A major asylum, called Dogwood, in a large city right smack in the middle of the U.S. has been opened and most prisoners have escaped. Every one of the escapees are murderers who have some king of mental illness and have either killed or hurt somebody. These killers have to fight for their freedom from the city, to get out of the way of police and to try and find their friends and struggle to survive.
