken out of context: To me, it would already have been mentioned by someone else before, that the fighter was running towards the courtyard, so why mention it again? That he is a great fighter, would already have been noticed as well ....
When there is a GM (at least an active one), there is often no reason for anyone to write more than one paragraph, and usually, less are well enough .... unless you are the GM, of course, because the GM may be required to make several paragraphs whenever it is neccesary to describe places and things. Thanks for the info on "paragraphs", though. ^_^
The GM scenario: Yes, you have gotten it essentially right (there are some Rpg's (horror variants) where the GM is even ok'd to control player character's actions, but i dislike those aspects: I mean, the player are there to play, not to get disabled ...... So your comment: "But GM is when you affect the story and events and might hurt other characters right? And Godmodding is when you actually control the other players characters." This, i would totally accept! 3nodding
NPC: I ended up making simple descriptions for a few Rp's i made ... sadly, it was in Guilds that weren't very active, or not very focused on roleplays ....
Hm, it seems i would have to GM again ....... I have a tendency to mix genres a bit, i often feel that "Raw" concepts are .... uninteresting. I have no idea why .... .... But i have currently no real idea on the "Main" genre ...
I have a complete world, with characters and plotlines from earlier play occasions and projects i have had ... perhaps that would work .... ..Or a variant of it. ......

At least that is what I think. razz Yeah. But I've made the pharagraph rules in my RPs just so that people won't take it for granted and write short, uninteresting posts! It's sad when people won't get active in a guild. That is what is happening in my guild! xd No one wants to join my RPs. Not even if I've worked so hard on them! razz That's a good idea! biggrin It sounds interesting! Why don't you create a RP and show me? Or just tell me some about this "whole world". And we really could need more RPs in this guild! xd

Hm, it's obvious i can't be a player in one of your roleplays, since i prefer it simple as a player. As a GM or such, i don't mind getting very detailed when neccesary, but as a player ..... 5 sentences is often a maximum for me, not a minimum.
...............The "World" i'm speaking of, is .... kind of a "Modern era + Mix". There are superheroes and -villains, furry hybrids, shapeshifters, beings from the horror- and splatter genres, robots, artificial intelligences, bionics ....., fighters of different styles, and Military forces composed of mythical beings. One may also play a relatively "normal" human, that encounters the wierdness of that world.
Thing is, i have noticed that my improvising works better when i don't get stuck in describing something that was just to be temporary ....
Anyway, if you find any of those aspects interesting .... i'll see what i can do .... (I have no ideas, right now ... )

I see. Well, maybe someone else can come up with a bit less detailed story! biggrin Since I love both writing and reading, then I love long posts.
IT sounds really cool! biggrin I'm kind of interested in the "human explorer" part! razz
Maybe that is the same thing for me sometimes, but describing is also neccesairy to create a special kind of atmosphere!

Mmmm... i've realized that "Roleplaying" really seems to go all the way from Collective Storytelling, to effectively Gaming.
Those who are in on the "several sentences" are closer to joint storytelling, while the ones used to Rpg's are closer to the gaming style.
I also like to write, but when i do, it also reflect my gaming style: I only descibe what is neccesary, not more, not less ... i tend to call it "Comics in novel-form".
.... Yeah, i'll try make my own Rpg-infuenced roleplay here, it is easier to show than talk about it .....

That's a really good description of our different ways to write! biggrin biggrin It really feels like I am writing on a story. And I guess taht games are shorter and more fast! biggrin
That's good! biggrin Same here! I write as much as I think is good, and then I skip what I don't need! Even if my posts get very long! xd
That's fun! biggrin biggrin I'll check it out regulary! biggrin biggrin

Stupid Fruitcake Question~ Uhm, stupid question but what kind of RPs would you expect in the Action Subforum? Annndddd also if there is an RP which covers two subforums, is it okay to put it in one of them instead? Just wondering... No question is too stupid! ^.^ In the action subforum eh? Anykind of RP that involvs much fights, action and speed! If it covers two, put it in the one it seems most accurate to be in! For example...if it a romantic piratestory then it school be put in the historic forum Or if you think that it's missing some sort of a subforum, tell me and I will add it if I think it is neccesairy! Never be afraid of asking me to ask forums! The guild has much money! ^.^
