Kiri stepped out of her cab, stretching her long legs and pulling her new slave, Valencia, after her. She closed the door, waved on the cab driver, and pulled a cigarette out of her pocket. She lit it, took a long drag, and let out a contented sigh. Glancing at Valencia, she said, "Welcome to my humble home, sweetheart." She smirked and looked up at her mansion's towers, still clearly visible over the high fence. Noticing Valencia's broom and dust pan charm, she chuckled and gestured towards it. "I'm very glad of that." She said, putting her cigarette back to her lips. "This place hasn't been cleaned for years. I'll expect you to begin immediately." She played with her end of Valencia's leash, blowing out the remaining smoke from her lungs.

"Mmmm..." Kiri finished her cigarette, dropped it to the ground, and stepped on it. She unsnapped the leash from Valencia's collar and began to walk through the gates, motioning for Valencia to follow. The gates closed of their own accord, but Kiri didn't seem to notice, and kept walking towards the doorway. As soon as she reached it, she looked over her shoulder and said, "You'll find all the cleaning supplies you need in the closet nearest to the fireplace. You'll be relieved of your duties for dinner later tonight." A small, evil smile crept upon Kiri's face before she stepped through the dark doorway and disappeared into the mansion.

"The living room and the bathrooms, but only the ones on this floor. That will be enough for today." Kiri's gaze suddenly became stern, and she said, "I don't want to see a single cobweb when I come down for dinner." A strange expression came over her face for a second, and she said thoughtfully, "You're not afraid of spiders, are you?"

Kiri hid a small smile behind her hand, then turned and began to walk up the dusty staircase. Halfway up, she stopped and looked down at Valencia. For a second, her eyes changed to a golden-brown, and two sharp fangs appeared out of her mouth, pressing against her bottom lip. Suddenly she shivered, closed her eyes tight, and forced the fangs and eyes away. "I'll need more slaves before soon, if I keep this up." She murmured quietly, hurrying up the stairs. She rushed into her room, locked the door, and forced herself into a fitful slumber until dinnertime.

Kiri awoke deep in the night, nearly crying out at a horrible nightmare. She took deep breaths, images of fire and blood still fresh in her mind. After a few minutes, she stood with a growl, frustrated with herself. Her throat was burning wildly - she'd forgotten to have her filling of blood that evening. "This is what happens when you don't eat, Kiri." She muttered to herself. "You have nightmares." Rubbing her temples, she realized she'd been alone for so long that she wished she had someone to remind her to take her blood every day. Her guardian had always done that...
She shook her head to clear her thoughts, grabbed a bottle of blood resting on her bedside table, and walked out of her room. Her form automatically changed to that of a vampire's, bringing the dark hallway into sharp focus. Taking long gulps of blood to satisfy her seemingly unsatiable thirst, she walked down the stairs and caught a whiff of Valencia. Nearly dropping her blood, Kiri realized she'd forgotten about her slave. She quickly followed Valencia's scent to a closet, and quietly opened it to a small, sleeping form.

Kiri stared at her for a moment, seemingly unable to speak. Taking a deep breath, she said quietly, "Whether or not you are a slave, Valencia, you do not deserve to sleep on the floor." She held out her arm for Valencia to take, making sure it was the opposite one in which she held her bottle of blood. "I meant to show you the spare rooms upstairs after dinner, but dinner was obviously forgotten. So for tonight, you will share my bed." She smiled suggestively at her, when in truth, she simply wanted someone nearby in case she had another nightmare. She slowly reversed her vampire form, so as to seem less threatening, knowing that she could see well enough to get back to her room.

"If you were supposed to do something, I would have told you." She closed her hand gently around Valencia's and continued, "And if you were a nuisance, my dear, you would not be in my house." She looked at the bottle in her other hand, shook it thoughtfully, and said, "Though I do expect you to wake me from now on for dinner. If not for blood..." She looked back to her slave, "to remember to feed you."
