Ithil was too speechless, too shocked, and far to embaressed to answer. His throat was tight, eyes wide, and his whole face was flushed with red. Great, not only had he made an idiot of himself in front of her, but now he'd insulted her! He always prided himself at being the more political and peace keeping of the two twins, and now he figuratively had both feet in his mouth along with his fist too.

This had been a most humiliating first impression for him.

Without a second breath, a shadow from behind began to move up on his right side, his eye blinking fast as he focused in on the taller Guardian standing just in front of him on an angle. It was a shielding technique and an intimidation position...well, at least that's how Ithil read it. He'd studied the behaviors and actions of body guards in case he had to intuperret their actions in a negiation.

"L-Lady Kelbora, what are you-"

Kelbora's eyes narrowed, her attention never leaving the young elf female or Ithil's brother. "We have accomplished what we have come here for, I have seen the brother who Ithil give permission to be near his without an apparent breech of safety. Any further interaction this late at night would be pointless and most likely lead to a hostile situation." The vampire said her posture ridged and firm.

Ithil looked puzzled now and looked at Kelbora with curiosity and mild bewilderment, "My Lady, why would you think further interaction would be hostile?" The young prince asked.

Kelbora's eyes flickered to Elenath and she scowled, "According to Gleir, the only person I am permitted to take orders from, I cannot let you out of my sight unless it is for sanitation, confidential inquiries, and/or privied events. And since this is none of these, and I am very tired, annoyed, and loosing patients with a certain smart mouth; it is best to retire for the evening. Besides, you obviously have little to no interaction skills with members of the opposite sex in reguards to informal situations."

Ithil blushed. He couldn't really argue with that last comment. But "smart-mouth"? This beautiful firey haired woman? ...Well given they had only met a few moments ago, and she was rather quick tounged and witted...er...okay, so she was a smart-mouth. But a very cute smart-mouth.

"Lady Kelbora, I'm sure if Miss...uh...well, forgive me dear- I mean, maiden, I don't know your name. If the young maiden insulted you in some way, I'm sure she did not intend it." There. He may not know women, but he definately knew peace talks and calming situations down. Stick to what ya know.

Kelbora's eyes flickered back to Ithil, "Call me Lady one more time and I'll declair that you've insulted me. It's General, got that? I worked my a** off my whole life to obtain the title of High Lord among my people, which would be the equivalance of a General among yours." That made Ithil blush again, but Kelbora's eyes were now all for Elenath, "And if the young princess were truely as schooled in terms of her duties as she claims, then perhaps she and her tounge would be far more mindful of what beast she declairs abhoration for." Her statement ended with a snarl.

Now Ithil was really puzzled. His Guardian did not like the Fox Princess because she hated cats? Then it accured to him. Kelbora had taken her coat off after the two had finally sat down to speak with each other back in his room; he had noticed and inquired about the interesting symbol on her armor. And clear as day, the same mark was tattooed on her left arm: Der Unsterblich Tigeress, or 'The Undying Tigeress' in Elven translation.

The tucked head of a tigeress against its chest, front and back paws tucked inward as the tail at the end of it's body splits into the tail of a phoenix. The out streched wings of a dragon are depicted behind the side view of the seemingly slumbering beast representing the ancient balance of light and dark, life and death, the symbol of the Phoenix and the symbol of the Dragon giving the Tigeress endless rebirth and limitless power of death. Tigers are symbols of strength in Vampiric culture, and a Tigeress is the symbol for limitless devotion...as females are revered as protective and nurturing creatures that trandsend life and death. As the animal symbols of the Elven Clans are sacred, so too is the creature upon a Vampiric family crest.

If someone had insulted a wolf before himself or his brother, negativity towards the offender would insue as it would with any member of a Clan.

Ithil was schooled in diplomatic relations and other cultures. To help him understand the differences, his professors had made reference to foregin concepts by comparing them to things he was familiar with...and this was one of them. Though the symbols and meanings of most Elven and Vampiric depictions are different; animals, plants, lands, and gods are usually the same. It was a large tattoo in black ink set against pale skin...but he had to calm this down...and to be honest, he really wanted to change the opinions of his Guardian in reguards to the Fox princess. He wanted to meet with her again, so for visits to be a pleasent topic, Kelbora had to not have negitive feelings towards her.

