A date. Quinn said.
No, it wasn't a date. Writ had made that perfectly clear to Quinn, both on the phone and in person. But the guy just insisted. So Writ played along with it. If the only way he was going to see his friend and discuss a few Game related things with him, well, he knew Coyote had been in more awkward situations.
Bring something. Quinn said.
Well, Writ supposed if this was a "Date", he'd have to spend a little money, and if it was a date with another guy, he figured that he'll have to get a little drunk. So he spent what was left of his landlady fund on a 4 liter box of white wine. Cheap, but classy. Classy on a budget anyway, but wine from a glass and wine from a plastic nozzle didn't seem too different from each other...
He took a deep breath, and rang the doorbell.

A date! Quinn was barely able to contain himself from skipping through the house. He was excited. A date with Writ! He didn't know how it would turn out, but he knew it would be fun. He looked around the house nervously. He had actually tidied up, some. (Cleaned is such a harsh word.) His room actually had space to walk in, and it had no food and the smell was gone completely. The rest of his house was passable, and actually looked like normal people lived there.
His outfit was deliberated over for quite a long time. They weren't going anywhere, they were just staying in. He wanted to impress Writ with his choice, but didn't want to look like he was trying too hard. He stared at his closet, brow furrowed. Something shocking! Something surprising!
Actual clothes, maybe?
He settled on a pink V-neck with long sleeves, and tight jeans. It felt wierd to have so much clothing on, but it was the biggest splash he thought he could make; Writ hadn't seen him with a shirt since he was a kid.
Hearing the doorbell, he made his way to the door, and opened it. He grinned at the other boy. "Hooray! You made it. Come on in." He gestured into the house, and his eyes fell on the box the other boy was holding. "What's in there?"

Writ was taken aback with Quinn's appearance. He was under the impression that the godling had sold most of his clothes in order to pay for the house, but seeing Quinn clothed was almost unnerving. It looked like his idea of formal was to actually have a shirt on. Writ regained his composure, and cleared his throat,
"Some wine." Writ tugged at the small plastic nub that the wine was supposed to come out of. He didn't sound too enthusiastic about the whole prospect with a date with Quinn. He walked into the house and asked, "There anywhere I could put this?"

Quinn nodded. "Yeah, take it into my room." He gestured down the hall. "I'll get some cups." He jogged lightly into the kitchen and pulled out two plastic cups, bringing them back into his room. "Here you go." He smiled warmly as he handed the cup over to Writ, and sat down on his bed. It was the only thing available to sit on in the room.
Quinn didn't do that on purpose at all.
"So," he began, waving his cup out at Writ. "Pour some for me!"

"You sure you don't want to put this in the kitchen?" Writ thought the bedroom was an odd place to put a box of wine. But Quinn insisted, and Writ supposed that Quinn knew his house best. Besides, the bedroom was closer to the kitchen. Hefting four liters of anything all day wasn't exactly easy.
"Right right..." Writ pulled the nozzle and let the wine gush into Quinn's cup, he handed it to him, "Think I got a little too much, but hey, it was cheap."
It'd be one full-sized soda bottle of wine for each of them if they tried to down it. Quinn looked like the type to pass out first, which Writ was hoping for. He had enough awkward earlier with Quinn practically seducing him in the middle of the street. Perhaps he could warn him about Vale and ask him about messing with the Blacksuits before then.
Maybe after they drank a little though. Writ sat down on the bed and took swig of wine from his cup.
"Nice place you got here."

"It's alright. We've lived here for ages." He glanced around his room. "Not the cleanest, but it's better than it usually is. I'm pretty sure things live in here with me." He laughed, and took a sip of his drink. "So, other than trying to get little old ladies to give you cash, what have you been up to?"
He leaned back against the backboard of the bed, and stretched out his legs, setting them on top of Writ's legs.
"I've been kind of bored, just hanging around here."

"Well, if you want to get rid of some mice, you should call me up. Beats having to pay for lunch." Writ smiled.
Writ frowned, the women he seduced weren't that old.
His landlady didn't count, That was strictly business.
"Me and my friend blew up an Uppers building a couple of weeks ago. It's all over the news lately." That was an exaggeration, but "blew up" was a lot more simple than your, "we threw bricks through a skyscraper." Now that he thought of it though, the latter option sounded a lot more fun.
"Thought you would have wanted to come, but I couldn't get a hold of ya."
Writ leaned against the backboard. When Quinn put his legs on his, there was an awkward pause before he scooted down for some more wine. This isn't a date. Writ reminded himself, Quinn could say whatever he wanted, but this was just some talk and some drinks between two friends.
Still, it didn't stop it from being freaking weird. It was Quinn making the moves on him that made this conversation... A little more than it should be.
"What do you mean by 'We'?"

"Haha, I thought dogs didn't eat mice?" He took another sip of his wine. He was drinking it noticeably slower than Writ.
"You blew up a building? That's awesome! I haven't been watching much T.V. recently, but that's awesome. You should have tried harder, I would have loved to participate." He grinned at the other man.
"Me and my mother. She lives here, too." He flipped around suddenly and whirled so that hsi head was resting on Writ's legs where his legs had been before. He looked up at the other man's face. "What about you? You live with anyone?"

