For three hundred years, Witchery Hill Inn and Tavern has stood. It was run by the Easthills, a family of humans that were the leaders of the Underground. They set up elaborate rescues, a complex network of spies, and trained their entire lifetime for the worst. However, on the surface, they seemed like normal innkeepers, despite their abnormal customers.
But then the secret of Witchery Hill Tavern began to become too well-known, and soon they face attack after attack. However, it was from the inside that the inn was doomed to a fate like the rest of the outposts: a long-deceased necromancer's curse summoned up the dead from their graves to destroy the inn's patrons, and an evil vampire set fire to the inn for his own petty revenge at the same time.
Skilled and powerful as they were, the patrons didn't stand a chance. A witch named Eve Mason and her husband Val caused the inn to collapse, killing themselves in the process, but also taking the dead with them, and saving the lives of everyone else. Their noble sacrifice destroyed the inn, but it wasn't the end.
After five months, Carmen Marie Easthill West decided to rebuild her family's inn, but in a different location, to make sure they were not quite finished. They rebuilt the inn at the base of a hill for which the inn was named: Witchery Hill, where a gallows loomed at the top. They rebuilt the inn far away from the local towns, deep in the woods, yet not impossible to find, and they built it far bigger and sturdier than the previous one.
With the building of the inn, the heroic dream of the Underground came alive again. Inspired, other branches that had fallen rebuilt themselves, and the complicated web of branches began to form once more, defying the odds and the masses, and saving the lives of the persecuted, all because of the story, the legend of Witchery Hill Tavern.
And now, their story continues.
