Captain Jushiro Ukitake sat at his desk, somewhat determined not to look bored. He was leaning on his arms, glancing around the room. His soft brown eyes drifted to his paperwork. All of it had either been finished or stolen away by Kiyone and Sentaro to be "filled out". What he thought that meant was they would viciously debate about who would do it better, and it would end up being ripped in half. He smiled slightly; that's why he always had his Lieutenant make copies. Speaking of, where was his Lieutenant? He wasn't used to having a self-reliant subordinate; he was more used to Kiyone and Sentaro following him around, often against his will. He turned his gaze upward to his walls. They were neatly decorated with various drawings. However all of them looked relatively similar; they were all cutesy animals and poorly drawn. They all seemed to be by the same artist. Indeed, the same small kanji could be found in a corner of each paper. They all read "Rukia". His eyes now half-closed, they travelled to the closed door of his office. The wind was still, so he couldn't hear the water outside. Clearing his throat, he sighed softly and closed his eyes. The boredom that had been tugging on the Captain's mind finally had dominion.
Groaning quietly, he slid his arms out from under his head and crossed them on his desk. Tiredly, he flopped his head down, his long white hair flying about like flames before resting on his head, arms, and desk like fallen snow. Almost no sooner had he done that that he sat bolt upright, slapping a hand in front of his mouth. A drop of blood or two dripped onto his shihakusho slowly. Then the fit came. He stood up abuptly and used his free hand to lean against a clean wall as he started to cough heavily. Spurts of blood made their way through his pale fingers as he doubled over.
After a few minutes, he stopped, gasping for breath. His gentle brown eyes were wide with slight aftershock for a second before going back to their original shapes. He straightened up slowly and examined the mess he made. Wet blood sparkled on his haori, hand, and the ground around his surprisingly clean socks.
"Whatever I just did, I need to make sure I DON'T do it again," He panted to himself, wiping his hand on his haori. He smacked his lips a couple of times. "Meh. Blood... Yum," He said to himself. He leaned against the wall with his shoulder. "And I'm so boooorrred..." He whined. He straightened up and frowned. He then brightened up and smiled. "I know! I'll go exploring!" As soon as he said this, he immediately looked at his door. He didn't see any shadows lingering, waiting to listen in and follow him. He crept to his door and slid it open slowly. He poked his head out and looked around quickly. When he saw no one, withdrew his head again and bobbed up and down excitedly. "Yeah, yeah! I'll start with Mayuri, and-" He cut his sentence short. "Never mind. I'll quietly sneak around that one, and... Kenpachi! Yeah, Yeah!" Looking ecstatic, he grabbed Sogyo No Kotowari and headed out.
