// Breen looked out over the edge of the high cliffs at the raging waters below. "Hey Ryoku, why'd we come to the Village Hidden in the Mist?" she asked someone behind her.

"Because, i nees to find something of personal value," was the short reply. //

( this one's b4 rykou/bloodrayne, rykea, and breen become akatsuki, but they're still fairly powerful since they know so many secrets from the different lands--considering they each come from a different one, and ryoku comes from a leaf, then sound, then mist, back ground-- so its not long b4. they dont know as many jutsu yet, though)

The general was quiet a moment. Wren might think that he was hesitating or didn't want to answer, but he was actually thinking. He wasn't entirely sure how much of it all he should share with Gwen present. But she would hear one way or another about it, he figured in the end, so it was likely for the best for him to be the one who spoke of it and not someone else.

He looked at the boy again and answered. He confirmed that they did appear in new places from time to time but their growth was relatively slow in comparison to his natural scales. Only the clusters that sprouted from the end of his tail and wing tips seemed to grow with any quickness. He felt no pain when they breached his skin and in the few instances where they were cracked or shattered, he only felt a brief tingle as the stored energy within them was expelled. "The experimental procedure they used to save me came with unforeseen side-effects and when the stone and gems began to appear and overtake the crafted flesh, they feared I would be lost. I was not so weak. As soon as I was able, I sought out ways to rein in the growth of the gemstones and master the stone-skin I was left with. I would not fall in such a pathetic way." He brought a knee up and rested his arm across it. "I succeeded when all assumed I would not. My skin is gradually returning to the flesh it was meant to be but the gems remain and continue to grow slowly. But there is no risk that they will overtake me completely. Perhaps in the next thousand years or so I will have a larger number, but that will only add to my presence I would think. As they do now." He already had an exceptional profile and additional gem spikes and horns would only improve upon it. "It was during the last war with the angels. The same war where I first saw your father on the battlefield. Truly a sight to behold." He had been shocked when he first heard that there were Mazoku aiding them against the angels and refused to believe it until he saw it for himself. Though there was no affection then, he did acknowledge the other warrior's skill. And was glad to see one fighting for them for once and not against them. As for magical abilities, the gems had a few but most of them only affected him--the ability to store his energy within them, assisting him with flight, providing a good source of light in total darkness because they could glow from the inside, and because they were so strong, they were good for weapons and for personal defense. They had a few other uses but he didn't go into detail.

The mention of the bracelet was the first time he frowned openly since beginning the trip. It wasn't an angry frown, though. He just seemed annoyed and it was focused entirely on the bracelet in question. His gaze dropped down on that piece of metal hardware and narrowed for a moment and then the look was gone a second later. He looked away from his wrist. "No. It was placed on my wrist by the Northern scientists. It grants me the power to control something of their creation but I have little desire to use it. No intention to." If Wren pushed to know what it was that it controlled, Tyrinas would not answer. He would only say it was not his place to go into detail.

When the Black Wing clan began to move off, Colin decided to follow after them. He knew he could be of more assistance to them than he could be for the other children. Not that the parents would want the Hashmal around them anyway. At least, the Old Moon. But he knew he would not be turned away by Desna and her family. So he followed after and would help when he could or just watch. He was the one to notice that Nevermore was keeping the lessons mostly on the ground and, while the children were busy chasing after the fox-fire orb, he approached and questioned him on it. He voiced his thoughts on it and Colin agreed with Desna. This was a good opportunity for him to train them in their flying and he likely wouldn't get another opportunity any time soon. Nevermore wasn't completely sure if that was a good idea but he would go with the suggestion of taking Corvin and Belle with him while she worked with Layla. Colin went with Nevermore to assist.

Corvin and Belle understood the basics of flight already for the most part so the angel and the crow focused on building upon what they already knew. They also took some time to help Belle better control that dive of hers. The landing had been rough, not to mention dangerous, and the sooner she learned how to pull up and land safely, the better Neve would feel. He never wanted to see her slam into the ground like that again.

Kitsune leaned in to briefly nuzzle her mate before leaving him to enjoy his time feeding. She snapped for the children to follow and led them off to an open area where she could begin instruction.

Kibi whimpered and stood on shaking legs. Her hunger was even greater now than it had been before and she wished she could eat grass like a horse. She was so desperate she thought about trying to sneak a few mouthfuls in and trying anyway when no one was looking. Tail low and ears drooping, she followed after the group. Throughout the exercise, it was obvious that she wanted to try but she didn't have the strength to do it. Using her ability earlier against the deer had drained her even more Youzen. Still, she tried to catch the orb though she knew she wouldn't be able to.