"Why do you think we chase cats? Mice are a good source of protein." He laughed at his own joke. So what if he was some god-dog-guy-thing? He had enough experience as a coyote to vouch for dogkind.
"You still live with your mom? How the hell does that work out? You're only a head shorter than I am now, and you were one pretty short kid. Don't tell me she didn't notice." He looked down at Quinn's head on his lap, then got off the bed for some more wine.
"Paid for a piece of s**t apartment over in downers. It ain't much, but it beats sleeping in fire escapes." Writ pulled the nozzle for more wine and sighed, "Gets kinda lonely sometimes."

Quinn set his drink aside, and followed Writ off of the bed, standing close to the other man. "She never asked. And I like this house. I'm used to it." He rested one side of his face against the godling's chest. "You're so wierd. I'm like, a snake thing and I wouldn't eat animals. Probably because I can hear them beg for mercy. Eh. Whatever." He laughed a bit, and reached his arms around Writ's Neck.
"Well, if you ever want any company at your apartment, you know, I'm always here." He rubbed his nose against Writ's neck. "And my mother doesn't care if I go out."

"Wow, your mom must be the chillest person ever. If I told my mom what happened, she would freak out." Writ went back to bed, and felt Quinn on him again. The rainbow colored feathers on his seducer's arms made him want to sneeze-- but he held it in. He didn't want wine spurting out of his nose.
He pulled the nozzle again."A snake thing with wings that listens to their prey? And you call me weird." Writ took one long gulp from his glass and got up from Quinn's embrace for more. It was the only way to keep Quinn off him without saying anything.
"I've been pretty lonely since Crow disappeared." He said as he poured more wine for himself, "Sure, we had our arguments and she was on Ciro's side for a while, but I think we had something going, you know?" He put emphasis on the word "she", Writ hoped Quinn got the hint.

"I never met Crow. Was she nice?" He plopped back down on the bed, leaning against the headboard, pouting slightly that his advances weren't working yet. He eyed his drink, but decided not to have any more, for the moment. Only one of them had to be drunk for this to work.
"Hey, now, It's not that I want to listen to them. I just do. And mice and rats bring me things in return for not eating them. So it works out. But, get on my bad side, and you'll find them in your fridge." He grinned, fangs incredibly obvious in the toothy smile.
"Eh. Ciro was crazy. Good kisser, though. I think. I did most of the kissing." He laughed. "Wait, did you know that? I kissed him once!" He grinned at Writ. "That was an interesting day. Vale about killed me, though." His face turned downcast.
Vale...
Quetzalcoatl didn't say anything. He hadn't said anything for a long time, really. Since the incident with Vale...He'd have thought his god would have been jumping for joy. What was up with him?
He shook off the sad face, and smiled falsely up at Writ. "Eh, enough about Vale. He was a loser, I'm through with him, yadayada." Whatever you have to tell yourself.
Quinn eyed Writ getting even more wine. That boy was drinking practically the entire box, it seemed like.
"Yeah. The only 'something going' I had was with a guy who was basically destined to be my mortal enemy or some s**t. Ugh. Whatever."

Getting up to get more wine seemed to Writ the only way for him to avoid contact with Quinn. This plan was slowly backfiring, and Writ was too drunk to get himself to notice.
"Yeah, she was nice." Writ looked down at his glass of wine and swirled it around, "Really nice." He didn't say anything more about her. There was some hope that she might come back, and Writ didn't want to jinx it.
He laughed when Quinn mentioned Ciro, not the usual fun laugh that Writ had, but a high, drunken burst that rang through the air.
"Oh man, really? That's priceless!" He laughed some more, "It's like that time I told Vale that me and Ciro were lovers, and he totally believed me!" Writ gulped down his wine and and sighed. He was really red in the face.
So Quinn was Vale's "girl". Still doesn't explain why he's trying to kill him, but Writ decided to save that mystery for a more sober time.
"Oh man, I needed that laugh."

"Did he really?" Quinn snorted. "That sounds like Vale." He grinned a bit, and watched Writ get more and more drunk. This was working out well. "Yeah, laughing's generally a good thing." He closed his eyes, recalling the incident. "Vale walked in right when we were on the couch kissing. Ciro thought I was a woman, I didn't tell him my real name. Fun times." He shrugged. "Needless to say, I bolted out of there fast as soon as Vale showed up. We weren't on the best of terms then. Now we're back where we started, I guess."
Quinn decided to take a bit more subtle approach. He scooted over a bit so Writ was in arms reach, and lifted a hand up to lightly run his fingers through the other man's hair.
I mean, he is a sort-of dog...right?
He was setting it up. He was going to let Writ come to him.

Quinn was still all over him, and Writ- drunk, tired, and lonely as hell, really didn't care anymore. He hit his head against the headboard and let Quinn on his hair. If he had a tail, it would wag. Certain instincts were kicking in, and Writ's drunkenness wasn't helping matters.
"You know Quinn? I like you." His eyes were fixed at the other end of the room, half shut. "All those other kids out there? They change man, when the gods get them, they ain't themselves anymore. Just like me. But you're pretty much the same way you've always been, and you know, that's cool."
Go for the ears. Coyote whispered to Quezocoatl, hoping to convey the message to Quinn. Coyote had been playing around with the "get Writ raped" idea ever since hearing Posideon's exploits with Fish. He never meant to have it happen, but this trick was too good to pass up.
