Taught by Cel Ravenwish, _, & _. Magic is one of the practices few ever have mastered and perfected. It is one of the wonders of how your powers can be drawn to one part of your body and be released in a blow, or how you can concentrate you powers onto you opponent and burn out their retina by building up their energy too high. We hope you learn well in this subject.

The night before, after the dance, had thrown Avalene for a loop. She had an actually lovely time once she relaxed a bit, and Aero had been very nice. But as he had said goodnight he had given her a kiss on the cheek before leaving as Ava had been motionless with shock, more over motionless and invisible. She had closed the door to her room slowly and tried to calm down, taking a few hours to talk herself back to being partially visible so that she could try to sleep without worrying that she'd be there in the morning. After all that she knew she needed to get her ability under control, after feeling so vulnerable as whatever emotion was clearly shown on her skin.
She walked into the Magic Control classroom to find it completely empty. Her skin was overly bright from the night before, and reflected the artificial lights above her. "Hello? Ms. Ravenwish?" She asked aloud. She felt foolish but sat down in one of the desks determined to wait. She needed this control for herself.

Cel was aparently reading a book and eating a popsicle-stick, she turned around as Ava walked in and smiled, "Hi Ava! Whatsup?" and continued to lick her popsicle...

Ava frowned slightly looking down at her books for a second but then she remembered that this was what she was here for. She looked up at Cel, doubtfully. "I can't control my invisibility." She stated bluntly. "And it reacts to my emotions, so that anytime I feel anything strongly enough, I flicker. If I'm invisible for any amount of time I shine for hours to days after depending on how long I was invisible." She said holding up her moonglow forearm as an example. "I can't change willingly, and I can't stop it from happening. So I need to learn." determination set into her tone and she felt oddly braver. "I need to be in control. Can you help me?"

Cel put down her books and snapped her fingers so that her popsicle would dissapear, "Invisiblity huh? Sounds fun!" she smiled. "Okay, let's get serious... So Ava, you can't control you powers... Your feelings ravage your thoughts and therefore you let your emotions run amok and in the end you cannot control your powers... I'd say, that to control your powers, you need to control your emotions, and to do that, you need to tell me your thoughts..." Cel finished, "Have a seat, and tell me all that went on in your previous life before you went to this acadamy, and your life before and after the dance? Eh?"

Ava gaped at the woman. "Pardon?" She said, her skin pulsing from being caught off guard. "I...I don't think ....didn't.." She stammered trying to be coherent, "Is that really necessary? I mean yes, I understand that I need to reign in my emotions but I don't think anyone could do that fully. I mean, can you?" She asked trying to make sense of Cel's request.
((No worries! smile ))

Cel sighed, "You don't need to go into full detail, just feel relaxed, breathe in and if you don't want to do this, I have a vigorous exercise that might take a while... So which do you want?" Cel half-heartedly smiled

Ava sighed and sat down, still tensed. She needed to be able to do this but to speak of... She hadn't said a word to anyone, and hadn't planned on it, especially to a teacher. Her jaw set trying not to let the barrage of emotion overwhelm her. She stared at the wall opposite her, the pain of uttering the words showing in her eyes. "The boy I loved...died in front of me a year ago." With that she disappeared from view as her feeble walls that held back the thoughts of Luke broke. Flashes of memories ran across her mind, making her want to flee from them, to hid from her own mind. She stayed rooted to her chair though, as chaotic though her mind was, she still knew this was her best chance to fight it. "That was the catalyst it seems." Her voice was strained but still came from the point where she had last been seen.

At that point Cel said , "Stop right there, you are still dwelling on the past aren't you? This is part of what's dragging you down isn't it? But there's more than that, am I correct?"

Ava frowned, thinking about Cel's question, she became faintly visible at the confusion. "More?" She asked quietly, tilting her head. "What more could there be than the loss of love? He was...." She wavered, then plowed on as though forcing herself through normal speech. "Of course I will dwell on the past! Of what my life could have been! Look at me!" She yelled, her cheeks flushing silver in anger. "I wouldn't be like this if he hadn't died! I wouldn't be here! And what am I doing? Dancing with some other boy and disgracing Luke's memory! Ugh!" She said covering her face in her hands. angry tears poured from her eyes, shaking her head as her anger dissipated. "He died in my arms... I'm not likely to forget that." She muttered, keeping her head bowed.

(( Oy... Sorry I haven't been able to reply, I was too busy with HW... ))
Cel came over and hugged Ava, "I know how hard it is to have someone important to you die in your arms.... I was..... Like that too... Until he came... But he left with my memories in shatters....." Cel shook and almost cried but restrained herself. No, I cannot cry, no matter what, that's what he taught me.... "Shhh.... You can remember, but you must not think of the sad things... Life is beautiful, its just the things that you think are ugly and black that makes you think it is not.... So you must live your life with all your heart, live through it like you could die the next second... Death is also an illusion, there's nothing to be afraid of. Death does not hurt, even if the person dies in a terrible way, the only imprint of sadness and sorrow left by death, is on the living..." with that, Cel let go of her hold on Ava, and said, "So, lets get over that buisness..." and wiped Ava's tears off her face, "I have an idea of how to control your powers, just work with me and you'll be fine, okay?" and Cel smiled as a little tear of memory rolled down her cheeks...

Ava nodded resolutely, trying to be stronger than she felt. She was still miserable but she tried to push everything back until later. She calmed a bit taking steadying breathes and eventually she came more into focus, though the glow from her skin was overly bright and her blue veins showed more. "What do I need to do?" She asked, proud her voice didn't waver.
((No problem. I know how that's like ))

Cel thought that this would be difficult since she didn't know that much about Ava, she always works better when she knows the people she's working with, "Let's start out with your skin, that would be a problem with the outside world.." Cel frowned glancing at Ava's skin, "You need to learn how to keep in all your feelings until the time is right, then you can release it all when you need to, come here." she beckoned Ava to come towards her and turn around, then she tied a red ribbon around Ava's head to blind her eyes, "Now, before you say anything, this is part of my training. I want you to see without seeing and live without taking this off until I say you are ready for the next course of your training. Now listen closely, here is your daily schedule, in the morning, I want you to come in here and meditate, meditation will help with balance and tranquility. At noon, I want you to walk around the school and get to know others and their personality. In the evening, I want you to come in the training room and spar with Ailene, you usually find her in the fields or music room practicing her violin. And at night, you may take off this ribbon and gaze at the moon and read stories and write down how your day was in this journal." Cel handed Ava a delicately decorated journal, "When I personally think you are ready, you may go on in your next course of training..."

Ava gaped again in the general direction of Cel's voice. "I'm supposed to walk around blindly? For days?!" She asked aghast. She was a watcher in every sense of the term. Her sight was her sense she used most, and to have to give it up was going to be nearly impossible. More than that her thoughts overlapped each other but some rang louder than others. Days? It might takes weeks. Months if I get this wrong. -She wants me to fight blindly as well! -If she thinks this will abate my fears it'll only heighten them to things unseen! She voiced the loudest qualm aloud. "How am I to spar with anyone blindfolded? I don't know how to fight!" Her voice cracked in her worry.

Cel chuckled alilttle bit remembering her same reaction to when she had been trained the same way, "Trust me Ava, this won't take very long, knowing that it's you." Cel winked, "You'll see, you'll see... This will help later on when your sight cannot help you."