While the two struggled, Kitsune felt nothing. To her, this was necessary and she would let them continue to suffer for as long as it took to get them to drop their appalling behavior and fly right. She eyed them as they struggled and corrected their mistakes as she did the other pups. She told them that food would not always be available all of the time and that the cozy, easy life they had known was not guaranteed. They might not have servants to cook them meals. They might not even have a home to live in and would have to make due with a den in the earth or a cave. There could be lean days ahead and they would have to go out hunting while already starved. Learning to fight through the hunger now would give them an edge later. She didn't yell at them or growl for their slowness or inability to catch the orb but she would not let them lie down and give up. She would not stand for them making snide remarks or sending sidelong glares at their siblings either. If she caught them doing that, she would yell at them.

The talk of living a common life, possibly hungry and without a proper house was a little scary for Mako. He didn't understand why they wouldn't be guaranteed the cozy life they had. Would the servants leave them? Would people chase them off the mountain? Where would his parents go that he couldn't go with them? Despite the scary questions it brought up, he put his all into impressing his mother and did manage to catch the orb a few times which pleased her. He seemed to have shaken off the laziness completely.

Kitsune rewarded Mako with a pat on the head and words of praise when he pleased her. Eris and Zira received the same. If Kibi and Youzen did succeed in following a command or even caught the orb, she would reward them similarly.

As the lessons drew to an end and the families came back together, the servants brought around chilled drinks to the adults and bottles of chilled water for the children.

Ogedei was feeling pretty confident in his boys. As expected, Kaishin was exceptional and Koji was just a few steps behind that. They made their dad proud and it showed. Cross was also proud but she was a bit more low-key than her mate about it. She accepted her drink and leaned back with a sigh in the shade. Koji and Kaishin sat together, talking about practice.

The Void was also pleased for the most part. Cain and Dakki were where they should be, though Cain did have a slight edge of her daughter but only because her daughter had a penchant for toying with prey first. She claimed she couldn't help it. As a fellow kitsune, her mother understood but she felt the need to warn her that a quick kill was the better option.

((I know. I was thinking the following year. But if you think that would be too late, we could have it happen in the spring. I'm fine with that. Assuming we do go with the idea.
Not really. The dragon prince knows they are betrothed but he thinks Dakki hates him. He doesn't want to put himself in an embarrassing situation trying to stop some guy from hitting on her if she's going to turn around and yell at him/insult him in front of everyone. That would hurt his pride and dragons are all about pride. No one really knows they're betrothed and he wouldn't tell anyone because, yeah, she's a fox and he's a dragon. He's pretty sure Dakki wouldn't admit it to anyone either.
*laughs* And the nerd outfit only succeeds in bringing her more attention. XD *hands Gray several big sticks* Gonna need those. >>

*snickers*
Mazoku child: *looks at the dog he befriended* Well... You've been a good friend, but... *pulls out knife and fork*
Dog: ... *whines*

Zivek will need to bring it up. Kitsune is still inclined to make them suffer more. << So yeah, after they get a bit of food and water and some time to let the food settle, the next hunt begins. Then after eating, they can start into some play fights to help them burn off any excess energy/excitement from the hunt.))

// rolleyes rolleyes rolleyes confused xp sweatdrop stressed sweatdrop xp confused rolleyes rolleyes rolleyes (have you not yet realixzed that lighting does not go thorough either sound or ice mirrors??? ice mirrors make the technique bounce back off into the dome. also, chakra must be destroyed gradually. also, fire is not affected by lightning, so the most it might do to use lightening is damage the vines, and they're spiked with chakra, so you may get rid of most of it, but there's still some there.

and besides that, all they're doing is creating an atmosphere where they can draw chakra from the earth. whcih of course means they can add more chakra to the technique to keep the dome going.

the only thing you can do is to fight it out instead of running like a coward. you should think about what other ppl who are rping are thinking b4 you do something like that. there's a reason i made that dome- to make a real fight. unless you're scared... lol

you can still do the sickle claw smash thing, just inside the dome. analyze attacks, defenses, and setups carefully wiht me- and use common sense. im a major fan of powerful jutsu- my attacks, defenses and setups wont be as easy as one lightening bolt to break.

sorry if i sound rude, its just that i really think things through (major shikamaru fan- it should be obvious). some i will make easy to stop, though. i dont want it unfair.

sorry i wrote so much!!! ) //
