The King of Evil was slain by the Hero of Time a long time ago. This brought the land of hyrule to its golden age of prosperity, however over time the land began to darken. Monsters appeared in larger numbers and powerful monsters began to take over. The Land of Hyrule was in danger, but the Hero of time was nowhere to be found. The Triforce was blinded by the sudden and rapid insertion of monsters and could not find a true hero. In a last bit attempt to save hyrule from eternal darkness it lended very small power in the form of a faded triforce on the back of the hands of any source of strength it could find. It knew a hero would emerge, it also knew, it lended its power to those who might misuse it. What you choose to do with it is up to you.
