All the CPUSA does is bow at the feet of the "liberal" bourgeois politicians. As you can see, I don't much like them, or most parties, to be frank. Most of them have no real goals or are fixated on their "leader". It's a shame really. stare

We have the Communist Party of Australia and the Socialist Alliance. Both of which, I am sure Gracc and Kotka will be happy to tell you, have enough trouble not splitting up into various factions, so much as unifying the far left of Australia. Well, not that that matters to Gracc. He wants to spill blood, after all.

I'm pretty far from party politics, though, living in Alberta the hellhole as I do. CPC newsletters barely even talk about what they think government should do save for basic things, so I can't exactly even evaluate them. Wait, ********, wrong account. Whatever. As a Canadian, do you find Canadian patriotism completely annoying and baseless? It's one of the main things that irritates me about Canadian patriotism more than, you know, when a country with a unique cultural background and things to be proud of has patriotism.

Personally I love the patriotism that USSR had. It gets s**t done. -shrugs- Also Patriotism /=/ Nationalism. They are similar and CAN go hand in hand, but not necessarily so.

You should look up the term "Social-Patriotism."
Anyway, patriotism serves to spread the lie that the working class of a given country has some sort of real 'connection' or identity of interests to 'its' bourgeoisie, and is distinct, and has separate interests from the rest of the international proletariat. This serves, in practice, regardless of the aims of those pushing patriotism, to weaken the working class and tie it to the bourgeoisie of that country, preventing revolution.