"L-I mean, General Kelbora...in Elenath's defense the princess's attention was directed at me, and not her audience. I'm sure she meant no disrespect or intent to provoke a disagreement." Ithil said and smiled at his Guardian before looking back to Elenath, making a silent plea for her to follow his lead a bit. "She has probably not had positive interactions with those who share the affinity for feline creatures as you do, so perhaps this oversight can be forgiven in light of unintentionally generalizing?" Ithil made a silent prayer that it would be. "Perhaps as our time together progresses, enlightenment and acceptance can be gainned through understanding. Would this not be the best course of action?" He concluded, sealign his negotiation with a smile.

Everything was silent for a long moment. Kelbora had directed her attentions to the young prince the moment he addressed her, and she analyzed him now. It was a through scrutany, a complete contemplation, and atiquit assesment of the young lord's words...and she returned his sweet smile, watching the young man relax a bit with ease.

"Mein Herr that was a very well thought out, very skillfully presented, and tactfully presented show of a soon-to-be politican's tounge. I applaude your astute grasp of such a difficult art with respect and a slight of pride." She continued to smile at him, the boy's own fading around the edges...and suddenly gone when Kelbora's face went hard with the true meaning behind her words, "To bad a smooth politian's tounge no longer had any effect on me."

Elenath's eyes showed annoyance as the two seemed to bicker back and forth, bantering as if she wasn't there at all. Why must people talk as if i'm not there?.... Appearing calm on the outside, whereas on the inside her emotions were whirling in confusion, from anger to attraction to annoyance to hatred.

"I must apologize if I have offended you in any way Lady Vampire, but I must correct the unintentional. I have no problem with a panther, lion, tiger, etc. Just plain old cats. I dislike them as I dislike Thala Miel." Her words were soft and meant to sound sincere.

"Now, if you will I think I shall retire to the dorms myself considering today has been most auspicious and tiring." Bowing slightly to Ithil and Kelbora, and to Gollor also, she waved to Acharn. "Thanks for laying so much on my plate Acharn! I shall be very busy these next few weeks into the year before finally getting used to it. I shall see you tomorrow." With that she turned, slinking away in dignified silence, hips swaying slightly and wild red hair tinting the walls around scarlet.

Acharn nodded to himself slightly in Elenath's direction, prefering to stay in the room and out of observing eyes. He wasn't so stupid as to rile the easily confronting vampire, and damn Elenath for ratting him out, however, he couldn't stay mad at his new, and one of relatively few, friends. Hopefully she would ignore his presence as he hers, and he could simply wait until all the visitors were gone and he could talk to Gollor. It seems as though Ithil will be harder to talk to. He sighed deeply, pitying the progression of his friendship.

Ithil felt defeated...utterly and completely defeated. He wanted to continue talking civilly to the beautiful young princess, his brother, and the young Lord Acharn, but he knew that Kelbora would not appreciate the wish. Until they had come to better ground with each other, he needed to be as careful with his new Guardian as possible.

He sighed and his shoulders slumped a bit.

"I'm sorry to spoil your party, Gollor. I bid you both good night for now." Ithil then looked at Acharn and gave a bow before turning on his heel and walking back down the hall which they had come from.

Kelbora watched Ithil go for a moment and then gave a glance back at the two remaining male youths. Her eyes were on Acharn, her dialated pupils were returning to normal size before she gave a glance to Gollor and followed after Ithil. She didn't bow or say a word.

She had already vowed...she would never bow to the Child of Two Bloods.

Elenath sighed as she walked back to her room. Such a long day. And such a long day tomorrow also. Thanks to Acharn, she now had another class to attend. All's done in the life of a princess. Besides, how can she resist a request from a soon to be leader of the entire countries. "What a mess."

Gollor sighed dratically. "What a downright mess this has turned out to be huh Acharn?" Smiling obtusely he swung his arm around Acharn's shoulder, looking companionable but in actuality doing it for his own purposes. "So, whatcha been up to dashing young prince?"

