Brock stood still ready for another battle. "Go Geodude!" He sent out his first Pokemon and waited for the other trainer's response. "Since you are the challenger, you may go first..."

     The gym was vast and almost too intimidating, though after Brock sent out his first Pokemon, Crystal knew she was in the right place. "Alright, Geodude huh? I choose you! Ally!" Crystal's Squirtle jumped from its Poke-Ball, though it seemed nervous being face to face with the Geodude. "You can do it! We have the first attack, so use your water gun Ally!" Ally nodded and launched a stream of water at the rock and ground type Geodude.

Brock's facial expression didn't change one bit. He stayed constant like the stones in his gym. "Use Defense Curl! Hold up as much as you can!" He had dealt with many Squirtles before from trainer's who were too cocky with the type advantage, and had crushed them easily. However, this Squirtle was stronger than the rest as he noticed his Geodude struggling.

Crystal smiled, though she didn't want to seem to excited about this. She remembered when they had got cocky on Route One and things almost got too bad for them. "Okay, now let's mix it up a little okay? Instead of using Water Gun, use Bubble!" True, Bubble wasn't as strong as Water Gun but it did render their opponent's speed. Ally inhaled as much as she could and exhaled bubbles that went towards Geodude.

As the water let up, Geodude let out a sigh of relief. "Don't stop now! Tackle right through her attack!" The Geodude charged right at the bubbles, they did damage with each one it hit, but it continued to charge right to the Squirtle with a tackle.

The Squirtle wasn't much at speed, so it was tackled! Knocking it to the ground. "Oh no! You can do it Ally! Come on, I know you can!" Ally struggled for a moment before getting up and awaiting orders. "Now, let's try and do this again! Water Gun Ally, and don't give in!"Ally nodded and shot a blast of water at the Geodude who was now closer to them due to the tackle.

The geodude was hit by the Water Gun, this time with little protection at all. It was sent flying back with the blast and knocked out with ease. "We are going to need to work on that endurance Geodude, but well done." Brock said as he withdrew his Pokemon.

"You may have defeated my Geodude, but the fight starts now..." Brock then sends out his second Pokemon, a giant rock snake emerges from the pokeball. It glared down at the small blue turtle. "Use Rock Tomb!" Brock called out to Onix. The Onix grabbed nearby rocks with its tail and then tossed them above the Squirtle so that it would fall on it.

"Oh no! Quickly, use your Water Gun and knock away those giant rocks!" Ally nodded, putting her fear for the giant rock snake aside so that she could do her trainer proud. She had already known that she'd be the sole Pokemon for this match since Oliver and Coraline didn't even stand a chance. After knocking one away, she realized the other rocks were coming to fast to shift the momentum for. "Alright then, just use Withdraw!" Ally hid inside her shell before taking impact with the several rocks. After she was sure it was safe to come out, she came out, though slowly. She was injured but she didn't want to show it to her ally Crystal. "Let's go on the offense, Water Gun!" Ally nodded and released a stream of water onto the giant rock snake, Onix.

The Onix winced at the Water Gun attack, for it was slow and couldn't dodge it very well. "Don't let up! I should be tired, so Tackle it now!" Brock said to his Pokemon. The Onix tried to deflect the stream of water with his tail as it moved closer to where the squirtle was, ready to pound on it.

Both Crystal and Ally noticed the Onix getting closer to them. "Don't give in, show him your best! Water Gun him!" Ally opened its mouth wider, causing even more water to be released. She didn't want to disappoint her trainer like she felt she had done before. She didn't want to have any regrets this time around.

The Onix was now getting pushed back with the enforced water gun, getting damaged each second it pushed forward. Brock knew that his time was limited and he needed to act fast. "Forget the Tackle! Use Rock Tomb again!" He called out, the Onix let his tail drop down to the ground and kicked up rocks at the Squirtle.
