The death of a god is completely unheard of. Even with injuries, the gods and goddesses of Olympus never grew tired or weak. Even as humans stopped worshiping them as they once did, their powers did not wane for even a second.

When Eros and his three brothers suddenly disappear, with not even Hades able to find them in the underworld, panic starts to ripple through them. After years and years of searching with no luck, they have to conclude that the four were not returning leaving Aphrodite to manage the love of the world on her own.

Despite the grief from the family of those four, their lives went on. Over the next year, more and more gods started to disappear, and by the end, four more were completely missing. Aphrodite herself had been attacked by one who she couldn't even describe the face of, leaving her weakened.

The gods scrambled to find out just what had happened to the missing gods, and who attacked Aphrodite. It took a few decades, and more comrades lost, to realize that A) Aphrodite's attack and the missing gods were the same mystery and B) whoever attacked them found a way to force a god to continually be reborn as a human with no clue on even the fact that they were once a god.

Unsure on how to restore those now mortal gods to their original forms, the remaining gods took up more defensive positions, determined not to lose any more all while searching for their comrades in human form.

Greek Gods:

* To RolePlay any of the greek gods, just claim one you want to use. It can be any of them really as long as they are not already a mortal god.

* As gods do, they are going to be automatically more powerful than human characters

* I would prefer to have characterizations be grounded in the myths, however creative freedom is a thing so you can be like 'well humans were just wrong about how they act' and that will be cool too

* I would prefer you dont play more than 2 of the main 12, honestly I would like to limit it to only 1 till we have an idea of who wants to join.

Mortal Gods:

* These are limited in number. My original plan was to have only 11, but this number may be raised if interest is high. Though I dont want to do too many due to the next rule

* Whichever mortal god you choose will have an effect on the world, granted some might be lesser than others if there are multiple gods that can fill that role.

* There are straight up some gods I will not allow to be a mortal god. IE: Thanatos will not be a mortal god due to the fact that literally nothing will be able to die if he is a mortal god.

* Obviously Eros, Pothos, Anteros and Hymenaios are going to be mortal gods. Though if you give me a good reason I might allow one to have been able to 'return to Olympus' for the start of the roleplay.

* Mortal gods dont have to look or act like they are characterized in their myths. Though I will still encourage it as some of the god's characterizations are kinda fun to play with.

* Mortal gods have access to lesser abilities. They will be nowhere near as powerful as they were as gods.

Humans:

*No stipulations on these, their importance will be discussed on a character by character basis (IE: why are they in the middle of the god's panic)

The Effect on the Humans
* Love is a rarity, most people now marry for reasons other than wanting to spend their life with that particular person. If they even get married in the first place. When someone falls in love, it is celebrated and the two who fell in love are almost always married to one another.