Pulling away from the casual embrace slightly, Acharn blushed, pulling a stray strand of hair out of his eyes. "Yea," he muttered softly, looking downcast. Looking up, he half-smiled nervously, "At least I didn't screw up your chances at speaking to Ithil again. I'd be lucky to get a word in before that Icicle Queen threates to murder me again. And that's the last thing I need, between Fael, Gelir and her, it'll be a complete bloodbath. Not that Elenath or you or Ithil would stand back, but geez." He threaded his fingers through each other and sighed. Looking down at himself, he muttered, "Got anything I can borrow, I feel like such a girl in these clothes. But you know Carani and Shaine, gotta treat me like a dress-up doll. Heck, they wanted to put a ribbon in my hair."

Gelir sat in the heated bath, well scented with cedarwood for sharpening her senses and easing the streess of a long, mentally exhausting day. Leaning back and sighing as her maid worked gentle fingers into her scalp, she couldn't quite think that the day had really been all that bad.

Sure, Kelbora and Acharn hated each other, but really, they don't need to be friends, or even interact. And as long as her brother was in one piece for breakfast tomorrow, everything should turn out alright. Though really, there's also not much to worry about in that aspect, Ithil is always going to be the most diplomatic of the bunch of us pups, she thought. Sometimes she really wished ma was still around to mind Ithil and Gollor, though they had know finally passed those ages of great need. And Aunt Cari has always been pretty good about helping out. Feeling as though her thoughts were rambling, she excused her nurse and immersed into the water, a little bubble of air over her mouth to keep from drowning, and meditated quietly.

Several hours later she got up, realizing the time and that soon she'd have to go and retrieve Acharn for the night. Grabbing a large mug of miruvor she swayed contently, though in a few hours she'd be more mindful, knowing it would not be unlikely for her to have an unwelcomed guest at Acharn's door.

Gollor's face dropped a bit as Acharn pulled out of his embrace, he missed the warmth already. "Well atleast the Icicle Queen is to protect my dear brother. Speaking of which did you see those two, meaning that Elenath and my brother, looking at eachother the way they were? I mean I could see sparks already." His smile was lecherous and he eyed Acharn up and down. "Not that there couldn't be sparks between us."

Sanding he walked over to his wardrobe. Opening the doors he picked through his clothing, tossing a few things onto his bed and then sitting down next to it all. "Strip." His grin was yet again lecherous.

Elenath herself was still walking to her own room with long strides. Her thoughts were full of the silver-haired lithe teen that had been so... Utterly handsome. His eyes were also enchanting, their honey depths had haunted her mind. His speech had also been impeccable, a husky tone that sent shivers down her spine. He was... Perfect.

Shaking her head swiftly to rid herself of the thoughts she observed that she needed something to wake her up, as she wasn't going to get sleep anytime soon. Maybe some wine since she couldn't stomach miruvor. With that Elenath headed towards the kitchens.

A heated blush blanketed Acharn's smooth features.

"Heh...eh...yea...they seemed...yeah, so..I...um...I'll just be in the bathroom, mkay?" Without waiting for an answer Acharn grabbed as much as he could in an armload and hurried off to the bathroom, shutting the door and locking it before leaning quite heavily against it's interior.

Taking a moment to sigh and compose himself, sort of, he looked up at the ceiling, it's marbleized designs proving a fascinating, yet regrettably short distraction. Did he just...no..but...s**t. Completely flustered, he walked over to an end table and perused the contents quickly. Too little fabric, even less fabric....what in the world is Gollor thinking. He can't be in a relationship, and well, he'd be a fool to think a relationship with Gollor would be more than sex and comaraderie...even if there were a chance for them to be together politically.

"Lir-ahn....what's a homosexual?" Acharn looked up at Gelir expectantly.

"Where'd you hear that word Ah-kee?" Gelir asked politely, though honestly the boy was too obviously homosexual, gracing feminine qualities even the average long-haired mage elf couldn't imagine, and it wasn't hard to assume this had earned him the heated words of a jealous student.

"Oh...no where, just around." He said oh so innocently, rocking slightly on his heels and pouting just so, the look he always gave when some piece of knowledge escaped him.

"Ah, well. It's when a boy wants another boy as his melethril, his special person. Or when a girl wants the same from another girl. It's rather accepted in our society, so long as you don't have any political responsibilities to get in the way. You see, girls and boys can have little boys and girls someday, but unfortunately, this is not so for homosexuals." Gelir said with a small sigh.

"You, dearie, will eventually marry a girl, and have babies...like you're supposed to."

Acharn snapped out of his reverie. He knew what he had to do, but why were all women so damned unsexually attractive. He giggled quietly at his own confundary before deciding to give as good as he got.

Opening up the door several moments later, his hair hung in low ponytails with wine colored ribbon holding the ends. For his top, he had chosen a simple black tank, tight to his body. This was easily complemented by the knee-length black shorts that were barely baggy, containing more pockets than fabric. He opted to go barefoot, liking the comfort of the plush carpet in Gollor's room.

Glaring at Gollor as he entered the room he said, "Look, don't touch. Or I'll feed your fingers to Fael!" He giggled cutely.

**OOC- the suffix -ahn is used as an honorific to older family members.
-kee is used much the same, but for younger family members.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eabii Glaerae sat in the kitchen, her parents had of course, dropped her off extremely late, and having already missed dinner she quietly munched on a plate of sandwich squares a maid had set out for her. It was only partially their fault, she mused.

They had gotten caught up performing for the Rasroch, in return for healing a distant relative. Politics and the like were pretty strange, 'you heal me and I'll get my family to compose a lovely ballad for you and take two weeks in traveling time and make their daughter miss dinner.....' Eabii excused herself to herself...which is rather confusing, but to waste precious brainspace on the rambling natures of one's mentality is really quite ridiculous.

She could really be focusing on the finer aspects of advanced alchemy or metallurgy...or even singing....that little thing her clan is most known for, you know raising the spirits and the like. Not dead spirits of course, though that would be hella fun, she thought, pumping her fists enthusiastically, before realizing she was alone, and it's really silly to physically celebrate alone. Therefore, she resumed her light meal in hopes that the morning would find intellectual stimuli.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 24, 2008 12:03 pm

Gollor's eyes turned serious. "I don't really think of Fael in that way. She has... Fatty mammory glands on her chest and a** that just don't work for me. I'm more of a pectoral type of guy." He stated pointedly. "Not to mention some nice.. Glutes." His cheeks tinged pink a bit at the end of that last sentence. He hadn't meant to say those words exactly. "I think it's time you should get back to Gelir and Fael."

----------------------

Elenath sighed and rested her head against the wall for a moment. She now had a serious headache that seemed to burst her skull apart. Wine would surely dull it to a throb. The wall also felt nice, cool to the touch.

Laying her hand on the door to the kitchen she pushed herself off the wall and opened the door only to be greeted by another person. Lovely. No peace for Elenath Rusc. This person also would probably dislike her. Best not to introduce herself and get the wine and get out.

Striding to the cellar of wines, she searched quickly, finding a vintage she liked and pulling out the cask. Which was amazing for she was almost the same size and it would take considerable strength to lift. Finding herself a glass she poured herself a generous amount and turned around. She was also hungry. She too had missed dinner. Great.

"I take it you're a... Bird clan of some sort? And not of the Dove? Or Swan? And you're a tad colorful too... I'm going to take a wild guess at Woodpecker or Songbird... Hm..." Her stomach then took the cue to growl loudly.

Acharn coughed, a blush coloring his high cheekbones.

"Yes, I believe that would be best." He sighed, hands limp at his sides. How could he possibly avoid making things with Gollor even more akward.

"I've had a really stressful day, it's really nothing by you." He smiled, placing a hand on Gollor's shoulder.

"You're not scary just cause you think pervy thoughts about me." He joked, smirking and placing the hand that was on Gollor's shoulder onto the doorknob.

"Kay, night Gollor."

--------------------------------

Eabii looked up from her sandwich, eyeing the other young woman down.

"Yes, well, I am a songbird clan Hieress, Eabii Glaerae at your service. And you, with your russet hair and barely evident manners, you must be a Fox." She smiled kindly, in contrast to the words carried in her exotic, lilting alto voice.

"It should be all but certain that there would be kitchen staff kept 'round the clock for our ever so noble selves, hm? But perhaps it's not your speed to think of so many servants employed in one house. I understand the Rusc are more hands on than that. I do believe I sang at your last birthday, Hieress Elenath. Your mother is quite beautiful. Mother had to keep hitting Father with her dancing fans that night, the way the drool worked up 'round the corners of his mouth." She giggled prettily.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 06, 2008 6:17 pm

Elenath just stared at the girl. She was absolutely stunned. Of course, the only noticeable change was the slight widening of her eyes and her mouth had gone absolutely slack as she breathed a fierce exhale of air through her nose. She had no idea whether to feel insulted... Or complimented...

Regainin her composure she smiled and her hand reached out. "Yes. You are correct. I am in fact Elenath Rusc. I appreciate your blunt honesty instead of coy insults behind a back. I also appreciate the fact that your clan had performed at my last birthday. It was particularily enjoyable to have the infamous songbirds there to sing and dance. It was lovely." Elenath was in her politician phase at the moment, smile and compliment.

She then smiled congenially. "My mother is irresistable though isn't she?" Her face glowed with pride, even though she was a courtesan. A rather popular one. Her poor dear father, how did he live.

Eabii smiled graciously, extending her hand to the seat next to her.

"I suppose you can have one or two of my sandwiches..." She looked at the pile of twenty or so on the plate as if they might jump away if she didn't eat them quickly.

"Can we be friends?" She blurted out suddenly, after downing the rest of the sandwich in her hands and washing it down with marigold mead.

"I don't have very many. I usually make them cry, I don't get it really." She scrunched up her face thoughtfully.

"All I did to Rausi Wilwarin is ask her if she took such effort into making herself pretty to cover up her insecurity and substandard intelligence. I called her pretty right? That's a compliment..." Her indigo eyes settled on Elenath wearily.

Acharn sighed an sat down. He wanted nothing more than to curl up with a fantasy story, like the 'Gaia' series he had been reading. The world sounded so pretty in it, with innovations like pictures that talked to you, carrying messages all over the world, without the steady drain of magic. And nobody there seemed to carry the weight of empires on their shoulders, prefering to fall in love and live life as they desired, shaped only by their means.

Instead, a night of reading up on Advanced Conversational Fey and Diplomacy for Dummies seemed to be in store for him.

"Since when is it crime to like somebody." Acharn thought aloud, hating himself for hurting Gollor like that. If only to be in a world like Gaia, where I would be everyone's equal and love as I wished. Sighing again, Acharn picked up his book.

"Ae sinh fae'elahi moruidh salfh fign he'a neasin'ih inuh efhe'a...."- A Fey proverb, "The leaf that lets itself fall will be lost and littered until it decomposes."

Elenath brought her glass of wine over along with another for the Songbird. She was just taking a bite of the snadwich when she choked on it, trying hard not to laugh at what Eabii had said.

"You said that to her?! No wonder." She chuckled quietly in amusement. "Well, I think that because you have a mind similar to mine, and a mouth to match it, i'd have fun being your friend." She smiled charmingly at the girl.

"We shall become the pair to match at insults shan't we?"

Eabii's eyes seemed to narrow slightly, "You, my match? Hmph." Eabii snuffed her nose up in pure imitation of haughtiness.

"I do think that you'd have realized the immense difference in our skill levels, by right of my superiority I might as well take over your whole kingdom, take your mother and father as my slaves and all that you hold dear shall be mine to rub in the mud...or you could just come visit my troupe this weekend, have fun, a few drinks and try not to get molested by drunk-as-Dionysis bards."

She giggled, tossing a stray ringlet of hair over her shoulder. "It would be loads of fun, and some of them bards aren't half bad looking. Any lucky fellow you might intend to make jealous?"
